Hey Satori if you go down the AWB rabbit hole you may never come out so many great songs probably one of the most underrated funk & soul groups in the history of music.
They're underrated because of the phenomenal competition during that era. Even if it was just the white musicians. There was Boz Scaggs and Steely Dan; but no, the Funk, R&B, Jazz/Fusion, Disco genres were titanic. That being said, I don't consider AWB underrated, just underplayed by music stations.
Their "Queen Of My Soul" is a song about the love of music. Something I'm sure we all have in common. On that subject, I like Natalie Cole's "Mr. Melody". I'm also a fan of Boz Scaggs and Steely Dan. Music is colorblind.
I was a sophomore in hi school and everyone thought they were black. They were influence by James Brown Sam Cook etc. This was back in 73. Saw them in Asbury Park N.J. damn good show. One of my favorite bands.
