I have the same feeling for 100k. If it is higher, he can give it a try. But I cannot discourage him after doing multiple attempts for his dream.
It would be a great experience but it might not add too much value in his finances.

I am in US, if someone is getting 45lcas in India there is absolutely no need to come here, because once you are here there will definitely be a struggle, if you loose jobs you have to shift everything or sometimes cities. There are tons of people with his kind of experience level but still they struggled and lost jobs, grass is not greener on the other side. Many of our acquaintances whom we met they said moving to US was a bad decision as they were in a much better shape in India itself. Also GC is long wait once kids turn 21 they have to move out of the country. Which will be stressful for both parents and kids

Living in US for more than 10 yrs -
100k Salary current reality in 2024
22-25% Tax (least possible, more in metropolitans)
    1000/month health insurance for family of 4 = 12k
    Take home - around 66k = 5,500 per month
Bare minimum cost of essentials -
    Rent 2bhk - 2000
    Utilities, wifi, phones,etc - 500
Car (5yr old used, maintenance, insurance & gas) - 1000
    Groceries (shopping & misc) - 1000
    Kids school - Free
Balance saving - roughly 1000 in very best case scenario which will mostly be spent for EMIs in india. No scope for building wealth.
100k salary is no longer sufficient, must have dual income or at least 200k to live the US Dream (good lifestyle + accelerated wealth generation compared to India)
