The 90s were so great on so many levels...it's all just shit now. Literally everything.
Have hope. The reason rock is dead is no one takes the time to listen to new rock. You always listen to the same shit you did 30 years ago. You might find new bands you like

Such a troubled mind, such a beautiful and creative mind. It took all our anger from our hard to fit teenage years and filtered it into shout and music. I was fortunate to be part of it, to dance to nonsense, to sing, jump and push all over to feel part of a universe that unveiled ahead of me. It was wonderful, I enjoyed every second of my troubled teenage years, thank you Kurt.
Well said. These songs are so Nostalgic to me now. I used to smoke bud and listen to Nevermind while trying to put together a jigsaw puzzle... weird memories everytime I hear this music!

I'd been collecting Sub Pop records and bought Bleach on really limited green vinyl a while before, no-one had heard of them. I thought, yeah this band is going be be huge. So when they announced they were playing Reading had to get a ticket. Not long after this festival, Smells Like Teen Spirit came out and they were huge. I remember Kurt jumping into the drum kit at the end - great ending but wow, it looked painful.

Kurt always looked so badass! As a kid I never knew about his “problems “ or that he didn’t like the fame. To me he was a rockstar and one cool dude!
This footage is pure gold
I didn't know maynard james keenan was a back up dancer
who knew
I totally thought it was him too at first. No joke. Have a +1
@Real Poetry Hahahaha! No shit.
"i know the dance steps fit"
@@krisfrederick5001 Brothers Quay!
Kurt sending all his love to the crowd playing Love Buzz off the stage...I'm bursting into tears! He was,is and always will be THE BEST OF THE 90'S MUSIC! Period!
come as you are opens a whole universe ... it's like we live inside a waterfall, with all that watery reverberation ... what a masterpiece ...
What I especially love bout this performance is that it's outdoors AND IN DAYLIGHT. Don't see that very often at a Nirvana gig
Itchy Dupa cause after this they headlined every show they did! This was literally days before they exploded!!
They played a festival in Germany the next day. It's a shorter set, but I feel a better set. Some shows they are more on than others. You can see it also on UA-cam.
@@Michael----- link?
@@hellojelen2598 1:13 who's that weird dude?
@@bradford_shaun_murraythat’s the interpretive dancer, Tommy. He just dances around the entire time.
His voice was still good back then. Because he was not stoned so much as he was in the late 1993. Also this version of Come as You Are is my favorite one! 15:09
From India i am happy to see this of music in 2016 .,.. i wish i was there 25 years ago this is something i need in my life
I wonder if this crowd knew what they were really hearing! They were hearing the anthem to a new type of music that changed music FOREVER!!!
THANK YOU NIRVANA
Did you hear how quiet they were during Smells like teen spirit? They hadnt heard it before, it was released the next month, nobody knew how huge it would become
I was there. We knew they were something special belive me
I was there we new…
@@kilburncounty indeed though I preferred Mudhoney
Really cool of Maynard to come out and dance with Nirvana!
Just graduated High School 1990. I always wished I had grown up in the 60s because all of my heros Hendrix, Clapton, Page, Iommi, Howe...all came out of that era...I had no idea that I was living through the last great movement in Rock, and in a small way, was a part of it. The 90s were so great on so many levels...it's all just shit now. Literally everything.
It’s not ALL shit, you just have to look around.
Yeah there’s a lot of good bands around, you must not be looking hard enough
I was part of the underground banjo movement of the mid to late 90s so I don't know what you're talking about man. We was lit.
Great van fleet . Metalica . Rage against the machine etc etc
Have hope. The reason rock is dead is no one takes the time to listen to new rock. You always listen to the same shit you did 30 years ago. You might find new bands you like
if i could go back in time just one single time in my life I dont think I could resist picking a nirvana show
Моя любимая группа! Все честно и по-настоящему! Вечная память стилю и голосу Курта! ✊ БЕЛАРУСЫ МАЮЦЬ РАЦЫЮ! ✌️✌️
One of the best Nirvana's live performance ;)
kurt jumping to the drum...memorable... legend.
Kurt was definitely one of us.
I think this was the peak of Kurt's voice.
Absolute ripper of a set. Kurt in particularly great voice.
For those that weren't around, this is before Nevermind was released, Nirvana were not unknown but early in the bill and for many of us, this was the first time we head them live- blew us away - Ace !!
I wonder whatever happened to Tony the Interpretive Dancer. Bless him.
***** no, I didn't mean it like that at all. I just meant it affectionately. I have idea at all where he is or what he's doing now.
***** lol, it's not weird, it's just a very English phrase, I think!

Simon Waldram @2010
Simon Waldram What is the full name of the dancer?
That front row is wild! The 90s was such a great time for festivals, I sure do miss that scene.
After that, music would never been the same.
Tony is my spirit animal
Tony is my teen spirit 😂
@@vinifryderyk4306 i think tony is the shit
Dammmmm boy tony got the groove
I will forever be jealous of Dancing Tony. Dancing Tony is a legend.
Watching Kurt do his thing is like watching one of those old Blues or Appalachian folk musicians, the realness and rawness of it is hypnotizing
Kurt was a rock n roll machine ......no more words!
i love how he deals with guitar failures and improvises so well. And the solos are amazing!
I felt the same dude. Its a nice vision you did
Às@ss@@1
Such cheerful vibes. These videos just make life in the 21st century better.
Kurt, what a guitar player!
I was stoned out of my face.... Amazing to see this again...thank you....They came on at about 1 in the afternoon...
If I could go back in time I would travel to this concert, grab a beer and let Nirvana destroy my brain.
If I could go back in time I would save Kurt or Freddie Mercury.
Cliff Burton and Dimebag Darrell and Layne Staley too
Nirvana live in 1991, there is nothing better in the history of the world
We need a 2020 interview with tommy the interpretive dancer stat
We got it. Watch the documentary "when Nirvana came to the UK"
I'm danceing like tony when nobody at home Lol
jajaja me too
Then ur cute😁
My band just got my friend to dance like dancing tony we are gonna use him at a show
Me to
Same here.
39:07 is where he actually jumps into the drums
'Interpretive dancer'! LOL. Certainly looks like a terrific gig. Wish I'd been there. Such an innovative band, I love NEVERMIND, can't believe it's the 30th anniversary of such a ground-breaking album.
8/23/2019 STILL in love with Kurt Cobain and his visceral and massive talents... I want to be with him then...and now some days...🤷🏽♀️❤️💯😪
Sweet jesus this priceless footage....kurt was such a fucking awesome frontman in those early years especially...so crazy animated
I was at this festival in 91, and saw this live, I think it was around midday and it was a great set.
Do you still have that vinyl?
Absolutely fucking PHENOMENAL when KURT smashes into the drum set!!!! He was so crazy beautiful! BEST FRONTMAN OF ALL TIME.
Kind of shit that's makes me super grateful for youtube. Saw pictures of this concert in my Nirvana books, looked so raw. Thanks for uploading!
Happy 51th Anniversary Kurt!
Forever Missed!
This is awesome, thank you. Loved the different angles of the jump at the end. Thank you for taking your time to make this for us.
I was there in the moshpit 21 years old seeing Nirvana for the first time having the time of my life ❤🔥
i dont think ive ever seen kurt so into the music until watching this yay
It’s crazy to see Kurt moving around this much on stage, then I realize it’s been awhile since I watched a 1991-prior Nirvana show. :/ wish his passion and energy could’ve stayed this way💔
I particularly love this performance of Come as you are. this is my favorite of their live shows aside from unplugged in NY
The one from Seattle 93' is also super amazing.
They most definitely were a special band. One of the greatest in my lifetime for sure.
"Here we are now, entertain us" just put it all into perspective back then. It all made sense.
holy crap. it makes so much sense realizing how different of a time as well as the style of living of the 90s
Grohl on drums really made nivarna such a powerful dynamic player....
That jump into the drum kit was a epic moment.
I read he dislocated his shoulder from it
@@kurtpountney5747 He did. In the interview there his arm was in a sling.
