The fact that using banks 3ds to switch feature is locked behind the pay wall is probably the best example of that. Why is something so fundamental to the series pay exclusive? It really feels like they don't care about the original motto anymore
The issue with shiny Mew is that the one you can get from Generation 1 is actually illegal. Originally, the 22769 GF Mew was an official event made to promote the release of the Generation 1 games on the Eshop, and thus, is the only transferable Mew. The problem is that while his IVs when you transfert him to Pokémon Bank are random (with 5 out of 6 being maxed out at 31), his DVs, the ancestors of IVs, were made fix in Pokémon Red Blue Yellow by GameFreak. Because the shiny property is linked to DVs in the first 2 Generation games, and his DVs don't match with that, it means this Mew cannot legitimately be shiny. He will still go through Poké Transfert and could be played online, but so are shiny Arceus and Darkrai from events hacked to be shiny. The only legal shiny Mew are indeed the one from Faraway Island in Gen 3 and Mews from Pokémon Go.
I'm pretty sure Faraway Island also requires you to have caught it in a JP version too, unless you can get an old map by record mixing(I don't remember), since Old Map didnt receive a western distribution.
I remember doing the whole 8f glitch and made a shiny Mew, only for me to check if it was legal in pkhex and it wasn’t. I shiny hunted mew in Japanese emerald and it was legal.
@@Infindox thats not entirely true, because theoratically if you happened to be in Japan with your non-japanese game, than you could have gotten the map too. Also the language only gets Set in gen4. Ypu could trrade your mew to your english emerald and than pal Park it. This way it now counts as an english faraway Mew.
as a glitch fanatic it really frustrates me that some poketubers don't seem to do their due diligence when talking about 'em. you did!! you explained everything pretty well. what a great watch, thank you~
Thank you for pointing out the Swimmer Trainer in Misty's Gym for the Mew glitch: the other trainer gets the most attention, but for Mew lovers, getting two of them and making one shiny for two different colors of Mew is grand!
You can just lose the battles and the trainers will still be there, ready to fight you (and trigger the glitch) again. It's how I was able to run through Red with a team of six Mew.
Honestly, the Gen 1 and 2 Mon's being obtained through hours of work with glitches perfectly encapsulates the essence of playing Pokemon in the 90's. We all were innocent children awe-struck at seeing Missingno and spending hours of fun surfing the edge of Cinnabar Island. These Mons are more than legit. They're special.
As a shiny hunter who has tried various methods for Pokemon that sparkle, I love these glitch shiny hunts. It's something completely different and so much more challenging, in a good way. While other shiny methods are a battle of attrition, where success is dependent on how much patience you have, these glitch hunts require such pinpoint precision. Any small error or timing will affect the outcome, never in a good way. And that challenge to detail is so oddly enjoyable! To use the games' own system against itself, to bypass any hack checks, and having that shiny legendary or mythical as a reward for your tenacity, it's a wonderful thrill! All thanks to those before us who were able to understand the code of these relics of games in old forums of the early 2000's so that we may do such shenanigans too. Their names will never be known, but their information remains. It's such a thrill!
Very informative, I started shiny hunting Celebi back shortly after Crystal was on VC, but after 19000+ SRs I put it on hold. I should probably return to it soon. I'm really sad that one day we will be losing complete Transfer and Bank access, especially because I still buy and play older games actually quite often. I now feel like I have to rush all my current plays just to transfer a bunch of Pokemon and it has actually been a little stressful, sadly. I collect Pokemon for fun, and it actively feels like the franchise isn't encouraging it like it used to, when was the last time they even said "Gotta catch 'em all"? Sad times.
There is an easier way to do mew If you transfer it to Gold and Silver, you can utilize the coin case glitch to change it. Without the risk of severely corrupting your saved file. I should know, I've tried to transfer a Gen 2 Pokémon from Gen 1. The first attempt didn't go well.
I had a friend from JP with an old shiny mew he transferred up. He traded it to me when we played sw/sh together. I appreciate him for it, as the only shinies i seem to be able to catch are shinx 😂 (hisui zorua gets second place, only because it just... kinda likes being shiny in hisui outbreaks for me. Not as much as shinx though. Lil cheese man steals every chance he gets to be shiny no matter what game I play, and I love him for it. Yes, i still have my shiny mew. He won a mewtwo tera raid for me.
Geodude is the Pokemon I've seen as shiny the most. I've encountered 6 shiny Geodudes (one of which was killed by that little girl teammate NPC in Pearl) and 2 shiny Alolan Geodudes. All 8 were naturally encountered, I was not shiny hunting for them.
@@PhantomFalcon13 i recently got a friggin shiny shinx in an outbreak(legends arceus) in an area where shinx doesn't usually spawn, RIP my alpha infernape hunt that day💀
honestly, it irks me that so much of the pokemon community gets offended/upset over other people hacking/glitching pokemon into their own games, it's a shiny, it doesn't affect anyone in any way
tbh nobody really cares but freaks of nature and irrelevant dregs of society. making competitive viable pokemon and teams takes too much time. easier now but it wasnt always like this. thankfully pokeshowdown exists nowadays but even then. if you wanted to test a bunch of teams youd have to do a money glitch, do a bunch of raids, transfer pokemon from other games at 60$ a pop + the consoles etc. dont even get me started on stuff like indeedee F that require certain 0 IVS theres also a meta VGC pokemon i forgot that requires 0 attack IVs and you can only get after you beat the entire game and you only get 1. you have to literally beat an entire game just to roll the dice on this pokemon. hacking wouldnt be an issue if it werent for gamefreaks design. your glitched mew being "illegal" is one of those. nintendo drug sniffers will ban you for that at any tournament when they check your mons.
oh its enamorous. enamorous is why hacking is 100% morally sound. legendary pokemon that requires u to beat the entirety of arceus. (that game doesnt have IV system) to check its IVs you have to save, trade the pokemon, check its IVs and rebeat the game. plenty of metas around enamorous require 0 spe IVs.
Not sure if this was mentioned, but an alternative method of making the 8f mew shiny is trading it to a gen 2 vc game and performing the coin case glitch on it.
@@ItsEmul nah I was able to transfer to Scarlet and Violet without an issue. You still do the 8f glitch to get the correct OT and ID but you just make it shiny in gen 2 after trading it
Alternatively, just turn a random mon into a shiny Mew w/ correct OT/ID with coin case. Even better, use coin case to get a wrong pocket TM, then use that to turn a random mon into shiny Mew w/ correct OT/ID.
Got a shiny Celebi last year in the Crystal virtual console and also got shiny extremespeed Dratini from the Dragons den. Been enjoying shiny hunting lately. Just got shiny Lugia in SoulSilver. Will probably start multi hunting Mew or Deoxys in FR/LG/E and will probably go for HO-OH when I get back to the virtual console playthrough.
The Shiny Mew will only be considered "legal" if its from a Japanese Emerald, since the event to get it was only released in Japan. Home accepts the Mew from Gen 1 because of the GF ID, but it was never given shiny stats. Most people dont care and even enjoy collecting weird mons like this, but just keep that in mind with some others who hate things like that.
I don't believe it gets blocked from transfer. Can confirm as someone who genned a shiny Faraway Island Mew into a Gen 6 game (via an old 3DS glitch that no longer works) and forgot to add the Fateful Encounter flag needed for it to obey you in Fire Red, Leaf Green and Emerald (of no consequence in later Gens).
I have a legit mew from far away island and it transfers. Love that guy got him in a luxury ball named Eden. I bought a repro distribution cartridge so not sure if you consider him legit or not but it passes through so it sure is legal
I was among those to shiny hunt Celebi the old fashioned way in VC Crystal. While it was arduous, it was quite an experience, and it was definitely rewarding when it paid off!
You’re less likely to get banned for hacking Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokemon. When they’re transferred they essentially delete the original file to bring it up to date. The only things it really needs to check are: Moves Species Nickname Level Shiny status Maybe pokerus The only things out of that, that would trigger anything, is the moves, species and level. So I wouldn’t worry too much. If it transfers to bank then you’re solid. It becomes overwritten to be a legit Pokemon.
Ah, I forgot about Mew being a special case. The OT and ID has to be from the gamefreak event. Otherwise that’s it! Gen 1 and 2 Pokemon files are super bare compared to current gen.
Why can't they just give an answer if any old gens will get ported to the Switch. Considering Stadium is already ported, it's a high possibility though they will trickle old gens onto the Switch slowly, but man this is so annoying
If they do this, I hope they re release all of the games on switch, god please. I just wanna be able to ribbon hunt all of the ribbons from the previous game all the way up to the newest game
I have an event shiny jirachi from Japan, so I'm covered on that one lol. Also have the GO masterwork research for one underway. One of the best cloning methods I've found is to use a hacked 3DS. Copy your save file, trade the pokemon to a different game (or transporter), then rewrite the save. You now have 2.
I have a shiny faraway island Mew that I also used for the recent Mewtwo raid so it also has the Mightiest mark now. Probably the single rareset pokemon I have
Gen 1 shiny mew is extremely flagged as illegal but i doubt GF will delete them, gen 3 tho doesnt have any illegal flags if you want a more “legit” shiny mew with no possible bad egg effects
I got Shiny Mew, Celebi, Deoxys, and Darkrai from Pokemon GO so it's fun. GO is the only game is its viable to actually collect every shiny since they can be transferred to the main games.
Kinda bad how the Pokemon company are punishing us for playing and enjoying their older and more polished games and at the same time forcing us to play their newer more broken and unenjoyable recent installments. Rather play and keep shiny or fav pokemon on gba and ds games titles and than bringing them all the way to the switch games
I got a Shiny Celebi via the Coin Case glitch. I turned a cloned Shiny Gyarados into a Celebi, which retained its shininess, so I killed two birds with one stone. Also, using a glitch that turns Pokemon Shiny, I was able to get Shiny Ho-Oh and Shiny Lugia. I'd do the Legendary Beasts, but they won't show up...and yes, I did awaken them at the Burned Tower.
It's a shame to see these pokemon become almost impossible to shiny hunt but there always a chance that we get remakes of those gens to where we can shiny hunt them
Gen 1 and 2 kinda already got remade and remaking Gen 4 was already unnecessary (and the remake also sucked) so I really don't know why anyone would consider a chance of further remakes a good thing.
And this is why I have been doing my shiny mythical quest. Last month I found shiny Celebi after only 3,851 resets which was awesome. And then just like a week ago I found shiny Mew in my fastest ever 8192 hunt, after only 1,594 runaways I got my little blue guy. I kept my game boy on literally for three straight days to make sure I wouldn't get any repeat frames. Because obviously the RNG in Emerald is a bit silly. But I'm working on getting every single shiny that you can only get by transferring them up through pokémon. Which are obviously Celebi, Mew, deoxys, jirachi, Manaphy, (If you didn't get the BDSP event) shaymin and Darkrai, poipole, Nagamadle, and partner cap Pikachu with the QR code from Ultra Sun Ultra Moon. There are also some pokémon that are not yet returning to the switch, being the patrat line, furfrou, And of course The elemental monkeys. They will eventually return but for right now they are trapped on older systems
@@Hollow_Tim well I mean it does suck you can't get them in home after bank shuts down. And I wouldn't say that all the games are objectively better. Like for example I'm pretty sure that Scarlet and Violet are better than red and blue. And I've played every generation
I did this with Austin John’s guide. I also then sent over the Mew to Silver and did the shiny Coin Case glitch lol. Also, I really love your voice. It’s soothing and very deep. 😅
Honestly, anything that a game allows without external modifications is legitimate to me. 14:33 A lot of people don't/didn't like the swap breeding method back in Sun and Moon because "it felt like cheating" by allowing you to know exactly when you'd get your shiny but like you said, you're not doing anything outside of the game's standard programming and it still takes effort. I can't believe that method was looked down upon when it's far less difficult than anything you've done here. It's literally doing the Masuda method with a Magikarp and a Ditto with just a few more steps. It's not game breaking and it still takes just as long as breeding regularly without swapping out the Magikarp. I've done it like 4 or 5 times and I've only goofed once. Once I got pretty lucky by getting a Magikarp on egg 25 but every hunt I've done using that method afterwards took over 200-400+ eggs. I was not hatching 400+ Gible eggs in Sun & Moon when there was no O-Powers or automatic breeding location like in Kalos City or ORAS.
So here's something to note: Shiny Mew obtained through using glitches that run the arbitrary code needed to make a Virtual Console Mew event shiny aren't actually legitimate. ONLY Faraway Island Mews from Japanese Emerald cartridges are legitimate shiny Mews (unless you were lucky enough to get one in Pokemon GO). Migration from GBA to modern generations necessitates usage of at minimum an original DS or DS Lite as well as a 3DS, plus a Gen4 (DPPtHGSS) Pokemon game and a Gen5 game (BWB2W2), in addition to a 3DS game and Poke Transporter plus Bank. Japanese copies weren't strictly required to migrate Japanese Pokemon. Also, the Pomeg glitch to warp to the Mew island is technically the incorrect way to obtain one. The Old Sea Chart item was actually given out to Pokemon Festa players in 2005 to Japanese Emerald games, but it was also given out at PokePark Taiwan during that time. So Taiwanese players who imported Japanese Emerald and eventually migrated the Mew to Traditional Chinese Gen7 games also would have been possible. 2005 was an era in which Shiny hunting strategies were at best just being explored, and that's just in the West. Also, what person wouldn't redeem their elusive Mew immediately? Note that this Mew despite moving around a lot on the island is handled in the code as a stationary legendary (Method 1 PID). It was only fairly recently that a way to change Pokemon Emerald's RNG seed to a non-zero value post-first-save was found. On an RNG seed of zero in Emerald, if you want 6x31IV, the first frame you can get such a PID on for a Method 1 Pokemon like Mew is over 176 million frames in (34 days). Most people hunting for 6x31IV wouldn't go beyond that unless not using their actual console. Also you need to have a TID and SID that would XOR with that PID (7942ef72) to get a value of 0-7. Apparently if the TID is the 60510 of the similar-to-Faraway-Island-but-shinylocked PokePark 2006 Taiwan Mew (distributed a year after the Old Sea Chart Mew, and was virtually identical to the Old Sea Chart Mew, down to even moveset and level), and the SID is 31337, the resulting XOR operation results in a Shiny 6x31IV Mew that, if caught in a regular Poke Ball, will, for all intents and purposes, visibly in-game resemble a Shiny version of a shiny-locked event, yet isn't hacked. Anyone who knows how Square Shinies work would assume that because the TID, SID, and PID XOR to 7 (rather than the zero required for Square Shiny), the Mew would be a Star Shiny. However, any Pokemon with a Fateful Encounter flag, if shiny, will ALWAYS be a Square Shiny regardless of the value of the XOR operation. If a Mew or Deoxys in Gen3 doesn't have a Fateful Encounter flag, it will never obey the player. This was done to stop cheaters. So any Shiny Mew from Gen 3 have to have this, and since Shiny Mew from Gen3 and GO both have Fateful Encounter flags, legitimate Shiny Mew are always Square Shiny. So they truly are a special thing. Now obviously, Shiny Mew are exceedingly rare unless you're encountering someone who knew how to use Emerald's cloning glitch and in a way that would appease HOME, or are people who have modded their console and know how to edit or insert Pokemon effectively, or who got them traded. The advantage of a Gen3 Shiny Mew is that the Pokemon XD and Emerald Move Tutors that only teach Mew, and teach moves to it not taught in newer games, are usable, unlike for a Pokemon GO Mew. So Gen3 Shiny Mew with high IVs are most desirable if you're going to play Ubers in competitive. The 34 days 6x31IV frame being Timid (good for Mew) helps as well. In essence, Mew being shiny is rare, and if you wanna migrate one, do it while Bank and Transporter still function.
1:40 Imagine being a small dumb child who got a few traded hacked Pokemon from friends a very long time ago and when trying to bring them to the newer games Nintendo freaking bans you from their online servers.
What was the point of cancelling shiny celebi if it was always an illegal shiny?(Became illegal after gen 2)(Illegal=Unobtainable by almost all means if you can hack, besides that, unobtainable by ALL means period)
nintendo already canceled a ton of pokemon starting with gen 8. Until they add back every pokemon to the national dex, I'm done with the new games. The entire motto of gotta catch them all is now false advertising.
I find it so fun the way you manipulated Mew. "Oh? The glitched Mew from Pokémon Red, Blue, Green and Yellow isn't legitimate enough? Fine, we'll just hack it then"
Many thanks! Just a couple of points for people who come here for Celebi and Mew: 1. Celebi is not allowed anymore in SV; 2. Making Mew legit for Poke Bank is as time consuiming as shiny hunt him.
As ive always said, this is why pkhex exists, i dont use it, but i also do fully understand that sometimes dubious, perhaps even devious, methods are understandable
Alter how Transporter, Bank, and Home work so they run the checks and store the data completely locally, then they can shut down the servers all they want. The content can get transferred between 3DS and Switch via local wifi instead.
I did this so long ago. Why are people only bringing this up now. XD I remember my friend so scared to take my gen 1 shiny mew thinking I hacked it. What a cutie.

If the other older games including 3rd gen are added to the nintendo switch, they WILL be locked behind a $50 yearly paywall because that is already true for stadium's 1 and 2 games
They need to make a physical transfer adaptation to acomidate for online services shutting down. Like imagine a device that looked like a gameshark & could both plug into the DS systems & hold cartridges for example where you would plug in your Gen 5 game into it, store your transferred pokemon in it, then when you wanted to move to Gen 6 or 7 you'd simple put those cartridges into it. They'd have to revisit hardware for that system but it would be reminiscent of tge transfer method between Gen 3 to Gen 4 cartridges. Idc if they charged $50 for it I'd rather spend that then them shutting down online services in a few years for being unprofitable
Absolutely agree. Will they do it? No. Unless youre a brand new customer, nontendo hates your ssa. Just pray someone from youtube or the underground creates some device that allows it.
Theres a way to get Mew very easily in Gen 1! And i think it has somethings to do with flying away right as you get spotted and flying to lavender town and trying to exit to the left. This can be used to manipulate many different pokemon other than mew as well for different trainers
Yeah, that's the Mew glitch and it's mentioned in the video. It's also called the Trainer Fly glitch and can be achieved with any method that can get you out of trainer's line before the battle begins. This includes things like flying, dying from poison, teleporting, or using an escape rope. However, as also stated in the video, you can't transfer Mews gotten from the Train Fly/Mew glitch into Pokemon bank, as they are deemed illegal by Pokemon Transfer's legality checker. That'd defeat the entire point of the video.

Why do they not just allow people to host pokebank and transfers their selves. Like, not giving away the source code, just allow self hosted alternatives. So I can download a program that is obfuscated and encrypted to shit, but it allows me to transfer and hold my 3ds/wii pokemon to it, be it on my pc or server. And then allow transferring from said program, to switch and next gen consoles.

Coin case can give you rare candy, no need to grind... also it is easier to edit an egg than a pokemon... also cloning is easy on Gold and Silver. Been doing this since the OG carts of GS

The Mew from Pokemon Emerald is only "legal" if it's a Japanese version, as the Old Sea Map was never released over here.
@@kakakrabbypatty1234 i forget which poketuber did it, but they made a whole guide to get a shiny legal mew that was able to be transferred up to home

They're special.
fr they are basically the "mew is under the truck in vermillion harbor" playground rumors come to life in a sense.
Sad times.
I legitimately got my shiny celebi in crystal vc back when it came out and I recently transferred it up to sword and shield

Personally I hold myself to best buddying a pokemon before transferring to make it truly rare again
Fun fact. Was just following the steps on getting shiny Celebi and found a random shiny Oddish literally 5 minutes ago.
meanwhile pokemon go gives you a free shiny celebi
True but I missed that on my main
I had a friend from JP with an old shiny mew he transferred up. He traded it to me when we played sw/sh together. I appreciate him for it, as the only shinies i seem to be able to catch are shinx 😂 (hisui zorua gets second place, only because it just... kinda likes being shiny in hisui outbreaks for me. honestly, it irks me that so much of the pokemon community gets offended/upset over other people hacking/glitching pokemon into their own games, it's a shiny, it doesn't affect anyone in any way
My stance is do whatever you want it's your game, but don't send obviously hacked pokemon to trades ruins fun of wonder trade
Imo, if you use a glitch of the game code (or in rare instances, the hardware itself), it's kosher
tbh nobody really cares but freaks of nature and irrelevant dregs of society. making competitive viable pokemon and teams takes too much time. easier now but it wasnt always like this. thankfully pokeshowdown exists nowadays but even then. if you wanted to test a bunch of teams youd have to do a money glitch, do a bunch of raids, transfer pokemon from other games at 60$ a pop + the consoles etc. dont even get me started on stuff like indeedee F that require certain 0 IVS theres also a meta VGC pokemon i forgot that requires 0 attack IVs and you can only get after you beat the entire game and you only get 1. you have to literally beat an entire game just to roll the dice on this pokemon. hacking wouldnt be an issue if it werent for gamefreaks design. your glitched mew being "illegal" is one of those. nintendo drug sniffers will ban you for that at any tournament when they check your mons.
oh its enamorous. enamorous is why hacking is 100% morally sound. legendary pokemon that requires u to beat the entirety of arceus. (that game doesnt have IV system) to check its IVs you have to save, trade the pokemon, check its IVs and rebeat the game. plenty of metas around enamorous require 0 spe IVs.
it's just snobbishness, smogon has this problem.
Not sure if this was mentioned, but an alternative method of making the 8f mew shiny is trading it to a gen 2 vc game and performing the coin case glitch on it.
I believe using the coin case would result in the mew being flagged as illegal in Pokémon HOME. With 8F, this isn’t the case.

I was planning on doing gen 3 mew (and any legendary you can encounter in the game) as well
I don't believe it gets blocked from transfer.

I just wish there was some sort of pre-checker we could run our Pokémon through..you know, before we get banned just transferring pokemon over.😅
You’re less likely to get banned for hacking Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokemon. When they’re transferred they essentially delete the original file to bring it up to date.
The only things it really needs to check are:
Moves
Species
Nickname
Level
Shiny status
Maybe pokerus
The only things out of that, that would trigger anything, is the moves, species and level.
There is, but not like an offical one

Why can't they just give an answer if any old gens will get ported to the Switch. Considering Stadium is already ported, it's a high possibility though they will trickle old gens onto the Switch slowly, but man this is so annoying

I successfully got the shiny GF Mew by following Austin's video. I'm so glad I was able to do this before Bank shuts down. Great video!

Considering they had the opportunity to let us shiny hunt Mew and Jirachi in BDSP but shiny locked them instead, I wouldn't get your hopes up...
Gen 1 and 2 kinda already got remade and remaking Gen 4 was already unnecessary (and the remake also sucked) so I really don't know why anyone would consider a chance of further remakes a good thing.

Shinies are locked to GO to make us pay for them. All of these are available off and on, some even through raids.
the most miserable thing is that shinies exist. they are garbage disgraceful ugly pieces of garbage like its hunters.
Which are obviously
Celebi, Mew, deoxys, jirachi, Manaphy, (If you didn't get the BDSP event) shaymin and Darkrai, poipole, Nagamadle, and partner cap Pikachu with the QR code from Ultra Sun Ultra Moon. No worries bro. Thanks 👌
here's my take, they should not shutdown online stuff in 2024, keep it until 2030
I kinda wish you made the RNG dream team lol.
Well, I wouldn't worry about mew considering that they make a giveaway for mew and mewtwo every single gen
im just soooo mad that gamefreak removed transfer only moves from sv that’s what really felt cool about previous pokemon not these ribbons🙄
It's the first instance of Gamefreak nerfing movepools for Pokemon in main line games. BDSP did it first but they're remakes.
Trails we've been waiting 5 weeks for a stream
So here's something to note:
Shiny Mew obtained through using glitches that run the arbitrary code needed to make a Virtual Console Mew event shiny aren't actually legitimate.
"Don't clone the Mews" instructions unclear, accidentally unleashed angry Mewtwo upon local ecosystem
gotta paywall em all
I find it so fun the way you manipulated Mew.
"Oh? The glitched Mew from Pokémon Red, Blue, Green and Yellow isn't legitimate enough? Fine, we'll just hack it then"
Many thanks! Just a couple of points for people who come here for Celebi and Mew:
1. Celebi is not allowed anymore in SV;
NOW is STILL the most exciting (and complicated) time to be a Pokemon Fan

I got shiny celebi from the secrets of the jungle promotion
I got a shiny celebi in pokemon go. I'm not really able to get pokemon bank on my 2ds so I'm kind of unable to move over any pokemon from my older games into pokemon home. I also don't have the money for a better home subscription so I guess I'll just have to leave them in their little place for now.
You can port that Celebi to Home for free. You only really need a Home subscription to transfer from Bank and to have more than 30 slots available.
@@excalibur493 yeah, the slots are the problem. there are some pokemon that I can't move to a game where I'd actually use them so I don't have any space in my box for all the ones on my copy of pokemon X I got second hand - it still has the old save file and it has an event pokemon on it, so I don't want to lose them. I could move my celebi over just fine, but I can't move any of my ds pokemon. not enough monies :/
I’ll just trade mine in from Pokémon Go when I’m done with that. So much easier.
Still, this is fascinating info!
I did the 8f glitch too get shiny mew a few months ago I transferred it too crystal (Ds version) and did the cloning glitch and got like 15 shiny mews
For me is shiny poipole in USUM. That’s my white whale at the moment.
I have the event shiny Poipole that was given out, as well as one that I evolved into Naganadel. my favorite ultra beast by far.
If at all possible could you do a step by step video? I know itd be drawn out, but i have had a shiny celebi in my home for about 2 years now. Caught it in go, never would o have ever put it in go had i known its not transferrable like other game to game transfers
I remember I got my shiny celibi by soft reseting, I actually got her on pokemon day! And then they released not one but two shiny celibi events later that year. But mine has a nickname so it is better!
Theoretically couldn't you get all the gen 1 pokemon through gen 2, and wouldn't it be easier that way since you only have to set up the coin case not 8F? Also is there a coin case tutorial you recommend?
You can do it all through gen 2 yeah. I already had 8f setup from a couple months ago though. And I think it was a poketips video I watched initially, but I largely just used the bulbapedia article once I knew it’d probably be able to transfer (link in the description)
Coin case can give you rare candy, no need to grind... also it is easier to edit an egg than a pokemon... also cloning is easy on Gold and Silver. Been doing this since the OG carts of GS
Can also clone of Emerald. Crystal also works but I believe it needs to be more precisely executed than on Gold and Silver.
@@ShiningJudgment666 isnt the 3asiest on emerald cuz the cart actually backs up your save if someth8ng goes wrong?
If ever there was a case for emulating, Nintendo certainly provides it.
I don't care if you shiny hunt, rng manip, or hack the pokemon in. It's not that deep as long as it's legally obtainable and not stat boosted or using illegal moves/abilities.
