Your helping me so much its unreal, im a guy that never cooks, i need to save money and stop overspending on takeout.. thanks for helping me on my journey you make everything super simple to follow! 🥰
Made this one last night for dinner. It turned out great, I accidentally poured in the whole 16 oz jar of salsa so I added another 1/2 cup of brown rice and it came out great. I will make it again however I think I'll add some frozen corn to it for a little extra. Thanks.
I made this last night for dinner..it was awesome. I did put frozen chicken in it and it turned out perfect. thank you and I find a lot of your recipes and hints very helpful.. I only cook for 2 but always have leftovers. I was terrified of the Instant pot but now I love it. My daughter bought it for me and im glad she did.. I still love a crock pot but the instant pot is great if we need a dinner fast
Thank you. Turned out well. Made it with the less water as you suggested to get a thicker, less watery final dish. Used fresh chicken and removed the skin but cooked with the bones in (removed the bones when I put the leftovers away.). Added a tablespoon of olive oil. When done I added on top; some cheap shredded ‘mexican’ cheese from the supermarket which melted, and green olives. Did you brown rice. My salsa seemed bland (to my surprise) to be some, I added a little hot sauce; glad you mentioned that this is the key to the flavor.👍
Never washed your hands after handling raw chicken. Take a hint, little oil in bottom of pot, sautée chicken for a few minutes before adding rest of the ingredients. Browns the chicken for much more flavor. Intriguing recipe, I’ll try it. Thanks for your work on the channel.
Thank you for the easy peasy recipes. I just bought a chamber vacuum sealer so I can make recipes like this and vacuum seal single serving sized portions.
I love your recipes. Prayers for you and your family. The links aren’t working I will try them again later. I love herdez salsa been eating it for years.
I love your recipes I tried your balsamic chicken with Italian dressing and rice my family enjoyed it thanks Karen for such easy tasty recipes Also could I sub sausage for chicken in rice and beans if so how long
Thank you for providing substitutions, especially for vegetarians. I’ve got everything I need including vegetarian chicken bullion for flavor. I’ll just cut back on salt!
@@tanmay_6363 Yes, dry beans usually take about 60 minutes to cook in the instant pot on high pressure. Since they do not have the same cook time as the rice and meat, and require much more water, I would not recommend using dry beans!
My recipe calls for a can of black beans out of convenience. If you have dried beans that you would like to cook and use follow these steps: Add ¾ cup of black beans into your Instant Pot with 2 cups of water. Cover the pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 25 minutes. When time is up let the pot sit for 10 minutes then move valve to venting. Remove the lid. Rinse the beans and drain them. Use them in the recipe below.
I make a lot of rice, Brown, white, jasmine, etc, I've tried rinsing and not rinsing and honestly I can't tell the difference so for the last year or more I haven't rinsed any of it. Your mileage may vary,
I keep getting the burn warning. I‘m using the 6 quart IP like you. What am I doing wrong? It doesn’t matter if I stir the mixture before starting the pressure cooking or not!
From what I've seen, the problem occurs when rice is stirred and settled on the bottom resulting in burning. Notice she sprinkled the rice onto the water.
You would solve your chicken problem if you would have put a little oil in the pot placed it on sautée and browned the chicken before adding the other ingredients. The dish develops much more flavor when you sautée the meat first. Thanks for your posting.
What about recipes pot 3 quart instant pot because all the recipes I've heard so far is 4/6 quart or 8-quart so can you please give me some kind of ideas please thank you
Hi, every time I make rice it seems to come out all sticky even Basmati in my instant pot. What am I doing wrong? I do equal water with rice and cook on manual pressure high for 6-8 mins and let the pressure decrease naturally. If anyone knows or has tips? I'd appreciate it.

Can I used dried black beans?
Thanks for the recipe, it looks really good. Question, should you wash your hands after touching meat before touching everything else?
Yes I should!!

As I appreciate the recipe and I'll give it go I just suggest rinsing any rice until the water runs clear, other than that thank you for your recipe 👍

You may need more water. And I think you're specifically not supposed to stir, for this reason.
From what I've seen, the problem occurs when rice is stirred and settled on the bottom resulting in burning. Notice she sprinkled the rice onto the water.
Your printed recipe calls for 1 cup of brown rice, but in the video you say that it calls for 3/4 cup of brown rice. Which is correct?

Okay, and a question. What if the chicken is not frozen? Will the chicken over cook?
I have some frozen bacon and cheddar chicken grillers. Do you think they could be cooked in the instant pot?
Hi Jeanne, I don't know what those are. Can you tell me more?
365 Days of Slow and Pressure Cooking I got them at our meat counter. They are basically stuffed chicken breasts.
@@jeannecarpenter2938 Oh gotcha. I bet you could cook them in the Instant Pot for about 15 mintues. They might be better baked in an oven though.
365 Days of Slow and Pressure Cooking from frozen though?
