Brendo, I always carry a slide baiting set up with me (I have a reel with 2 spools 1 mono, and 1 braid) but barely use it for the cons you mentioned. If the wind is in my face then it's generally blowing weed in. One thing I am going to try is floatation on the slide rig, basically set up a dingle dangle rig for the slide bait and tie that bait on and have it float when deployed. Last point slide baiting is probably the best way to live bait from shore not trying to cast 15 ounces of bait and sinker.
@@toddmillar4041 problem with a float system it that it will prevent it from progressing deeper towards the solid ring. Unfortunately the ol floating dangle will stop you quicker than weed
@@On-PointAdventures thanks for the heads up
@@toddmillar4041 your welcome. Thankyou for taking the time to comment mate. Hope to catch you on the beach one day
Great video mate now I see why it's doesn't work with braid line
Super stoked it helped mate
You use a dacron loop what is it exactly or could you use a rudder band
@@johnclisby8451 a rubber band could also work well. With the Dacron loop tho I know that it is not breaking.
I've actually got rid rid of all of my braid off my reels and replaced with good old fashioned mono and I couldnt be happer.
Mono in some situations is such a pleasure to use.
