We got on the ball and made sure it was seen through to the end. We recorded it in Dave's room-mate's basement. kurt advertised bands like the melvins, pixies, and all those great underground/indie/alternative bands, and he also wasn't shy about the fact that nirvana was heavily influenced by them. kurt did everything he could to help all those bands out, i respect him for that, but bands like that don't need popularity to solidify their careers!
@hensly77 yeah, they were done, pretty much. I bet you kurt would have ended up doing what A.A bondy from verbena started doing. (they were a hard rock band... loud and raw like nirvana, but more bleusy,) then Verbena broke up and he's doing this really cool Folk thing.
Nirvana would of eventualy faded in to obscurity after the grunge fad died if Kurt wouldnt of offed himself.I remember hearing Micheal Stipe saying that he was through with Nirvana and wanted to do something different,it is sad for him not to be around and see the potential music he would of made
@leminyelloblak The only violent thing about Cobain is the slogan he had written on his guitar that read: "VANDALISM: AS BEAUTIFUL AS A ROCK IN A COP'S FACE" But even that sounds more like a plea with his younger fans not to follow in his foot steps and damage other people's property because it wouldn't seem as cool to law enforcement as it might to them. You said this song is violently beautiful. That's like saying johann sebastian bach wrote biopolar melodies. So, I pressed the pig button.

Sadly most of the songs sound inferior because of loudness and over compression of the songs. Wish this pratice would stop because it is ruining whole bands catalogs. Lazy freaking master people!

I guess I just hear someone using a negative word like violent in order to describe a song that does something so positive for me and I automatically think the worst. To me, there's something far more violent about making smarmy, slanderous youtube comments than there is about any of the songs that this guy came up with. I could care less if you have a problem with hearing that. This is the comment section of a public forum.
I think the WTLO box set has an alternate mix. It's impossible to just remove the lighter from the mix. I love the mix with the lightner the most. I agree with you on the Loudness War. Whole band catalogs are raped. I think 'Nevermind Deluxe' sounds like crap in comparison to the 1991 pressing. Therefore I haven't bought that box and have downloaded mp3's instead. I do have the WTLO box, but consider the sound quality comparable to a bootleg. (Also the studio recordings.)
