I agree on what you said about the Vcore98 2021. It's now my go to racquet, I really like the feeling and easy access to power and spin. As you said, you have to commit to it especially when serving. Great review 👏
I’ve got one of each of the outgoing 98, 98+ and 95 models weighted up with vt advantec leather grips and tungsten tape in the head and have absolutely no problem playing with any of them, the only one that really screams to me out of these new lines will be the future 98+ in months to come as that is the one I tend to gravitate towards as it helps me get some extra pop on the serve and re directing pace when playing doubles. Love the feel of the 95 but only when we can play indoors again. Brilliant review and great channel though Karue.
Hi My Tennis HQ! I really enjoy your content. Your racket reviews and game tips are top tier, it's difficult to find creators that are as sincere and dedicated as you are man. Keep up the great work!
Waiting to demo this VCORE 98 and need to compare it to Pure Aero Plus, the one I'm transitioning to but have just discovered an uncomfortable feeling in the elbow. The VC98 spec looks right in my alley...can't wait to hit with it....
Do u guys know when would they release a special edition with a different color? The 2020 version has a slick all black galaxy version... would they do that for the 2021?
Just finished a week demo with the 98, the new 95 and the old 95. I really wanted to like the 95 for some reason (maybe because of all the hype from the internet tennis personalities and to prove to myself I'm good enough to use it), but the 98 just worked much better with my game. I'm a 38 yr old ~4.0 (played in HS but not college level) getting back into tennis after a long break, currently using the 2020 EZ100. With the 95, when I had good contact with the sweetspot and a good, long hard swing at the ball, I loved it - ball did exactly what I wanted to do with good pace and spin. But when that didn't happen, I was hitting a lot of balls into the net or would swing hard and the ball would just calmly float over the net. Felt I just had to work harder with the racquet to get good results. With the 98, it was much easier to overpower my opponents and I got better groundstrokes - great pop and pace. On serves, the 98 wasn't bad at all, but I was hitting better with the 95. Not as much pace with either as with my EZ100, but definitely more consistency and accuracy. My preference for the 98 was a surprise since out of the EZ line, the 98 was my least favorite (EZ98T being my favorite, which I was almost certain I was going to get) particularly bc it felt too head light, and the EZ98 and VC98 have the same balance. So I'm gonna wait until ~March to see if they release a galaxy black version of the 2021 98 and get that.
Interesting analysis. What string and tension did you use in the VC95 vs VC98? I'm wondering perhaps you should have gone way lower tension in your VC95 or tried thinner gauge again at a lower tension.
@@a2casius They all had whatever demo strings Tennis Warehouse put in there. The 2021 95 had Yonex Tour Super 850, the 2020 95 had Solinco Vanquish, the 98 I think had Prince Premier Touch (hard to read). Not sure the gauge or tension. The first time I hit with the 2021 95 I hated it - was super stiff - but that was likely bc it had brand new strings, so the second time after the strings had opened up it played much much better. I'll also add that my hitting partner also tried out all the racquets and by far preferred the 2021 95, and he hits harder and is more consistent than me.
@@wujatt36 Thanks. So, difficult to compare. I asked the question because over the past few years, manufacturers have increasingly increased hoop stiffness to add more stability but at the detriment of feel and pocketing and so racquets have become increasingly "string sensitive" and more times that not, whether you like a racquet very much and far more than before, boils down to what string you have in it.
Hi KARUE, I am French and I have been playing for a few months with the yonex vcore 98 racket. First of all, thank you very much for all your advice and all your videos. They improved my tennis. And that's cool. I have a question: where? and how much lead weight exactly? you would add on the Yonex VCORE 98 of 2021, to improve it. I would like to have your help. Your professional opinion. Thank you in advance for your answer. Good continuation !!! You are a great guy!!! and a great community. If anyone can help me with this query, thank you all.
With 50 pounds and a more control-oriented and stiff string like tourna silver 7 or Solinco tour bite it felt good but I still think that with 45 pounds it could be great, what do you think? What voltage did you use?
Great video. You mentioned that for feel and touch this racquet is not great. Would you be able to tell me which racquet you would recommend for feel, touch and volley? Thanks
Very good review man, thanks!! But..which racquet do you use usually? I mean, which is your main racquet? Is still the Yonex Ezone or did you change? (If I can ask of course).
Just asking your advice. I'm 67 & still hit the ball with good pace. I'm using a 2012 Volkl C10 Pro. It's starting to feel a bit heavy. Do you think the Yonex VCORE 98 with be a good choice for better maneuverability?
I'd like to see a comparison between this and the Pure Aero VS since the specs are very very similar except for the string pattern since The pure aero vs is 16x20
Hey Karue! Any chance you could review the Pure Aero VS? Really would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks! Also any tips on getting more extension through the forehand?
Am looking to move from 2017 EZone 98 to VCore 98. My EZ is weighted to 12 oz and is 8 pts HL. Strung gut/poly at 56/52 #. I'm 66 yo and could use a bit more power and spin but don't want elbow or shoulder issues. All of the Babolats hurt my arm. You mentioned that the EZ 98 Tour tired your arm. Did you add weight to it? Love the yellow shorts!
Great post! I have been wondering about these three rackets (Vcore Pro 97, Ezone 98, Vcore 98). I am using the Head Speed Pro (smooth and solid hitting racquet)from Pure Strike 3rd gen (easier for angles and spin) and looking for something in-between, which would you suggest Ezone 98 or Vcore 98? I demoed the new Vcore Pro 100 and it felt solid and awesome, however, it was lacking power on serve.
Thank you for your inputs... very helpfull ,,, I play with the Vcore Pro 97 310g with 5g on the head... and I'm considering the vcore 98 because of the free power. Could you say somthing about that? Great review as always. I'm curious, how does this compare to something like the Head 360+ Speed MP? I'm trying to upgrade from my Blade 18x20 to something with a bit more pop. I tried the Ezone Tour but was surprised that it didn't seem to give me much more than the Blade.
Was looking for 98L for a junior. Any comments on how that racquet is. Thanks for the videos. After trying out the same routine that you show with Naomi, my juniors game has improved a lot
Hi, what is your view on the Vcore 98 Plus (the 27.5inch)? Some people rave about the length benefit on serve and stroke power, but also the manoeuvrability might be an issue? Keen to buy one from tenniswearhouse. Thank you in advance
Fantastic review, thank you! Can you please give me some advice on how to best increase the weight of the racket to maximise power on flat serve and very aggressive forehand (Berrettini style ... just in my dreams)? Thank you 🙏
I would put the weights on the same spots where I would put them on a head extreme tour. Like 4cm of lead tape 1/4 inch on 3 -9 and sth like 9cm on 2 - 10. Then a little bit of weight in the grip
Hey karue, great video and review, im about a 8 utr and I hit with decent topspin but also like to flatten out my game every once in a while. I think I'm a aggressive baseliner but I like to come to the net when I can. Would u recommend this racquet or the 95 for me?
Hi Karue! This is by far my favourite tennis chanel! Thank you for the content you make! I need to replace my Yonex DR 98 and I thought this racquet could be an option.... Unfortunately, I cannot playtest this stick here in Czech Republic. Do you think it could suit me? I know it's hard to tell but... I have an eastern straight arm forehand ( rather flat strokes) a 2hbh (spin). Thanks in advance for your opinion! Greetings from Europe!
I m confused between this racquet and head graphene 360+ extreme mp and prostaff 97, which one Sonu suggest as my requirement is spin, comfort and big sweetspot.
Thanks for your review Karue, did you find a certain string setup played better in the vcores? Did you try hybriding it with multis or gut at all? Cheers!
Hey man big fan of all your videos! What position would you recommend adding weight to the head? 12 o clock? 3 and 9? I know this is personal preference but asking where YOU would put weight. Thanks in advance.
I often wonder, when a tour pro wields a power frame or a- whatever the Aero is, are they really applying precision to all that power or is it really a control frame with a different paint job?
Hi. Could you compare this one to thé Wilson blades 98 16 19 v7 and V8 because Inplay on a v7 and Wonder if I should buy a V8 or a vcore 98 ( I need more manouvrability, some more spin and forgiveness on défense at Times)
Blade 98 v8 feels less maneuverable to me as there's more weight in the head and a heavier swingweight overall. Love it for groundstrokes but that's about it.
Im a pure aero guy and the Vcore 98 feels like it is not as spin friendly as the pure aero , is it the transition from 100sq to 98sq? because I'm really having hard time with it right now especially on the forehand. thanks you for the content
Am I correct saying that this new VCORE 98 does adapt the same upgraded elements present on the VCORE 98 galaxy black (which followed the original VCORE 98)?
Thanks for a great review! How would this racquet compare to a Pure Aero VS? Which is better in your opinion? Also, do you have any idea if and when Yonex will come out with a black version like they did for the previous version?
What do you think contributes the most to hitting a heavy ball? I had used the old 98 for a short time, but felt that the ball came of the strings fast, but didn't explode off the court... So I didn't feel like "power" was the most important characteristic.
7:44, more brushing the ball will cause error, need high racket head speed for brushing, for me 3.0 player, I need a more control oriented, less bouncy racket for second serve. I have vcore 98d which does not work for me.
At the 3.0 level I wouldn't worry so much about the racket but rather in developing solid technique. These rackets are control oriented in the scheme of things and require good technique to generate consistent power and spin.
Sorry about that - the Australian Open had blocked our video in several countries due to us using 9 seconds of their videos. Just another example of how these big tennis institutions are killing the sport. The video should be fixed now
Hey dude, loving the channel. If you swap to the Vcore 95 as your primary racquet, let us know if you feel it needs a little lead or if you are getting everything you need from it stock form. Got the demo on the way, and am considering picking one up.
I'm currently using the vcore 98 from 2018/19 and find it quite cumbersome and hard on the arm/shoulder. Considering a Pure Drive (sounds mad I know due to it having a higher stiffness rating) but I've heard it has forgiving pop and dampened feel?
Hi Karue, Great review of the VCore 98 as well as the other YT Vids you're doing. I pulled the trigger on a 2021 VCore 98 based on your review so if you wouldn't mind emailing me your FH, BH, Volley & Serve I should be OK in my next match :D I've been using the Prince Beast 98, really nice frame, which has almost identical specs to the VCore 98, other than the 16x20 pattern in the Beast. I'm no Pro level hitter like yourself but I know what I'm doing with a racquet in hand. Had a 90 minute hit with the Yonex yesterday before a summer rain storm came through Brisbane, so missed out hitting a few serves/playing points which is the main reason I went after the Yonex. Looking for a frame to give me bit more 'Pop' on my serve. Bit quicker through the swing than the Beast, not that the Beast is sluggish, but didnt seem to lose any penetration into the back court with the VCore. I was a bit sceptical about the 'aerodynamics' on the frame but I think it does genuinely make a difference to racquet head speed through the swing. I'm a fairly flat 'old school' hitter, I didnt notice any outa control launch angle from the VCore. I really liked the drive from my 1HB with the VCore, which is so flat at times you can read the print on the ball :D The bloke I hit with is an ex pro level player so the pace & weight of ball is there, I really enjoyed volleying with the Yonex. Agree with you that it could get pushed around at net by a heavy ball but the Yonex is quick & easy to get into position behind an incoming ball to volley & if the person driving has good Volley technique then I don't see any issue with the VCore at net. Keep up the great work & all the very best for 2022.
3 and 9 but you have to counterbalance with a heavier grip or tungsten/silicone in the handle if you want to keep the balance the same. If you don’t you will make it more head heavy.
The Diadem Elevate 98 / 98 Tour is vastly better racquet than this, and I say that having owned several generations of Ezone 98s and Vcore 98s. The problem with this Vcore 98 (and also the previous generation) is that they've made it too 'spinny'. So rather than penetrate the court, the ball tends to dip earlier and land shorter. There's also less precision with the more open string pattern of the Vcore. With the Diadem, you have a fantastic 16x20 drill pattern which gives you the best of both worlds - spin when you want it, but also directional precision to hit through the court. The Vcore 98 racquet also lacks a bit of backbone and needs weight to stabilize it but its an easy racquet to mod because of the stock swingweight / balance specs. All in all, the Elevate 98 is the better bet - the Elevate Tour if you don't mind something stiffer/heavier and the standard Elevate 98 if you want a platform frame to weight up that's slightly flexier.
I’ve tried both. This has more power and slightly more spin. Radical Pro has more control and is sooo plush. I had to work too hard to generate power with Radical Pro vs this one. I demoed the pure stroke 16x19, ps tour, radical pro, speed pro, diadem elevate tour, Vcore 95, and this one. Once I added an overgrip and a total of 4g at 9and 3 this was my favorite. In fact I just ordered 3. Radical Pro was number 2, Diadem 3. I’m like a low 4.5 so I don’t have the skills or natural power that Karine does. Vcore 95 was sweet too. Too manly for me :). Both this one and the radical pro made a big difference on my serve. I currently play the 2014 Speed MP 16x19 modified to 331g and 324mm balance strung.
Would you consider this racket to be arm friendly? I have the Head Graphene XT Prestige Pro and Wilson RF 97 and sometimes get very sore in my forearm. More so with the head than the Wilson.
@@KaruesellHQ Thank you! Could you make a video where you talk about racket custumization? That would be awesome, especially since you tend to have a different grasp of detail than many of the other guys
I added 10 grams at 3 and 9 (in total) and 1,5 grams in the hoop and the Vcore 98 played reeeaaaly solid! (Have to mention that the swing weight was only 308 grams on my test racket!) I have to add that I'm really surprised that the Vcore feels pretty comfortable on the arm considering it's stiffness of 66 RA strung.
Great review. I use the previous generation, but I put leather grip and overgrip. Also 1 gram on 2, and 10. The biggest challenge has been getting the correct string setup as the performance really changes. How do you find the correct tension quickly? Also when covid-19 is beaten will you be having classes/clinics? Especially in UK, Europe?

which one is better? vcore 95 or vcore98 or extream tour
Rip your ezone tour 😢
I think the Yonex Ezone 98 (2022) is better for you. It's near to DR 98...
How does it compare to the new Ezone (7th gen)
I m confused between this racquet and head graphene 360+ extreme mp and prostaff 97, which one Sonu suggest as my requirement is spin, comfort and big sweetspot.
Thanks for your review Karue, did you find a certain string setup played better in the vcores? Did you try hybriding it with multis or gut at all? Cheers!
Hey man big fan of all your videos! What position would you recommend adding weight to the head? 12 o clock? 3 and 9? I know this is personal preference but asking where YOU would put weight. Thanks in advance.
Personally for this one I think 9-3 works best
Awesome thanks man! Nice hitting with Naomi! She seems super cool. I’m going to follow your channel from here on out :)
I often wonder, when a tour pro wields a power frame or a- whatever the Aero is, are they really applying precision to all that power or is it really a control frame with a different paint job?
Pro rackets are different frames with paintjobs of the racket lines brands are currently selling. A pro player racket is so much more stable.
Is it arm friendly and not hard on the elbow
Wilson six one 95 18x20
Am I correct saying that this new VCORE 98 does adapt the same upgraded elements present on the VCORE 98 galaxy black (which followed the original VCORE 98)?
can you review the 2023 Yonex Vcore 98!
Hi Karue, you recommended to add weight to the racket head. Is it 3 and 9 o’clock position?
Yes
@@KaruesellHQ how much lead u put?
Thanks for a great review! How would this racquet compare to a Pure Aero VS? Which is better in your opinion?
Also, do you have any idea if and when Yonex will come out with a black version like they did for the previous version?
Great question, also interested to hear the answer to this one.
+1!!!
What do you think contributes the most to hitting a heavy ball? I had used the old 98 for a short time, but felt that the ball came of the strings fast, but didn't explode off the court... So I didn't feel like "power" was the most important characteristic.
Technique
7:44, more brushing the ball will cause error, need high racket head speed for brushing, for me 3.0 player, I need a more control oriented, less bouncy racket for second serve. I have vcore 98d which does not work for me.
At the 3.0 level I wouldn't worry so much about the racket but rather in developing solid technique. These rackets are control oriented in the scheme of things and require good technique to generate consistent power and spin.
DOES IT COME ALREADY STRUNG??
How does it compare to the vcore 95 2021
What would be your ideal racket?
Hi Karue I can't see your new video. It says something like the uploader has made this video unavailable for you country.
Sorry about that - the Australian Open had blocked our video in several countries due to us using 9 seconds of their videos. Just another example of how these big tennis institutions are killing the sport. The video should be fixed now
@@KaruesellHQ thanks for the reply Karue. And yes that really is a big shame. Unfortunately I still can't watch it.
We need the review of the Vcore pro 97 330g!!!! Please!!
I believe he's using head Lynx Tour 1.25 @ 58 lbs.
@@Surgica1 thank you!
When are new vcore coming out?
Would a full bed of poly tour spin fit well in this racket? If so what tension?
Hey dude, loving the channel. If you swap to the Vcore 95 as your primary racquet, let us know if you feel it needs a little lead or if you are getting everything you need from it stock form. Got the demo on the way, and am considering picking one up.
Will do!
You guys should review the Babolat Pure Aero VS..
how does it perform in comparison to the EZONE 98?
Yes please, and to the vcore pro 310
I have both
Def compare to ezone 98
What are "better options on the market, for someone who hits a litte more flat"?
Speed pro, blade, VCORE Pro lineup, Bab Pure strike
How does this compare to the graphene 360+ speed MP, which one do you prefer? Question open to anyone that's tried both
I'm currently using the vcore 98 from 2018/19 and find it quite cumbersome and hard on the arm/shoulder. Considering a Pure Drive (sounds mad I know due to it having a higher stiffness rating) but I've heard it has forgiving pop and dampened feel?
Seems like the wrong direction. Vcore Pro 97? It's less stiff.
Hi Karue, Great review of the VCore 98 as well as the other YT Vids you're doing. I pulled the trigger on a 2021 VCore 98 based on your review so if you wouldn't mind emailing me your FH, BH, Volley & Serve I should be OK in my next match :D
I've been using the Prince Beast 98, really nice frame, which has almost identical specs to the VCore 98, other than the 16x20 pattern in the Beast.
I really liked the drive from my 1HB with the VCore, which is so flat at times you can read the print on the ball :D
The bloke I hit with is an ex pro level player so the pace & weight of ball is there, I really enjoyed volleying with the Yonex. Agree with you that it could get pushed around at net by a heavy ball but the Yonex is quick & easy to get into position behind an incoming ball to volley & if the person driving has good Volley technique then I don't see any issue with the VCore at net.
Keep up the great work & all the very best for 2022.
Will you be doing a full review on the 2021 radical mp and pro?
Yep if Head ever sends me the racket
Great video. When are you going to review pro staff v 13
i have a problem of overhitting, will it help?
Where should I put the weight in order to improve the stability? 12 or 3 and 9? Thank you!
3 and 9 but you have to counterbalance with a heavier grip or tungsten/silicone in the handle if you want to keep the balance the same. If you don’t you will make it more head heavy.
wow at Naomi shots
So, the newer version has lass power???
Grata review Karue! Thanks. What about comparsion with the ezone 98 in terms of power/controle?
More power and topspin, less control and stability
I'm using ezone 98, what's the best way to stabilize this with lead? Don't know how to.. any recommendations?
More like marketing than a review
@@wiregg lead at 3 & 9
@Moses Daz thanks man, tried it yesterday and dang it's really fantastic.
Why do you think the 95 is better for doubles?
Yeah that is a good racket
I tried this one and the Tour. Once I added weight to this one I preferred it. More power but still enough control for me with a Black Poly hybrid.
Really curious if you’ve tried out the new Radical Pro and your thoughts?
Haven’t tried yet
@@masonkimble2006 by overgrip you mean leather ?
Would you consider this racket to be arm friendly? I have the Head Graphene XT Prestige Pro and Wilson RF 97 and sometimes get very sore in my forearm. More so with the head than the Wilson.
I think it is very arm friendly and easy to play with
@@KaruesellHQ Thank you! Could you make a video where you talk about racket custumization? That would be awesome, especially since you tend to have a different grasp of detail than many of the other guys
Thank you for review 👌👌👌
You are welcome
dog gnawed at your baseball cap?)))) ahaha
Hey what string did you use?
I'm playing with Babolat Pure Strike Tour think this baby direct match...
PS Tour is way heavier. You would need to add weight to this to get it in that ballpark.
When will you test angell rackets?
What's your daily / preferred racquet?
VCORE 95
Great review. I use the previous generation, but I put leather grip and overgrip. Also 1 gram on 2, and 10. The biggest challenge has been getting the correct string setup as the performance really changes. How do you find the correct tension quickly?
Also when covid-19 is beaten will you be having classes/clinics? Especially in UK, Europe?
