Hi David, firstly thank you, I learn so much from your videos and I’m loving Sunday Keys! Would you consider doing a video specifically for using this with the app? I see from a previous comment it’s doable. One of your ‘build it together’ style videos for those of us who are technically challenged would be a dream come true! X
Quick question. Where did you get the template for it you're using? The colored sections make it much easier to read. Edit. Just found your website. It would be amazing if you could create a template that could be used with it as a DAW controller. Where the pots and faders were in line and the same color. Excellent work. Considering ordering.
Should mention for people who have never used it, it is wired, so where you can put it is very much limited by where your laptop or computer is. It's an excellent device, but I'm moving to the Nano Korg Studio which is Bluetooth, so you can put it where ever you want..
Im getting one to use with an older keyboard with weighted keys but it doesn't have faders and knobs to adjust midi tracks in Ableton. This is exactly what I need
Can you program this controller to be used with stand alone instrument and synth software, such as addictive keys, or the arturia analog lab v software?
So if I understand correctly at around 7:10, changing the snapshot functions might not work as it does in Sunday Keys where I might label a bridge snapshot that brings up an organ sound? That would be at the wherever the slider was set no mater what the snapshot?
Thanks a lot, Team❤️..But I was asking about to it plug it in, I mean, how do we connect to the MIDI Keyboard and to the MacBook Pro...Love from India ❤️
Is the Sunday keys abelton template come midi mapped for the nanokontrol? Just recently got it but my nanokontrol is not controlling anything in ableton
Hi, just wanna ask, is there anyway to help me install or use Nano control 2 to my Korg N5ex, what software do I need to install, thank you very much God bless.
Have you any experience about Korg nanokontrol studio? İt is much more capable and it can connect through Bluetooth. I have one and even connect my keyboard through Bluetooth with yamaha Bluetooth adapter.ıt is great to play without a lot of cable hassle. However nanokontrol studio can not connect to my M1 pro 16 inch macbook pro. Have you any experience??
The best controller, is subjective. If you are just using to control a synth or a daw then nanokontrol2 is the best. But if your an organist wishing to control drawbars on a drawbar organ app then a subzero minicontrol is better as it has 9 faders, and most drawbar organs have 9 drawbars for both manuals. The subzero doesn’t have as many buttons but it has a cross fader and 4 scene memories, a 360 degree knob and it is also cheaper than the nanokontrol2. The only downside apart from the number of buttons is that the cross fader is not midi programmable so you would have to use midi learn In the app you are using it with. The original nanokontrol had 9 faders but they decided to change that with version 2.
Diggin your original DX7, sold mine in the late 80’s and wish I never did. Anyway this video sold me on this controller, I have the 5 octave Korg Microkey Air which I use 99% of the time now in my studio instead of the plethora of other midi synths and controller keyboards laying around here .. but it has zero midi controls on board beside octave +/- .. so this seems like a no brainer. Thanks, and remember to glorify Jesus and not your chops in church 😬👍
Yes, you can use this controller with the App. You will have extra faders/buttons since the App's interface is a bit different than the MainStage template.
the nanoKontrol2 is class compliant, so plug-and-play for most software, you just need to assign/map it to the parameters you want (this will depend on what software you use) and you are good to go!
@@SundaySounds Thanks a lot, Team❤️..But I was asking about to it plug it in, I mean, how do we connect to the MIDI Keyboard and to the MacBook Pro...Love from India ❤️
Hey great overview! I have this midi controller and I can never get the transport or the faders to work in either Logic, Komplete Kontrol and Kontakt. It's just sitting on my desk collecting dust. Do you have any tips or tutorials I can use? I'm already at an advanced stage in music production but this thing has just irked me and I want to know why it's not working.
You might try doing a factory reset for the nanoKontrol 2. For Logic go to Preferences > Automation, then at the bottom you can use the "Learn Message" to assign Logic parameters to your hardware.
@@SundaySounds I already tried that several times (nothing). I ran the korg uninstaller and installed it again nothing. I opened up preferences and manually added the midi device. The transports work but the faders do not. It will control Logic smart controls but not Kontakt, Komplete Kontrol or Studio 1. I downloaded the Mapping tool to try and manually assign the knobs and faders, but still nothing. It only worked the first week I had it. I've returned 2 and now on my 3rd. The only reason was I bought the protection plan and they won't give me credit for a different Midi controller. Korgs customer service is extremely poor. A rep actually said, "It sounds to me like you're the problem. Do you have any knowledge about music production?" After that I asked for a manager and they hung up on me.
Very inspiring video! However, there's one major drawback of Korg Nano Kontrol 2 with Ableton. May be someone knows how to overcome it? KNK2 faders don't work in the pickup mode and using them causes signifficant volume jumps. It's very sad and annoying. That bug makes it quite useless for mixing imho. I'm just a beginner and may be as an expreienced users you know how to deal with it. I use Ableton 10
Thanks David. Would you recommend a midi keyboard like arturia keylab essential 49 or 61 for beginner to start out playing keys using the Sunday keys template?
Hi Mark, sorry to hear it's not working on your Mac, you might need to uninstall a driver to get the nanoKontrol2 working: support.sundaysounds.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050636434-Catalina-Big-Sur-Monterey-Intel-and-M1-Mac-Updates-for-Korg-nanoKontrol2-midi-controller

nice review
That's a pretty funky overlay skin!
hey I wanted to connect the Nanokontrol2 to my iPad. It is also shown under MIDI. But when I want to set something, it is not implemented in the app.

I just got the korg nk studio because it is wireless ... I love it.
If this was possible to use for Nintendo Switch for the Korg Gadget that would be more than nice ..
Thank you I'm grateful for your enlightenment on the nano kontrol 2. In the simplest of layman's terms.👍👍👍👍

Me too. I'm going to slap this bad boy on my Kawai MP11SE.
just ordered 1
Is this still usable when your just using an Ipad for sunday keys?
Yes, you can use the Korg nanoKontrol2 or any other midi controller with the Sunday Keys App on iPad.
I wonder if it is possible to connect two of these units in order to have 16 tracks to control.
You could connect more than one.
Use locktite on the knobs. :))
Can you program this controller to be used with stand alone instrument and synth software, such as addictive keys, or the arturia analog lab v software?
do you connect the korg to the keyboard or computer ? thanks
Can I use this with my DJ Controller?

Does this controller connect to the keyboard via a 5 pin midi cable?
Wow! this is a nice gear! little it is but can do a lot of rig! :)
Thank you so much for your videos. Does the Korg NanoKontrol2 work with the M1 Macs?
Hi, yes it does but you do need an updated version of the Editor.
Thanks a lot, Team❤️..But I was asking about to it plug it in, I mean, how do we connect to the MIDI Keyboard and to the MacBook Pro...Love from India ❤️
You'll use a USB cable.
How is it setup in Ableton Live and Windows? How do you get it to interact with Sunday keys?
Hi Bruce, we use Midi Mappings to control Ableton with the nanoKontrol 2.
I really really wish I understood any of this. I don’t know where to start
does this thing allow you to store different pad banks on the unit in CC mode?
Can I use this for Serato or VDJ effects? Along with a DJ controller to extend the effects functionality
Is the Sunday keys abelton template come midi mapped for the nanokontrol? Just recently got it but my nanokontrol is not controlling anything in ableton
Is it possible to control the velocity of the notes ?
Thank you.
Yes, you can also adjust that for your whole keyboard in Layout mode.

You may need to reach out to Korg's support and see if you need a driver, and if it is compatible with Apple Silicon. :/
Protools has hui but dose it play nice with this little guy?
A small question. Do you have an idea how to use the Nanokontrol 2 with Spotify to use the play/pause button to play and pause a song?

can i get this color version you are showing in this video (Instead of white or black model).
Can i use it for mixcraft DAW
That's our Sunday Keys skin on top of the nanoKontrol2 and you can get it here: sundaysounds.com/patches/sk-skin
Really liking those skins ...I will keep this link handy.
Where I can download nanokontrol2 update for Mac OS BIG SURE?
The uninstaller for Catalina should also work for Big Sur, there are more details on Korg's website.
How did you make your room purple
The nanoKontrol 1 was actually better. Basically the same layout but allowed the ability to have 4 separate banks.
How did you make the custom Sticker face plate?
We design and print these ourselves. They're available for sale on our website :)
Is there a new version that has 15 channels just like the Sunday Keys App?
I’m thinking about getting this but Does this controller work well with the Sunday keys iPad app?
Yes, you can use this controller with the App. You will have extra faders/buttons since the App's interface is a bit different than the MainStage template.
Awesome thanks
I have sunday keys on mainstage 3 in my macbook running safari.is nanokontrol 2 premapped for this setup?
