These sit down chats are great to watch. Excellent episode.
I was a stagehand back in the 80s, when every guitar player had two 18 units high racks of gear and you could never hear the difference in the sounds. And then Toto came and Bob was Steve‘s guitar backliner. And all over sudden, every guitar sound made sense.

Eric Garland it makes me embarrassed because cults are stupid and anything that puts a label on a group or on top of that has a label associated with a "leader"...its just all around stupid and embarrassing, it makes me cringe. It is just as weird as the blind PLEASE GIRLS COME PLEASE attitude. All of that distracts from talking about the information and simply making music.

haha... actually some guitar pedals work nice with certain keyboards, obviousely rhodes, wurltzer and hammond. But what guitarplayers need pedals for we already got as part of our synths... sorry to say that but this shows me how seriousely underrated instruments synths are... an lfo can act as a tremolo, chorus or can modulate a variety of sources... and then envelopegenerators add further possibillities so for instance you can create a reverb-kind-of tale with adding release time to the filter and amp. and we haven't even talked about the onboard effects yet!
I remember The Edge from U2 used synth (possibly Big ARP analog synth) as a effect pedal when making album POP. He did some weird stuff like playing acoustic going thru distortion or synth.
