well, you have always heard that, burn more than you eat, tell me now, in what shape are you? On a different note, it is imperative for you to understand, that Weight loss as such is not easy as a strategy, either to adopt and sustain or even to set in practice. Because, people require an understanding as to how things are done and what are consequences if you don't continue and what happens midway. Without looking anything into the intricate details, here you are blowing your nonchalant comment and misleading others.
I would recommend drinking Red Tea if anyones serious about finding a natural weight loss agent. This link has some good info on the benefits of red tea bit.ly/2E4Zhcl. I've used it so far from the new year and has helped me lose 10 lbs with a supporting diet. Green tea is also good, do some research!
xandror In a way ... yes. That's correct. Our weight is 90% the food we eat and only 10% our level of activity since basal metabolism is in great measure where calories are burnt, and not so much in exercise, like most people think.
This video is not meant to motivate fitness just talk about the science behind it... I'm no expert but i'd suggest just going to exercise and simplify things not complicate them.. to me complicating ANYTHING just makes it frustrating.. remember quitting exercise isn't going to help u and ur getting stronger after EVERY exercise. just my 2 cents..
This is basically saying that you can never keep fit in the long run. Best way to lose FAT is simply stop eating refined carbs and start building muscle.
+Wong Dave There is actually more truth to this than what the video proposes. For ever 1lbs of muscle you have, you burn 50 calories every day to keep it functioning. So if you pack on 10lbs of muscle, you effectively need 500 more calories a day. Thus, the more muscle you have, the easier it is to burn fat and lose weight as your body will be burning calories faster to maintain function. On average, 70% of your daily intake goes to maintaining bodily function. Only 20% is actually used for daily activity like walking, running and lifting. Also, if you know about satellite cells and how they give muscle cells their nuclei during repair, they retain the nuclei which is what processes all the enzymes, protein and energy in making the muscle function. Once you have a new nuclei your muscle can retain is size and strength easier. So, once you pack on the muscle, your body is able to maintain that muscle size easier. So while it's hard to gain muscle, once you have it, it's relatively easy to keep and you don't have to work out as hard to keep it. This is how muscle memory works. I believe satellite cell nuclei lending last for like 10-20 years.
+DzuariHD Nah, Dave is right. Watch John Burgman here on youtube. Watch "That Sugar Film". I have a Master's in human physiological development. Metabolism and age have huge factors in this too. You'd have a more accurate number if you went off, "Average Calories per day for men". Just google that. I believe thats for a 5'11" male. So if you are shorter than that, subtract a bit. Taller, add a bit. Then for every 10lbs of muscle you add, add 500 calories per day. If you are wanting to watch your calories it's much simpler and less pain in the ass to just pay attention to the amount of food you typically eat each day, then remove half a meal. That will give you a calorie deficit. I've found the simplest way to do this is either watch your intake or just get normal meal portions, then only eat half of the meal. Save the other half for your next meal. That's a bit extreme as you are basically cutting your calories in half. But it is the easiest method I've found for those that are too busy to count calories all the time.
Is there a better feeling than eating a pizza without a guilt knowing that it wouldn't mess up your fitness plans? NextLevelDiet, thank you for everything!

thats the harsh cold truth. its either that or go be unhealthy and fat. think about it, your body is your only tool to interact with this world. life would be so much better with an A grade vessel to express yourself in.
please work smart not hard. Exercising hardly matters at all to lose weight. It's a tremendous fallacy. Just follow the 'slow carb diet'. You can google how to follow it for free and you will lose weight, no exercise needed. Also, it's not gonna 'go away eventually' unless you change something - doesn't make scientific sense
Exercising is fun though. Love it. I won't sit around starving myself and feeling weak, when I know healthy food gives me energy that can get me strong inside and out and feeling fit. Swap that donut for a bowl of full fat Greek yogurt with a banana clean out the gut and colon, and use the energy to get fit.
This is not completely wrong but a serious oversimplification. The body handles different types of macronutrients differently, depending on many factors, including the macronutrient ratio. For instance, you will lose body fat while eating a surplus of total calories as long as more fat calories are burnt off than are consumed. There are also factors like insulin or glucagon secretion. In fact, your basal metabolic rate should not depend on your weight since body fat is not a very active tissue and does not require much energy to be maintained. If your BMR goes down while you are losing weight, you are losing or shrinking metabolically actice tissue (e.g. muscle), and that means that you are doing something seriously wrong and are causing what is called metabolic damage! During healthy weight loss, your BMR and fitness level should go up and you should feel much more energetic. You should gain a certain amount of metabolicaly active tissue or at least not lose any while the fat is burnt off. This requires a steady supply of carbohydrate calories (almost no conversion to fat) along with an eating and exercising regimen that is designed to encourage glucagon secretion/lipolysis in the presence of enough glycogen to prevent the body from lowering its BMR. This is how you lose lots of body weight while feeling amazing all the time. I got rid of ~70 pounds myself. In that scenario you lose weight until your body has reached its ideal body fat percentage (men: 5-10%). At that body fat percentage, lipolysis decreases somewhat as the body becomes more reluctant to burn fat and weight loss slows down, leaving you typically at a very healthy weight in the lower normal range.
Walking doesn't burn fat just stored sugar.. You should exercise at an intensity that puts your heart rate over 110 and then you will burn fat for fuel.. This involves sweating, getting out of breath and feeling uncomfortable.. Plus it helps to exercise early in the day in a fasted state when your muscles don't have a lot of stored sugar and so will be more inclined to burn fat.. I'm afraid that this video is very simplistic and in no way scientific, bro-science delivered authoritatively..
As per my experienced, I walked around 1hour daily with the minimum of speed of 6-8km/hr, so total around 6 km per hour something, this reduced my weight up to 3kg in just 2 weeks, however due to some personal problem, I stopped the walking but now I again started with the same pace, hoping to get some good results..
the laws of thermodynamics dictate that energy cannot be created or destroyed it MUST come from somewhere your body uses energy even when you are sleeping so if you reduce your energy intake enough your body will draw from fat its stores and convert that into energy to stay alive exercise simply speeds that process up (but also makes you hungrier potentially negating the exersise) you will lose weight while sitting on your ass watching youtube or whatever people with a slow metabolism use less energy but will still lose weight increasing muscle mass will increase your metabolism possibly to the point that you can eat that donut during break time without negative effects but for those of you like myself that hate physical activity you can lose weight with ZERO exercise but it will take longer and you will need to eat less and possibly skip meals depending on your diet but do not starve yourself completely after 24 hours with no food your brain will go into a sort of low power mode (like battery saveing mode on your phone) and your brain is a big energy suck (around 25% of your energy consumption) you want to keep that glob of neurons running at full power so trick it by eating 3-4 SMALL meals (below 500KJ each) per day i aim for 5500KJ of energy per day to maintain my current weight and if i want to slim down or bulk up i reduce by 1000KJ or increase by 2000KJ respectively faster is not always better exploit the laws of physics and manipulate your own physiology to your advantage
Not true. If you still eat carbs then your insulin will be high, and insulin BLOCKS lypolisis, it means that you just can't access your fat, your body does not see it. It responds by increasing leptin and ghrelin and you feel tired and hungry after this sweat and overeat again. NO FAT is lost in the process. I'm a doctor myself, have been doing a lot of research on this, and lost myself severel kg already by doing intermittant fasting and ketogenic diet. Try watching MD Jason Fung videos, he does wonderful job explaining all of the physiology.
Umm lot I’ve been big all my life, thanks mum 👍🏽, really teaching me to keep a healthy body lol. But it’s so overwhelming, considering I have never been in shape before, my will just isn’t high enough, I’m really trying ☹️
Drink water before eating so that you don't overeat. And stay active by doing some jumping or skipping everyday. Also cutting out sugar will be good in the long run
This really answers my question, and i realize i'm in a plateu phase! It helps me to start doing the right way to face that net energy balance! Thankyou!
Yes that plateau thing is REAL. The problem is the limitation of walking as exercise. Maxed out at 4.25-4.5 MPH means burning fat slower as you shed weight during the "Honeymoon" period. The problem is jogging isn't practical for many as it is a threat to knees, ankles, hips for some of us. Weight training needs to be mixed in to take weight loss further.
I don't believe the calorie model. When I use the exercise bike at my gym for 30 minutes, I lose so much weight that day, even though the bike says I only spend 250 calories doing that. Maybe by body continues spending calories even after I stop using the bike, for balancing muscle energy and what ever chemical levels, and that's why I lose so much weight for just using it for 30 minutes. Has anyone else noticed this? Like I don't lose anything from walking, no matter how long I walk - could be 30 minutes or two hours and my weight is the same the next morning, however though, when I use the exercise bike, I lose like 1 cm from my waist every day I do it. If you haven't tried this you must - this is unreal.
Weight loss green store tea worked for me. Too much tv watching and web surfing had me gaining weight. I maintain a constant weight now, going down slowly so as not to shock the body and leave me weak. The potency is perfect for my needs.
It seems most comments miss the main message of this video: If you eat your 2 slices of bread with peanut butter & your other regular meals. And keep these the same over time. Exercise at the beginning shows weight loss. But you hear so often that people plateau in dieting. The message is that BMR is lower, so those "free exercise" calories are gone! Don't be frustrated when you hit a plateau, it's normal. And understanding why can help you.
Not to distinguish between fat loss and weight loss. You can put on weight exercising because it’s muscle. You might also put on weight exercising because you eat more because you’re hungry. But muscle gain is excellent gain and shouldn’t be discouraged
Balance fat proteins and carbs, keeping carbs on a slight restriction. Workout using heavy weights and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). It's easy in principle, but you've got to have the discipline to attain your goals.
I like how the example uses just one 300 cal donut. Now all people need to do is to compute the caloric cost of everything else they eat/drink on a daily basis. I'm pretty confident in estimating that most people will need to do more than just a one hour walk everyday for the rest of their lives. There's an additional option that wasn't mentioned in the end tho ~ increasing metabolism through anaerobic exercise. I wonder why that wasn't brought up.
+Gogo Must I meet my calorie intake wit exercise? I created a calorie deficit by eating less and I'm running/jogging for 40-60 minutes everyday. I consume about 1600 calories daily. Will this be sufficient?
Thanks for asking. :) But I'm just a moderately successful self taught guy and in no way an authority on this subject matter. That said, it largely depends on genetics. My sister goes to gym frequently 3x a week, puts in more effort than my wife who goes to gym with me only once a week. They both roughly take in the same amount calories on a weekly basis. My wife has more body building success than my sister. What I'm trying to say with my original comment, is that in most cases, people try to "out - exercise" the amount of food they eat. That is almost impossible to achieve unless you have super good genes or you go the way of steroids. In addition - if placing yourself in a caloric deficit feels like torture, that also means you are increasing the cortisol level in your system - which more often than not will cause you to rebound the moment one of your life factors change i.e. lessen the jog/run or cross the caloric input line you set for yourself.
So if I don't want to change my diet (I barely eat, but the food I do eat is junk food like noodles, chips and cheese), I should just keep upping my exercises?
This plateau is a very real phenomenon but do not be discouraged. Personally I started with 67kg . My ideal weight is 55kg. I reached 61kg with brisk walking alone. Then the plateau began. No matter how much brisk walking I do, it does not budge. So I did some research and have to radically change the way I eat. One fruit like an apple for example before any meal. Enjoy the apple and u tend to eat lesser during that meal . Now it's a routine and I've reached and maintained my ideal weight around 54-55kg. Happy trying!
Since last July i have went on a very strict diet and i have started losing weight, now i have been eating 800-900 calories per days for almost 4 months so why DO I KEEP LOSING WEIGHT?!?! My metabolism is supposed to be slowed down so i should be at my "plateau" zone, but i'm not, i have increased my workout a bit and lost other 3 kilos in less than 2 months, i weight 48 kg for 171 cm now and i'm scared of both keep losing weight and gaining it so what am i supposed to do
+Kikketta11ify Why are you increasing your workout load instead of maintaining the your weight by following your normal routine again? I don't know what your strict diet looks like but as long as do not eat or drink sweets you should be fine in maintaining your weight. You have a BMI of 16.5, that's a bit too low if you ask me. Aim for 1600 kcal /day. Clean carbs, no sugar. Make sure your body does not loose too much weight. Once your body breaks down on important tissues such as of your heart or other vital organs, that's irreversible for your health condition. So don't lose any more weight.
+Kikketta11ify Your daily calorie intake is quite low, it's not surprising you keep losing weight especially considering you exercise yourself. Doctors recommend you consume 600 kcal less than what your body needs to maintain its weight. Usually that is around 1200 kcal for women. And the amount of calories you have to consume increases the more physically active you are. 800 kcal per day seems too low, you run the risk of your body going into panic mode, which means your body will store fat extremely easy. The probability of you getting back all the weight you lost is higher.
By decreasing calorie intake and increasing energy expenditure, your body can go to a survival mode where your body automatically slows down your metabolism and start to preserve fat for survival as a result you achieve plateau... so how would you further reduce weight if your body is already in a survival mode??
If you keep below your basic metabolic rate (BMR) you will lose weight. If your BMR stars at 2000c and you're eating 1,500c you will keep losing weight until your BMR reaches 1,500c in other words if you're an average hight man eating 1,500 calories you would keep losing weight until you got to 130lbs at which point you would plateau and that is with no exercise. I think your video is dangerous it kind of suggests to overweight people that it's more difficult to lose weight than it actually is. If you stick to 1,500 calories a day then realistically you will keep losing weight until you are skinner than you probably want to be.
Dropping some weight does not only aid you to feel comfortable, confident and happy but also reduce risk for heart attacks, and turns you to a much healthier individual.
Bryan Autry your point?
I want to lose weight because I want to learn martial arts
maybe..in the 1950s lot of people had heart attacks but were not fat at all..if you ask me fat is bad but stress is worse.

Thankyou. I appreciate this video. Makes sense.
This is a video we would watch in school 😭
1:30 me going to ask my sister if she ate the food I left in the fridge
The narration turned and informative video into a meditation session, never heard someone so unenthusiastic
So, it's very important to update your diet frequently.
+Patrick Ryan Try going out for an hour walk 18 - 20 hours into a fast, you have nothing else to burn. :P
As per my experienced, I walked around 1hour daily with the minimum of speed of 6-8km/hr, so total around 6 km per hour something, this reduced my weight up to 3kg in just 2 weeks, however due to some personal problem, I stopped the walking but now I again started with the same pace, hoping to get some good results..
the laws of thermodynamics dictate that energy cannot be created or destroyed
it MUST come from somewhere
your body uses energy even when you are sleeping so if you reduce your energy intake enough
your body will draw from fat its stores and convert that into energy to stay alive
exercise simply speeds that process up
(but also makes you hungrier potentially negating the exersise)
you will lose weight while sitting on your ass watching youtube or whatever
people with a slow metabolism use less energy but will still lose weight
increasing muscle mass will increase your metabolism
possibly to the point that you can eat that donut during break time without negative effects
but for those of you like myself that hate physical activity
you can lose weight with ZERO exercise
but it will take longer and you will need to eat less and possibly skip meals depending on your diet
but do not starve yourself completely
after 24 hours with no food your brain will go into a sort of low power mode (like battery saveing mode on your phone)
and your brain is a big energy suck
(around 25% of your energy consumption)
you want to keep that glob of neurons running at full power so trick it by eating 3-4 SMALL meals (below 500KJ each) per day
i aim for 5500KJ of energy per day to maintain my current weight and if i want to slim down or bulk up i reduce by 1000KJ or increase by 2000KJ respectively
faster is not always better
exploit the laws of physics and manipulate your own physiology to your advantage

👍👍👍💁💁
Thank you for the tips, very helpful to me! Great video
Drink water before eating so that you don't overeat. And stay active by doing some jumping or skipping everyday. Also cutting out sugar will be good in the long run
This really answers my question, and i realize i'm in a plateu phase! It helps me to start doing the right way to face that net energy balance! Thankyou!
Awesome! thanks for posting! Keep up the great work!
That answers everything you need to know in your weight loss journey.
You explain really good!
Wow, a science video that doesn't make things sound in the most complicated way possible!
Nice my friend needs this.
Found this scrolling on UA-cam... glad I did!!
This is what I used for weight loss with consistency and it worked! I only have a few packs leftestoy teniendo retrasos con el tren
thanku sir for your prestigious words and animation😊😊😊😊😊
Very important and useful tips. thanks for sharing!
i'm glad this video cuts all the bullcrap in weight loss. there are no secrets, it's so simple yet requires determination. so there are no excuses!
It is so much more complicated than that. We aren’t furnaces. The composition of food and the type of exercise matter.
Super informative video about overcoming the weight loss plateau! Thanks a lot!!
Great tips keep up the good work
Wonderful video. Great explanation well done
Short & sweet video well explained ....I understand the concept very well ....I want to Thank you ...🙏🙏
Who else is checking the comments if it worked 🤗😂...🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋. Like
Weight loss green store tea worked for me. Too much tv watching and web surfing had me gaining weight. I maintain a constant weight now, going down slowly so as not to shock the body and leave me weak. The potency is perfect for my needs.
aight I’m starting my journey today boys🐸
Nice video sir. Well done👌👍👍
This was fascinating, and done in layman's terms. Very useful and applicable knowledge. Thanks.
There are tricks to expedite and optimize energy consumption by what you do in the gym and in life. #RecipeForFitness
Thanks for confirming the plateau , that is what I am thinking is happening to me at the moment even with my high intensity training .
Best I’ve seen soo far
I get that this is really obvious. But there's something satisfying about seeing it explained so clearly
Nice video
Very entertaining presentation....🤨
Well explained..
It seems most comments miss the main message of this video:
If you eat your 2 slices of bread with peanut butter & your other regular meals. And keep these the same over time. Exercise at the beginning shows weight loss.
But you hear so often that people plateau in dieting. The message is that BMR is lower, so those "free exercise" calories are gone!
Don't be frustrated when you hit a plateau, it's normal. And understanding why can help you.
A worth while video to watch. Thanks for the upload.
Metabolism varies widely. Also nice profile pic.
+Gogo Must I meet my calorie intake wit exercise? I created a calorie deficit by eating less and I'm running/jogging for 40-60 minutes everyday. I consume about 1600 calories daily. Will this be sufficient?
Thanks for asking. :)
But I'm just a moderately successful self taught guy and in no way an authority on this subject matter.
Gogo Thanks! I feel better than I have since primary school...and I'm in tenth grade now.
So if I don't want to change my diet (I barely eat, but the food I do eat is junk food like noodles, chips and cheese), I should just keep upping my exercises?
Do high intensity workouts. Build muscle. This not only raises calories but also muscles are energy hungry and will increase your energy expenditure.
I wanna go on this diet
My metabolism is supposed to be slowed down so i should be at my "plateau" zone, but i'm not, i have increased my workout a bit and lost other 3 kilos in less than 2 months, i weight 48 kg for 171 cm now and i'm scared of both keep losing weight and gaining it so what am i supposed to do
+Kikketta11ify Because there is no starvation mode. This is why people with eating disorders can die.
+Kikketta11ify eat a large pizza and get depressed.
works for me
+Kikketta11ify Why are you increasing your workout load instead of maintaining the your weight by following your normal routine again? I don't know what your strict diet looks like but as long as do not eat or drink sweets you should be fine in maintaining your weight. You have a BMI of 16.5, that's a bit too low if you ask me. Aim for 1600 kcal /day. Clean carbs, no sugar. Make sure your body does not loose too much weight. Once your body breaks down on important tissues such as of your heart or other vital organs, that's irreversible for your health condition. So don't lose any more weight.
What you are eating is not enough.
How ironic.
The ad before the video was literally about *LOSING WEIGHT!*
Excellent Video
Reversing Insulin resistance is the answer to losing weight, not an increase in exercise.
thyhan for the video....this was one i wanted to know
Thanks
wow this's nice one
Great VIDEO love your content "mechanisms in medicine inc."
