My hopes are so high for the GH7, with how the S line is right now, I could almost switch back to micro 4/3 when the Gh7 comes out, we'll see

Lack of mechanical shutter is a big miss. This is a parts bin camera to cap on the fuji film sim craze. Such a disappointment.

2 S5IIX's one on me and one as the wide shot. the close up on Matt was the G85
To also be fair (wide angle was shot in 1080 on the S5iiX), Nigel S5iiX 4K, and me on the G85 I believe on Cinelike D in 4K? But the S5iiX both in VLOG
This looks like a great camera for hobbyist Gen-Z photographers & creators, but I'd take an S5ii for youtube and filmmaking
That is who it is designed for! But once they put these features into the S5ii or S5iiX. You are buying the convenience at the end of the day for travel and a everyday camera. It would be a good broll camera but the record limits do make it hard for UA-camrs to buy. Even if they had a 30 minute limit that would be so much better for everyone. They do want to protect the camera from over heating but hopefully they will let us control the temperature gauge like the g9ii to let the camera record longer
I'm sorry, there's a record limit in 1080p that's only eight minutes longer THAN THE 5D MARK TWO'S?!?!?! I struggle to see how the camera's even good for content creators who make anything longer than TikTok content at that threshold.
The imax film camera that Oppenheimer was filmed on could on film for about 3-5 minutes
@@LumixGang I understand that argument but most people buying a camera like this probably aren't shooting a narrative feature. For someone like me using it as a second angle for a doc interview, podcast of longer youtube talking head segment, it's just not gonna cut it. I like the size but I'm personally gonna hold out for the next iteration and or a 2nd S5II instead

@@RhettThompsonFilm Not my point, but I see where I screwed up in my writing. It seems like people who’d wanna make anything that extends BEYOND the bite-sized content of TikToks and UA-cam shorts would be limited by this camera. It’s not unworkable, but placing a record limit on 1080p is a steep ask for $1,500 IMO. There are better beginner options.
@@LumixGang yeah who'd shoot 15-20 mins on *IMAX FILM STOCKS* it's expensive af. no one shoots continuously on any cinema cameras, be it super35 or 15perf 70. i know you're reaching and grasping straws and tryna get in good graces with Panasonic but omg your S9 glazing is all over the fkin place chill tf out bruh.
We need Nikon and to adopt Red tech into the Nikon cameras.
I've had the GH4 and am using GH6. I recently decided that I'll be switching to mirrorless full frame. I've been waiting for the S1h Mark II but they're taking their sweet time 🫠. I think longtime M4/3's users are in the same boat with me. It's just time to move on when you've been shooting video for so long to mirrorless full frame.
Jordan from PETA Pixel thought he was being flown to Japan for the new S1H. Imagine that let down.

I think it should maybe have been 1299. It’ll probably drop to that price pretty quick and stay there with some luck!
I think if they dropped the price and updated the firmware that removed the record limit so we could add a fan and use it longer than 15 minutes, I could see it being decent

Seems like a worse s5ii in every way for almost the same price. The in camera lut stuff is cool, but ultimately doesn't seem that useful over the real time lut functionality. Looks like an expensive, pretty, not that useful toy camera.

@@sdhute There will be no unbiased review made simply because al You Tubers has their preferences, make money of click and views of You Tube or has a certain type of photography or videography that they are practiced. Also many does not have a technical or business science background to build a scientifically test methodology.

@@nigelbarrostoo I think what he is indicating is not that a person is paid. However the expectation from Lumix to only see a positive review from someone who went. Therefore it’s biased.
You look at this beefy lens while saying this camera is small.... The camera is only as small as the lens at the end. Besides this shitty pencake lens there's no small lens in the lineup that suits the form factor of the camera. Maybe some sigma or Canon prime lenses, but Panasonic needs to get some small lenses on the market. And u don't mean the 20-40 (or so) that will come in fall. I mean some fix pancake lens (28/35/40) f2 with af would be nice. I will buy this camera, but I want a small af lens from Panasonic for this as a selling point in a bundle or so
true af. Panny right now has the best IBIS performance seeing from the reviews, so they could basically abandon OIS and make some small f2-2.8 AF pancake lenses.
