I can't believe it's taken me 20 years since I started playing Pokemon to associate the Bad Egg gotten from cheating to bad egg, which means dishonest. Like, I just never made the connection and just thought it was random I'd get an egg as a glitched byproduct of my old GameShark ways. This whole time it was GameFreak calling me out 😂

I did this about 10 years ago by editing the save file and replacing the battle tower mixed record trainer data with custom teams.

@@GreenEggAndSAM2 I mixed records with one of my friends and edited their battle tower data using hex editor and a guide on how to generate the new checksum for the edited data.

This makes me think of old gen 4 days where I’d boot up the old Action Replay and steal a bunch of story NPC’s Pokémon, which would always cause the summary of the stolen Pokémon to glitch (odd dates, odd meet areas, etc)
I remember stealing Cynthia's pokemon and finding out that it has near max IVs once I sent it to Gen 7.

Something interesting, I captured dragon tamer Craig's shiny dragon this morning using this method, but I instead injected the e reader card into ENG Ruby, doing so made his Altaria and Kingdra shiny as well... Not sure why that happens but I thought I'd put it out there haha
If your injector assigned a Trainer ID of 00223 to Altaria and Kingdra they would become shiny. Normally they have a trainer and secret ID of 00000

I used a GameShark back in the days of gen 1 and 2. I found it kinda funny that by gen 2 if u caught trainers pokemon with the GameShark they would have no moves.
I can not believe that you could just bring that straight up to HOME. I figured it'd get as far as Gen 5 but I wonder if its because when its transferred upwards, the met Route data is lost/simplified so Bank/Home can't check if its cheated because it doesn't have a reference if it should be caught where it was or not. Either or crazy video and I can't believe some people would go that far to get a shiny Pokemon. lol

My brain has been diagnosed with bad egg (adhd)
Shiny Salamance colors look like 1950s Americana, like that old seafoam green they used all over.
Original Salamance is based on Devilman which I guess is an equally old blue, but for some reason it doesn’t stick out to me the same way the green does.

22 years later... Wow ! I remember getting this game NEW ! I got Ruby Version because I had played a Demo of Sapphire at Walmart and assumed you could only be a GIRL in Sapphire. I remember getting Ruby from GameStop loading that into my GBA and putting SO much time into that game. I still have said game.

Seems legit to pokehome cause they only check for values regarding competitive battles. It nit legal though, putting it to pkhex will get red flagged, as pkhex checks way more things than pokehome, such as where it was caught.

If the Pokémon police catches you on grounds of NPC identity theft, just tell them that you were roleplaying since it's a roleplaying game.
I wonder if custom e reader cards are possible; if like an entire trainer with unique team could be added, maybe it could work based on the little I know about e reader stuff !!! but I'm not sure bcaus I. Don't know everything about e-reader s..!!

understanding that ereader support is required for this technique, have you considered using custom ereader cards (im a blisy has some good videos on custom events with these) to change the trainer ID/SID (if posible) and/or add more shiny encounters to this method?
Sure but I'm pretty sure you can just code cards that will let Norman hand you a Pokemon
Ok but could you use this method to steal items from the battle frontier? Like if you used Trick or Switcheroo to give an enemy trainer a sacred ash from the pyramid, only to lose and then use the latios glitch to switcheroo it back outside the pyramid?
The Pokemon will be holding whatever item it was holding during that battle. I got a Scope Lens from Salamence and a Leftovers from Breloom.
This method was actually the only way to get the Salac, Ganlon, Petaya and Apicot Berry without Pokemon Colosseum, XD Gale of Darkness or an event

Wait, are the checksums different in D/P/Pt? Cause I never once got a bad egg from using the “catch trainer Pokémon” action replay cheat…
I remember getting Bad Eggs if I caught something that wasn't their first Pokemon, but I don't know why. The Action Replay also may have been changing the TID/SID to match to make the cheat work, we can't know

I recently bought e-reader card Triathlete Natsuko - 020/048 - Battle e Card Series 2 and I would like to know is his OT ID and OT SID. Do you know what those are? or How I can find them

couldn't you just have edited the data code on the cards to make sure your id and the trainers are the same? i have seen an animal crossing video where someone did that (creating his own code he then scanned). that also allows probably to decide the pokemon (level, pokemon, trainer ids etc)

Lol dont bother, normal trainers pokemon all have randomly generated TID to prevent shinies, meaning no two pokemon in a single trainers party will have the same TID

can you steal shiny pokemon from trainers? answer: yes, if you use homebrew to hack the game. so not legitimately? no.
You could wait the months it would require for the dead battery seed to make it to the right frame, and there are other methods like painting RNG that can get the seed we're looking for

The glitches I performed in this video can be done on any English/JP copy of Ruby/Sapphire with no modifications, using RTCRead is because as you saw the resets are otherwise 6 months long :)

I know you mean 1/8th of the chance of a shiny, but "8 times less likely" implies it's -7/8192, which isn't accurate at all. Don't get why people say it like that.
I've never met a person who would interpret saying something is 8 times less likely as "subtract 8 from the numerator"
So if something has an 80% or 4 in 5 chance to happen, how would this interpretation of "8 times less likely" work? Would you do 80/100 -> 72/100 or 4/5 -> -4/5?
@@SirToastyToes The part that causes me to think that is the "# times less". And it's not "subtract 8 from the numerator", more like "B=A-(A*8)". It just happen that A in this case was 1/8192, causing A*8 to be 8/8192.
@@BurstFlare Yeah it's a weird scaling of saying something like "half as likely" which would be multiply the denominator by 2
