I mean I did🤷🏼♂️ like yeah the price isn’t great, I wish it had a hotshoe. I don’t use flashes and didn’t have any issues to my surprise of no mechanical shutter. Yeah record limits kinda are stinky but with the amount of people saying that I feel like that will change in a firmware update which is things I said in my videos🤷🏼♂️

I have wanted that hybrid zoom feature on the G9 forever. Perfect for my primes. Not just a couple steps like it has now, but 10 or 20 steps

No camera today should have a recording limit or overheating issue , Having all the features does not even make it a B camera. As a travel camera or very short form recording or a expensive toy/mess/around camera is a nice to have . I could be wrong but Panasonic miss the mark yet again IMHO.
You have to consider the use case. It’s not a professional camera. It’s definitely gonna fit in a lot of use cases. Even though I have a camera with unlimited recording. I rarely find myself shooting shots longer than 5 mins most of the time. So I’m sure it has its use cases

The S9 looks good. S9 reminds me of the Panasonic GM1 and GX850, both great camera.

i wouldn't say it's sick. hahaha but it's definitely attractive on an extremely subjective level lol. They hit it on the nail in the looks department.
features are OK for what it's aiming at.
okay with all the record limits, but i think it prolly would have done better for itself if there was at least ONE mode that didn't have any limits. I think many would be okay with a 1080p 4:2:0 unlimited recording for longer random vlogs.
And then limit all the high res 4k stuff cause yeah, most regular people shoot short clips anyway. make everything easy to share, everyone prolly might end up shooting more.

Dude yes! If they can remove the record limit or make it like 30 minutes for 3.8k (open gate 4k) that would have done so much better!

Cute camera, but very bad value for money. If you have money to spare....nice little travel camera, imho not suitable as a B cam for many use cases due to recording limits. And then again....why would you even need a FF camera for travel? Creators could do very well with a "cheaper" camera... Or more ambitious ones could just snag a (used) S5ii for virtually the same price. Curious to see how well this camera does for Panasonic.

The tag “Almost Perfect” is something that is just being thrown around like a butt of cigarette lately. If something is “Almost Perfect”, it should lack 1-2 max of important specs only. Thats it. The S9 sounds great but come on. Just because Lumix added the LUT Button, you get to ignore the important bits like hot shoe, missing headphone jack, ergonomics, recording limits and more.
Yeah for sure, but I think I guess I reference almost perfect for who this camera was designed for not the almost perfect camera because it is far from that of course. For me when I first started out I wanted a camera that could record 4k and it had a 30 minute limit at a good price. My first camera didn’t mechanical shutter, headphone jack, etc. if they lower the price, and add a 30 minute limit for who this camera is designed for this could be a great intro camera into the full frame system.
Lumix needs NEW users, beginners, people just getting started out into the lumix full frame ecosystem, they just missed the park with the price and other limitations too
Electronic shutter... in artificial light you can hit banding. The pancake should have been F2.8 AF. I wonder how easy you hit banding at night on the street. My use case is stills, not video- so maybe not for me.

@@MatthewDangyou Thanks. I think I am going to pass due to the rolling shutter I am seeing and the risk of banding. For many night shots banding can be avoided choosing a low shutter speed, but anything at speeds to freeze subjects will runt he risk of ruining a great photo- kinda rolling the dice on showing up vs not.

@jimgiraffe5253 you don’t even watch the entirety of people’s videos and make assumptions🤷🏼♂️ use the camera and see for yourself. Most of all the UA-cam videos talk about the cons. Just because this camera isn’t for filmmakers or professionals doesn’t mean there isn’t an audience for it.
