2 years later. In the meantime city and liverpool have won a PL and chelsea have won a UCL
He had a point though. Its quite well known that Woodward rejected the centre backs Jose wanted in 2018 like Maguire, Alderwiereld etc for the price tags quoted but then said to him that if "Varane was available for £100m then the money is there to sign him" when he'd just won his 4th champions league and world cup with France at the time and was never gonna leave Real Madrid at that time.

Elite football clubs being succesful revolves around class managers + right recruitment(competent board). Till united get that combination right league title not feasible.

Nana Gyan with Falcao yes he was coming back from a bad injury and we clearly thought it was worth the risk and it wasn't. Di Maria was. A great signing he was a top 5 player in the world at the time and started brilliantly. LVG wasn't the right man for him. Utd should be going for the likes of Di Maria, Pogba but it doesn't help when there is no stability at the club. Pogba for example should've been one of the final pieces of a rebuild. But we signed him to play with a finished Matic and Herrera, no full backs, awful cbs and no wingers. But I also agree with Gary that you need to sign players who want to join not just for money

I agree. The problem with the fans is that they don’t have patience. They all want a quick fix.
There needs to be a balance. We don't need a quick fix but there needs to be a sense of urgency and a sense things are going in the right direction. We have seen projects unravel rather quickly in the last 6 years and not much structural change has taken place to see us improve in key areas like tactical approach and strategy in the transfer market when it comes to recruiting the right players, coaches and staff.

Gary was spot on with every reply. There is no quick fix for us. We’ve spent money on marquee signings like Di Maria and Falcao and it hasn’t worked. Throwing money around like this United fan wants isn’t the way forward. Fellaini and Herrera leaving was good for the club. Herrera wanted a 5 year contract with 250k a week? For a player approaching 30 that is ridiculous. He has maybe 2 seasons at the top left in him. We’ve spent wisely this window and addressed what we desperately needed to address and that was the defence. Mctominay and Pogba were unreal against Chelsea and Pereira can do a job when he comes in too. We don’t need to spend millions again. We are United and have always put our trust in youth and that is what we should do. Garner and Gomes need more minutes and I hope they receive them.

As an arsenal fan I think utds window wasn't as bad as people are saying. They got 2 proven premier league defenders and if that defence becomes solid that's already a huge improvement.

On Lukaku he never suited United anyway, he was overweight, a terrible touch, never turned up in big games, everything that is the polar opposite of a United player!
Thats not to excuse not replacing either but Ole's vision is now clear, Martial and Rashford as a two with Greenwood backup. We do need a CM but that will clearly be the next target in the next window. James, AWB, Maguire are three great signings, let's focus on that instead of those who left and didn't want to be here!!!!

To be fair Gary made some good points. The whole platform of social media is giving fans a voice which is good, but at the end of the day we are fans, we're not inside the club at meetings or on the end of conference calls. Our voices get heard but they do not Listen.
I must be one of the few who're happy with the window, we got rid of players who didnt want to be at the club and we replaced them with players who have passion. The internet is full of kids who want to sign big name players so they can use them on fifa, or who view the success of the transfer window on how big of a name you sign. Ole is not about that, neither are the board. He knows the club, he knows what we need and he knows how to go about it.
The 3 players we've signed i guarantee will be loved by the end of November, we are building a new team, building, not buying.
I'm genuinely glad that opinions and views shared on social media do not get taken seriously by United because we would be in a fucking mess. Don't get me wrong i like being entertained by the UA-cam channels etc but just because people have 100k followers or what ever it doesn't make them an expert in managing a club and being a master of the transfer window.
This is Man United, We know what we're fakin' doin' lads.

Anyways, I was arguing we don't know what we are doing. Our table finishes, failed scattergun transfer and managerial signings/appointments point to an incompetent board.
That said, this summer was a step in the right direction. We recruited talented players who want to be here and who get the club and what it means to us fans and the stature we have globally.
But that goes down to Ole, and it is worrying that Ole might not have secured all the targets necessary to have a decent season.
We need a DoF, someone who can help establish a transfer policy moving forward so even if Ole gets sacked, we don't completely start from fresh and we have "institutional memory" so the culture we want to build isn't lost because we sacked one guy. We need some expertise and continuity in the board room when it comes to recruitment. I simply do not trust Ed to make the right moves.
Only once we have a powerful ,(as in he or she actually gets a say in transfers and has the power to veto moves) and competent DoF can I feel confident saying Utd know what they are doing. But clearly the last 6 years suggest we do not. We have wasted a ton of money have not come close to CL or PL title. We haven't had the right leadership and the right strategy to deliver the success we all want to see.
I'm fine with everything but not signing a mid get me feel little bit dissapointed

Priince Brvce I’ve not twisted any words. I’ve quoted him verbatim. He was quite rude in cutting short the guy to point out he doesn’t feel United have lost anybody. Then less than a minute later he quite clearly talks about “losing Herrera” and “losing Fellaini”.

Man Utd are a club that I love and have supported for twenty years. We don't win trophies all the time but that's football and life. Sometimes you win something, sometimes you don't but that doesn't mean that the world has ended, even though it feels like that sometimes. Football is a cycle, a transitioning period and that will never change. Success is short-lived and that too will never change. The only reason that United supporters are feeling this way is because for the first time in thirty years, we don't have a fantastic manager in Sir Alex, but no one can be a football manager forever. United will win things again but it's only that we nurture future footballing generations to make that happen.
