I think an imperial age transition into Landsknecht would've helped you Drongo. Low food cost, uses your excessive amounts of gold, and a good counter to the infantry comps you were up against.

Ive actually seen multiple ealry keep mid sacred sites wins in ffa nomad.. usually the players on the side focus on the neighbours and start to late to attack the mid

I'm pretty certain it's a comradery thing. They team and then fight amongst each other after. Helps to make their player base seem stronger. At least that's my perspective...

For late game imperial OOTD is absolutely OP, if you know how to manage them properly. And if you have relics you’re set!
Not surprisingly. There’s a reason why people dont go for the middle. Even with a gifted king and all the relics still rough.

Diplomats is important in FFA, I once trick 4 player into killing each other while I just relocated my whole base and win the game.
Stone walls and relics in defensive structures would have been big. Simuktaneous pushes are justs o likeky in the middle though
Drongo, You clearly have great theory knowledge of the game but seem to struggle to remember everything you know you should do in the heat of the moment…
Therefore I would really recommend you writing down a checklist on a piece of paper to have all the important steps at a quick glance while you play:
- feudal techs researched?
-prepping prelates for castle age transition?
-blacksmith built?
Castle age:
-move relics to defensive structures
-start building stone walls in important spots, gradually expand
- check on all relevant upgrades
Imp:
-build university
-build cannon towers everywhere
+ civ specific adjustments:
Example: Vs china: go into mass Culvs + landsknecht

Building towers with emplacements + reliques inside would be much better than a 2nd monasty.... also didn't get the upgrade in imperial for the additional resources from reliques... with this strat i would not even go aachen to be honest. You will have enough resources and if you spam knights in the midgame you also might want to have some upgrades for them

i like the fact that drongo is like the rest of us and has ocd with his farms, everytime i see all the pros puting their farms down in whatever way i get triggered

you had so much stone and relics . Should have spammed outposts and bombards when you had the chance to do so . 2k in stone for keeps and defensive stand points and spam out more production you had this game for sure.

what is he clicking at 21:35 so that the vills go to their own field? is it double right click?
I believe just clicking on a farm will make it go to the nearest available farm
As an HRE player watching Aussie put a monastery down and not think to instantly go to towers for his relics is super cringe lol

Hi all, maybe you can help me… I really want to join this new Dominion format in Quick Play FFA but my Xbox has never found a game with Dominion Active.
I’m in Quick Play with Cross Plat and Cross Input both on, FFA filter is on and all other options (1v1,2v2 etc) are off but I only find the usual Nomad games with Landmarks, SS’s and Wonder - no Dom…
Please can someone advise? Many many thanks if you can help… I simply must find a way to embarrass myself on one of these casted games 😂

If you make it to the last 3 and 2 players are from the same country, they're gonna have a preference to take out the other guy first, regardless of whether they know each other or not.
I'm not saying they collaborated, and not saying it's limited to individual countries. It's just natural bias
Settles in the middle of the map, gets hit from two sides, and thinks they are teaming... Cmon lol
If there were teaming or not you were the closest player to both of them, going in the middle is indeed just very risky haha

From a civ level no without compromising 1v1. Though what should/could be balanced is the start
I very often find that the Chinese players will indeed avoid one another, until everyone else is dead. Sadly. It's not that they team so much, not from game to game, but rather just being the same nationality and thus being strongly biased to one another. Players of others nations do it too I must assume, but with the Chinese it's been really ... noticeable, shall we say, to me.
Has something to do with the national psyche at the moment. I do mean geopolitics. I do wish this doesn't translate too much in the world of AOE. One thing though. It's easier for you to notice because they have Chinese characters for names.
@@davidt02 I do agree, as I've seen Dutch players do it too. (I am myself Dutch, so recognize it easier as well.)
Either way, it's more about what than who in this case. It is just unfortunate it happens, even if it is very human to do so.
Drongo Chinese speakers are teaming up regardless, it's been happening almost every game I've played.
This game mode is really pissing me off lol. When you are gonna kill someone people just send their king to other players to deny your 50 extra pop. Reallyyyyy lame
I have played 9 so far and I'm avraging on 2 - 3 extra zoomed and map hacking players each time the hacking in this game is getting out of hand and I was worried this gamemode would be the worst for it.
Every season it's getting worse not better and i have not heard anything in regards to anyone ever getting banned. I useto rarly run into them now I can't escape them. At this rate I'll probably end up leaving the game

I played 8 myself and didnt notice any cheating.. why do you think they map hack? Do you habe proof?
@@moritzhellmann4061 because I watch my replays and the ones that I'm accusing don't scout anything but know where everything is and spend half there time looking into the fog. If you had not seen any then watch the replays and watch what is revealed to them and follow there camara. Also extra zoomed out but not all
@@moritzhellmann4061I watch the replays and the players I have reported have spent the early game looking into the fog proir and during the construction of there tc to see what everyone else is doing. Just watch the replays and follow there camera you will see. Also extra zoomed out.
i think it was smart from them. diplomacy is the biggest thing in ffa

In my opinion, I think they didn’t, just cause Drongo’s position so bad
