If you had 3-4 mangos in that fight as support you would have killed most Landsknechts and smoked teal and most cataphracts would have survived and be able to heal, cataphracts can only shine with a support unit, the amount of damage they took against the Landsknecht was ridiculous tho
Idk why you popped the wololo so soon at 33:00, if you waited till they fully committed they wouldnt have been able to dodge out of it
cata should've charged, then attack ground so that teal's units would've gotten surrounded by the cataphracts and only then popped wololo

Without using olive oil and by relocating halfway across an 8 player map, I think you lose too much tempo. Also you weren’t using flask. Hippo + 1st cistern is an interesting combo though, one the devs probably intended to be paired.
Drongo: "Why was I so slow? What could I have done differently? All I did was forget to build cisterns for the first 20 minutes of the game and relocated my entire base to the other side of the map...what could have slowed me down I wonder?"
Drongo, you should have used the Cataphracts to surround teal army then pop Wololo, pretty sure that would win you the game. I'm waiting for you to try this again.
Even if catafract are powerful, you need a front line and a back line (archers or mangos). And of course you need biology 😂

This strat but with silk road camel warriors would go so hard. Half the obnoxious interactions with enemy knights/crossbows would just go away and they would still have armor that is solid like your cataphracts age 4 when you go with the big siege landmark. Camels are light but have high ranged armor with the landmark, so they make attack moving crossbows into your cataphracts be super inefficient as the crossbows would be spending a lot of time on units that are resistant to them (Units that crossbows get the bonus against die quickly, units with ranged armor AND no bonus damage? The crossbow will get stuck and need a lot of hits.) So the crossbow matchup gets more micro dependent (Which costs your enemies in other areas and invites them to make mistakes.) Order of dragon knights? I doubt they fight catapharcts all that well with camel fear.
Palatine school is good, but the market rates for oil past selling for fast castle get bad so it feels like a waste to basically delete 8k resources for a low return, instead camels give the cataphracts extra toughness gimmicks (Mixing in a high armor light units into your heavy unit ball and camel fear,) they help you max out earlier, but because they are batch created they will never block you from building cataphracts, and big siege is big siege which is helpful for securing kills.
Plus if you need to do an infantry switch, your limitanei + vangrians ball with +2 armor from the camels would be unkillable.

Catas are the most pop efficient unit in the game sure, but that's literally the only thing going for them, let them be viable at least in this scenario😢
You should always build a cistern inside the walls of your keep and hook it to and thru the wall to the other 5 cistern's .That way you always have the cistern's boost.
those cataphracts got shredded by being in the center of a landsknecht mass LOLL, i would've done better (i'm a silver)
You forgetting cisterns reminds me of myself trying out Malian "cow boom" and forgetting to make Ranches 😅

Drongo do you play with auto-drink of the cistern flasks on? I find it's best as I never remember to micro the drinking.
It works only inside the cistern radius though, right?

The thing about chadaphract is that you need that extra pop for vills to afford replacing chadaphract. So their population efficiency isnt as good as you think it is.

the issue in that fight against teal was the missing hippodrome
no biology, no keeps to defend, no siege, late stonewalls and absolutely scuffed the wololo, the migration strat was risky at best but it could have worked if the whole thing wasnt so badly put together.

what a bad Byzantine player Drango, doesn't connect the cisterns with aqueducts and drinking bottle is not used automatically. and hardly any olive oil fields.

Maybe use both abilities from your landmarks, they are both good.
i think u lost too much time on migrating . this should be able to work if u get a good spawn at the start and boom harder . second tc to fast imp sounds a good addition by you
Catas are an F tier unit, they're cool and people try to make it work but it's always a bait
build a couple to dive artillery if you want, otherwise you're better off MaA and xbow and zerg'ing Limitanei as reinforcements

Only 20 minutes in and I already can say that this 'stategy' is a waste of time.
I dont understand why he is looking for green king at the start of the game, when he has pink one literally around corner, that doesnt make sense..
😂I think he misunderstood which king had been killed because he didn't fully read the chat. I'm pretty sure the pink one was there and he just forgot about it.
I wonder if you built a bit too much of a cataphract mass. Everyone was focusing on each other, and instead of going imperial or building TCs, you built a mass that you didn't use offensively or defensively. That would have given you a better economy so you could've built up the same mass plus upgrades by the time the two players teamed up on you
the problem is having only one type of unit is not enough also you didit use all the bz power you eco was week you where fixing it but you died before it pays off

Why does it seem that they always spawn next to each other? Let's go devs drongo can't keep this game going by himself y'all need to pitch in a every now and then. But I've watched all his ffa vids so it would be nice if you stopped spawning everyone "randomly" right next to each other.
This is EVERY frign game at this point! Seriously it's dumb and half of the players quit before the game even starts due solely to their spawn being trash. CMON DEVS
