@@onethegogd5783 It was actually right at the start of 7.35 where the 25 talent +1.2s Blinding Light Stun was replaced by Chakra Magic Strong Dispels. Glad to hear that! Keep focussed on yourself instead of your allies and you're bound to improve. Both winning and losing games are always learning opportunities :)
started learning dota properly only recently, was just checkin out all your older videos and saw you just posted lmao. very informative stuff. I was placed at 1.1k mmr but fell to 600, hoping to climb back up.
Welcome to the greatest game in the world ;) It's a constant learning process, so don't worry about not being good off the bat. The climb will come with time. Best advice is to stick to a small pool of heroes and learn the game first, then start expanding your hero pool as you get more comfortable. Anything we can help with don't hesitate to ask and we'll make videos where we can or just comment directly :)
So happy I found this channel! The dota community really lacks this kinda content. A lot of people forget what is obvious to them is not obvious, I learn alot from your vids.
Very informative, i'll always keep this in mind. Tbh 2 weeks ago you only had like 600+ subs (I thnk??) Now the channel blew up congrats man you deserve it!
Glad you like it! It might seem like a small touch but in reality they were a multi-day effort to get fully going how we wanted lol. What we did in the time before Crownfall dropped because we thought we'd be getting a gameplay patch that would make any video we did immediately irrelevant :/ Imagine the awkward moment when we realised it was a cosmetics patch at first lol
hii love the focus on the current update, but it's not really mentioned in the video. would be awesome to see it at least once somewhere in the video ^^
More to come for sure! The algorithm blessed us on the Nullifier video and we've been trying to surf the tidal wave of new viewers ever since. We'll keep up the grind so long as you all keep watching and letting us know what you want to know about
Also, sidequestion, since there currently ARE problems with wide-public hex itemization in the eyes of Valve, Did they contact you to spread some popularity on this stick, or your own thing completely? They kinda like PR, one must say... :-)
hi, great item break down video. can you please do armlet in your next video? It's always been a mystery how this item works and how should I toggle it effectively. thank you

Glad you enjoyed! Out of curiosity: where in the world are you? We've realised our audience is becoming truly international and are beginning the process of creating closed captions for our videos to enable those who don't speak english very well (or struggle to understand Phil's New Zealand accent) to be able to use subtitles in their own language and fully understand the information we're sharing. Our goal is always to make what we share as simple to understand as we can and we're fully aware that a language barrier can be a huge issue :)
@@iaroslaveremin4613 greetings! We'll see how adding russian subtitles goes and if they are any use being auto translated through our English ones. Please let us know on our next upload coming out later today ☺️
Valve can never make anything simple, always gotta be a bunch of exceptions to every rule :'( A video on Break is in the pipeline! Just got a few other things to get done first
Most carries in low bracket always neglect this item (esp. OD and Lina). As a support I always priorities this in late game to lockdown almost all enemy carry. Its so sad so many players dont know how OP this item is on late game
Thank you! Yes, we realise the videos can be a bit long, but there's so much detail to cover with just one aspect of the game that it's hard to make shorter videos without sacrificing some information - then we inevitably get comments from people saying we forgot something :( We just can't win sometimes lol. Glad you enjoy it though. We're constantly trying to figure out just what is key to explain in each video and what can be covered in other videos. As we get more and more videos out they should get shorter and shorter as we will have already explained things in previous videos
We're hoping that in an upcoming patch there are items introduced which also increase Debuff duration. Otherwise we'll cover it when we discuss Status Resistance ☺️
Good video, i have one question about passive and active effects: So bristleback passive or necrophos heartstop aura are working in a pig form? What about radience? And what about blademail it's working in hex?
Great question! Yes all passive effects remain active during the duration of Hex. The only way to suppress passive effects is by applying Break to a unit, which disables passives which are tied to skills. Passives tied to items however, can not be suppressed in any way. That means Radiance, Vlads, Blademail etc. are always on no matter what. If an enemy triggers the active of blademail and is then hexed, they will still fully reflect all the damage they receive with reflection calculated based on the active effect of Blademail. Hope this helps :)
Actually maybe the best offensive utility item any support hero could ever buy, aside from maybe blink. Anytime I'm rolling in gold i buy one, as a support its basically a guaranteed win if you managed to buy one before the enemy carry has a BKB (yes im a 2-3k mmr scrub)
Blink and Hex are an insane combination in late game scenarios. Cores very rarely are open to buying an Aeon Disk so Scythe can get some massive value for sure
When Slark casts Dark Pact, there is a strong dispel that applies after a delay. If you Hex him between the cast and the spell popping then he dispels the hex. If you jump him before he casts Dark Pact then he can't dispel it
Glad you enjoyed it! Once we've gone through all the mechanics we want to cover: we'll certainly start pivoting to cover more holistic concepts like how to have more impact when you start the game on the back foot :)
why does AOE piercing disables like RP / Blackhole / Curse affect slark with bkb under shadow dance but not Overgrowth of Treant?! my mind always hits overgrowth when slark tries to shadow dance TP but he just leaves
Overgrowth requires being able to see the hero in order to have the effect trigger on them. You can test it by using Overgrowth against a Riki without detection and it doesn't root him. Since Slark is immune to detection while in Shadow Dance: Overgrowth can not root him. Other skills like Black Hole don't require you to be able to see the hero but for them simply to be in the effected area.
Hello! Based on your question it sounds like this is an early game issue. Biggest tip is to stop trying to save lost lanes. Especially as supports, it's easy to get baited into trying to salvage losing lanes and instead feeding that lane further. You need to play around the parts of the map that you're strongest and enable your players who struggled in the early stages to recover passively. If you're a core player who is struggling, it's usually to do with lack of awareness of the global state of the map. Pay more attention to the minimap and once you know the heroes who pose kill threat on you are somewhere else on the map you need to whip out into a lane and push it as hard as you reasonably can, then retreat and farm your way back to safety. If you know someone TP rotated though: run further away (preferably behind a ward which you can farm behind). Having a keen awareness at all stages of the game of which heroes can kill you 1v1 as opposed to which heroes require a +1 to kill you can inform a lot of your decisions as to when you can trade farm vs when you have to leave a lane if you're on the back foot. If it's the latest stages of the game and your hero has the potential to burst kill waves: cutting waves is a great strategy to find farm while indirectly affecting your enemies' ability to take objectives. It's a hard skill to execute and often leaves you susceptible to being picked off so you need to have a TP available when things get hairy. Hope this helps :)
We've got a whole video in the pipeline which will cover how illusions work and all the unique interactions they have! Keep your eyes peeled as it will certainly talk about Anti-Mage
Great question! If an enemy has an active BKB when you apply the Hex to them, then the effect will be suppressed until the end of the Avatar duration. If any of your Hex duration remains after the duration of Avatar then it will be applied for the remaining duration. If you apply Hex before they can activate their BKB though, then you will get the full duration since they can't activate items while hexed.
There's so much to cover just in a single item or skill, that talking about heroes as a whole can be quite long-winded. Once we've gone through all the mechanics and gotten people up to speed: then we'll start covering why certain heroes are starting to become popular and what makes them work :)
I used to play competitively in South African leagues, I have turned games before by selling everything when losing just to afford one and it has solo won games when their carries don't expect it.
A clutch Hex can certainly turn otherwise losing engagements. Back in the day it was much easier to get a Hex reveal. Now with the ability to near constantly check item inventory's hyper aware players can see it coming. But can still catch plenty of players with their pants down
