Quick Tips That Helped Me Gain MMR

I'm still gaining a lot of MMR, so I thought it would be helpful to share some tips that helped me grind not only from 7.1k to 9.1k in 2 months, but also even from my starting MMR of 2.6k Some points include map awareness and the laning phase.

Exceptional patience often win fights. I love waiting really long to ulti with Treant, sometimes the enemy is so afraid of the ulti that it leads to them not fighting when they should; them being afraid actually have even more impact than the ulti itself.

3:10 i actually found pretty usefull bug, if enemy has smoke, you can click it and it appears in chat, if they use it, it will stay in the inventory, but when you click on it it wont appear in chat, can be used for all consumables and wards
Love the empathetic approach brother keep it up. This is what the community needs .
On the note of checking inventories you can look for smokes in enemy inventorys and when they go off map if you can still ping the smoke they haven't used it yet but if you can't ping it (it won't send a message) then they have smoked.
Same with observer wards. If they have only 1 obs, you can ping the opponent’s ward to see if they’ve placed it or not.
Adrian, I really appreciate your emphasis on monitoring enemy items and checking the minimap. These are fundamental yet often overlooked aspects that many of my students struggle with. Now, I can save time and direct them to this video for a clear and concise explanation.

exactly the same thing I also tell the people that I am coaching, I am always very confused about how people are not checking timings and items. That is so important and holds a lot of people back. Even in Immortal 6-8k this still happens, not that often anymore, but when I look on Twitch at streamers in that skill bracket, a lot of them are only rarely checking items and timings or not at all

I can't empathize enough how true that last tip is. I've learn not to hate ppl for their gameplay (but instead from their behavior instead) through pure experience, but most of my teammates don't seem to learn this shit yet. There's been countless times where someone would lose/feed in early game, got flamed then the entire team got fking toxic towards each other to the point where even if we win a huge fight sometimes later that gives us high chance of winning the game, they would just refuse to work together properly or do their job of pushing the lanes and opting to farm instead out of pure fking spite, thus losing an easily winnable game. This shit just prevents me from ranking up man
Except that's not the reason you're not ranking up. You need to realize the same shit you're dealing with is also happening on the enemy team. Your circumstances is not unique to you alone. You're not ranking up because you're trying to blame others instead of trying to improve yourself. Improve yourself instead of trying to improve strangers.
pointing to something positive in the game is an ok strategy, but the best one is to point out something fun in the game. mb your teamate just hit a sick stun that changed a fight. hype the team up off of that.
this. I feel like most of us need to be reminded just how fun and flashy this game is. We get do caught up in trying to win and outsmarting the enemy that we forget just how well this game feels to play.

The message at the end is very true and can be applied to most situations where team work is involved.
Criticism is important but it should never be a personal attack and it should be after the fact to help with learning.
This isn't about MMR, this is about Dota. If you don't enjoy the game, then the mmr going up wont mean as much as you think anyway. Truthfully, I found everything in this video to be very refreshing to hear and it would benefit everyone to watch this video at least once. Everything here I've been making conscious steps towards, some even unconsciously. This and your other mmr climb video definitely convinced me to sub. I started playing in 2014, we were kids and flamed as much as possible while never comprehending why we never improved. Now, as an adult, seeing a fellow adult make concise and sane observations, it really makes me feel positively for the future of this game. Awesome video.

Regarding the minimap, you can also ping missing a specific hero to find out where was the hero last seen on the minimap. It's a good additional info for predicting next moves.
yeah click the shit out of it like spam cancel ping, people like me cant see the *hero name* is missing when we're focused on laning , thats why i click miss like 4 times and ping whenever i can, thats how i make sure they'll know!
How exactly?
@@kylemac8672 imagine you are vs an AM on the enemy team, you play as nyx assassin, a great counter to AM farming all day. You went vendetta but you haven't seen AM on the map for a minute. You can use this minimap trick by clicking on AM's portrait on top of the screen to trigger a ping on the minimap that shows the last recorded location when AM is within your team's field of vision. By this information, you can deduce where he is his farm pattern going to be for the next minute after that last spot. This is a pretty advanced technique, so try to get the hang of it, good luck!

In NA server if you ask someone to go back so they don't die, then they die, they'll proceed to blame, mute and report you. So PMA that one bro. Otherwise, I've been doing all those tips from Archon to Legend, currently stuck trying to make sense of headless chickens running around lmao. Thanks for the tips

Helpful tip: ping uncombined items more often (especially after lost fights). If you can't ping it in chat that means that this item is combined into something bigger. This is also the reason not to deliver to yourself some components for items that will win fights for your team later, like bkb, refresher or nullifier.
I can guarantee you that only ogre axe and mithrill hammer in your inventory will get my attention on you.

Back door protection. I know it stops only when creeps are nearby, also that it has cool down after there are no creeps
Also, toer 3's protection stopss whenever there are enemy creeps on any other lane.

I've been playing around with it in demo mode and struggled to understand what makes it worth 4.2k gold, besides a weird interaction when someone bkbs and you enchant them during the time they are affected by avatar state. the last point is on point, I was mid when i got wrecked completely by the enemy going 0-4. my teammates didnt say anything and just play the game and creating space. After getting farmed i carried the game 16-6.

One big struggle for me is positioning. I can intuitively know exactly when I'm out of positive, but I'm often out of position because I don't know what being "in position" is. I know when I'm about to die but I still get stuck in the greedy mindset of wanting to farm on a blind map.
Get sups to plant vision and if minimap is missing heroes who can actually kill you then you take safe farm only.
Here’s a tip that helped me get immortal, that I see every low rank player not doing.
In the laning stage, if you see an opponent go to gank another lane, don’t just ping ‘earth spirit is missing’ or ‘puck is missing’. That’s NOT enough!! Your teammates are not reading chat pings whilst engaging the enemy or last hitting. You need to be vocal on your microphone: ‘spectre you’re getting ganked, go back RIGHT NOW’ or spam ping them until they’ve acknowledged your miss call. Because if you have knowledge that your teammate is being ganked and you don’t prevent it ….. that death is on YOU!
That last tip is the most crucial one :) if you don't believe him, go watch TI8 Game 5 finals. The trust on your teammates wins you the game no matter the odds are
It’s funny cuz I have map awareness, I call it when people do roshan and often am right, I check people’s inventory to see how close they could be to have a blink. Yet iam hard stuck in trench… people in that rank just don’t react even if you tell them something obvious, i feel like telling people to be careful etc often leads them to mute you .

PRO tip - play in team as 5 :)) This is the best tip u can say. No matter what items, heroes u play. This is the most important think, to play in team.

Hey quick question: You're pos 4 Rubick and your pos 3 just unironically last picked jungle LC. How do u cope?
Solo the offlane and get whatever farm and levels you can. Enable the LC to jungle and get his fast lvl 6 and blink, it’s not that bad if you’re not toxic about it. You’ll get better farm and levels than you normally would on a support, so play for a 15-20 minute timing. If you’re forced out of lane due to 2v1, walk to mid or safelane and make a gank, force the pos 5 to tp, then tp back to the offlane and have a free lane for a while. Or stack camps while you’re waiting for lane to push in.
The problem here comes from assuming that a teammate’s pick/strategy is bad, when often fringe picks (support clinkz.. luna.. sniper.. tb.. mid lion.. rubick etc.) can be very viable and even powerful in the right hands.
Don’t fight your teammates, enable them.

it seems i dont need most of these guide. But what i need to know is how much game, sacrafice, disipline, loss it took people to rank up..... im lazy 'pushing' rank. i default calibrated mostly at legend 4- ancient1.. ive never push rank more than like 2-3 days in my 10yr of dota haha
About ur last point on a teammate that plays so bad its good to also remember that naturally in one game of dota there will always be the worst player in the game, now that would be a gamble if he's in your team or theirs. If he happens to be on your team, try to do your best anyways. Not necessarily into this PMA stuff but we can look at this more truthfully this way
I've got an ultra wide monitor. No joke, this means my map awareness sucks because I have to swivel my head to see it... The game needs a setting to move the map for wide monitors.

yeah i climb regulary like 200 mmr a month, and then i threw everything again with double mmr tokens :D so i lost 500mmr in total.
The problem of my 4k games is this
Even though I have a feeling "enemy is smoked and ganking" and even ping/ping/ping my carry or my team... "guys care the probably gank"... they just stay, ignore me and die (youknow cause they need to farm one last creep)...then flame me that i was not there to die with them

i know its a dumb thing to say but we need some sort of ranking system for turbo mode. the thing is, a single ranked match takes at least 40min which for some of us is really costly because even if we manage to get some time out for dota, a single match is all we can afford but in turbo mode we can afford 2 or 3 matches easily since turbo matches takes 20 to 30 min max. now many people, even ranked player play turbo to try out new item or new approach play for a their hero, simple put they experiment in turbo mode which is really game racking for us regular player. on top of that they scold us for being a turbo player and many more abuse. but if there is some kind of ranking system or even a punishment for ruining a match, things could get better for us regular turbo player.

I am that weirdo who had been playing Rubick 24/7 until reached 7500 first-picking it(540games 66%wr). I wanna give a piece of advice for every Rubick picker: stop stealing spells just to steal spells. Even if you are in the middle of fight and you've used ur stolen spell think 1000 times before stealing void's 2nd, mars's 2nd, zeus's 3rd or any another AMAZING spell.
most of the time it would be even better to just telekinese away your dying from sven midlaner :)

dont be scared of rp'ing one hero( that might be some mid/offlane/carry) any role, tho it does depend on game situation
Example: you know for a fact that if u kill primal beast you WILL win a fight. and hes just bkb+tp'ing out just STRAIGHT UP RP
dont think dont listen to anyone just do that and i bet it will win you 100's of games
one more thing to say: try switching builds each 2-3 games or maybe try doing something you've never done!
for example: if your building PT, think about do u really need it for laning fights? if u cant take them then whats' the point? you can buy boots save 2k and buy blink minute 8-10 and go absolutely MADNESS
last thing is when u get lvl 6 try to be helpfull everywhere (you see ur mid-laner dying) if u can do that tp use rp and kill those heroes
and when u get blink YOU MUST buy smoke/ask supports and go kill midlaner/offlaner/carry (it gives u so much advantage when those heroes dont expect magnus to come out this huge)

2 Major tips for you guys if you really want to reach 9k mmr:
1) If you have a physical or psychological demanding job where you have to work 8 hours or more a day, you have to quit it. Your mind and power have to be at the game.
2) You have to be talented at dota. If you dont have talent for this kind of game you will never reach 3k, no matter what amount of hours you will put into the game. Thats fine if you dont put yourself under pressure. Sure you know all these tips the guy told you but you still 2k? No problem but dont get stressed over it. You have other talents and it doesnt mean you cant enjoy the game in the same way a high mmr player does. It says nothing about you as a person or about your intelligence ec.

so what do you do if the enemy is nowhere and they are about to jump you? if they try to jump you where you are then you can't ward that area because you will die either way

@@monkeeru what if you are a carry who wants to farm? In long matches, I had cases where even farming my own jungle would get me jumped, I usually use radar but you can't really spam that
@@bird9188 if you are playing carry, when u see the map is empty, u need to be aware of where they are gonna smoke gank. U can also tell ur teammate to be aware of a smoke and counter gank them. Always use communication when u notice something is not right on the map

I do all af this yet i am still 1,5k player. All of this only matters a little. What does truly matter is your microskill. OpenAI bots proven it for real some time ago. There is no way around it. If you are bad at pressing keys you'd never improve.

sorry but staying calm towards chinese SEA players is impossible, I am a 7k player as well but I cannot stay calm when these players just doesn't know what to do, but I do just accept the fate and lose the game or just burst all out knowing I will get muted for sure and give up.
I think I ping too much on my games (checking inventory). There's this 1 game where I got muted without saying/typing anything. All i did was ping enemy items and spam "careful" (I don't have voice lines in my chat whell, all are useful phrases). It might be annoying, but I'll always ping key items on enemies so my team will remember.

4000 hours in dota.
21 win streak in ranked as carry.
1000+GPM and 1200+XPM often.
Played against full Ancient teams in premades and carried my team.
So how is it possible that after 10 wins, I end up on a 10 loss streak? Did I suddenly just get so bad?
The MMR system purposely keeps players in one bracket by combining absolutely terrible players who should be -1000 lower, with some like me who should be +1000 higher. This way the bad players never downrank and the good ones never rank higher. The only way up is with full premades of people you can trust.
all of these things are useless if you got A.I team mate. account buyer like my 8 recent games supports AFK , THROWER , ACCOUNT BUYER. , TOXIC.
