    I just made it! Delicious! I just add a little bit of garlic powder, just because I like it with potatoes. The flavor of the caramelized onions is deliish! Almost the same as the one my Spanish friends prepare. Thank for the recipe for two!

      you shouldnt put garlic. its like putting pinaple on pizza. if your adding anything, it would be some chopped up cilantro. you chop it up and mix it up. with everything before you uput it all in the pan to make the tortilla

    Pretty good! I highly recommend making a bigger one, you will solve a couple of meals cooking once. Tortilla de patatas it's also delicious cool, so you won't even have to reheat it. Amazing with a slice of "pa amb tomàquet" (bread with tomato). Also works for a sandwich with baguette type of bread (the baguette with tomato and olive oil instead of butter) if you have to be on the go.

    Good technique except there really is no reason to let the egg/potato mix sit in that bowl for 20 minutes. As soon as it's well mixed, pour it back into the pan and continue as shown in the video.

    • @danring1340
      @danring1340 2 місяці тому +7

      I disagree, there is a very good reason to let the ingredients set for 15 minutes or so. They sit alongside each other with the eggs and they gel together and it's much easier to manage them. If you do it your way, which yes it saves time, you will find they are not gelled together and will more difficult to manage when you are turning the omelette over. It will be more runny. You are not a chef and there is a reason for everything. I'll put it to you like this, why take them out of the pan at all ! Just throw the egg mix on top. Ok it's not going to taste terrible but it's much easier to gel them all together .. you may have said something popular as most wouldn't understand why to leave it set but you are wrong wrong.

      @@danring1340 Hello! Not a troll comment. You are doing something that is totally unnecessary. People have used the old (not letting it stand) technique for hundreds of years - the very results you're trying to mimic. Since your method takes longer and provides nothing over the old one, my comment is still relevant and stands. Even those from Spain, where this dish is from, disagree with your method. You're welcome.

    • @danring1340
      @danring1340 Місяць тому

      I say troll Sir because you continually refer to third parties ie people of Spain, who are not involved, to prove your point. But Happy Eating, as I said it won't taste bad your way but for me you gotta let it stand for maximum effect. Can you let it stand for 5 minutes at the very least but it's up to you. Good bye

    • @BreakfastForOne
      @BreakfastForOne  Рік тому +1

      Resting the mixture for 15-20 minutes allows the flavors to meld together and makes the omelet easier to handle. While you can combine the uncooked eggs with the potatoes and onions while they're still hot, be sure to stir them immediately afterward to prevent the eggs from starting to cook. (In this video, I let the potatoes and onions cool for a few minutes while I beat the eggs.)
