My wife said that fishing is a perfect hobby for me, as I am a musician. I have 13 guitars, when 3 really cover everything. So when I took up bass fishing, I had three rods within a week of starting. Now she took it up and has more rods than me! That’s ok so long as she never decides to play guitar… great video Tyler!
Must be a Musician thing. I play drums, and I have about 10 snare drums and tons of cymbals. I don't use them all all the time. and actually have like 2 or 3 I love and use all the time. But they all have different sounds, same with drum sticks. I was the same way with rods. I got 3 like the first week of picking up the hobby.
Hey Tyler we met today at the stage 5 pro meet day, it was a honor getting to chat with you, I was the guy from Cookeville TN. Once again, it made my day meeting you!
I carry only 2 rods for bank fishing. One baitcaster med heavy rod and a spinning rod and its efficient. Changing lures is a challenge but better than carry dozens of rods around. If I had a boat I would bring everything 😆
On the bank for freshwater, I will bring up to 3. I usually only bring 2 though. In saltwater, on a boat or the shore, I will bring 1 to 3 depending on the time of year.
Tyler, PLEASE do more of this type of video! I definitely need more info on finding and patterning fish. And, to watch how you find and pattern is far far more valuable than the "best lures" type of videos! Thanks!
Tyler I have waited so long for this type of format!!!! Man seriously so great. It was such a learning experience as I watched you fish through out the day and instead of try to guess what you were thinking or why you choose that bait or trying to figure out why you were in that area. Or heck even trying to figure out what time of day it was in that fish catch. It was just such a learning experience to listen to you talk me through it!!! As if you were watching the video for the first time.
I’m one of the few whom uses some of the cheapest equipment overall and very few fishing rods. However, I took a guide last weekend to familiarize with a certain lake and his gear was worse than all of mine! 🤣

I carry at least two rods (One Med. and one Med Heavy) and a max of 4 when it's Frog season. The two extra rods is my Frog rod and another Med Heavy with braid to throw plastics into lily pads.
I have one combo it's a Lew's laser pro speed stick specs are lure wt 3/8 to 3/4 power is MH fast taper and it's 6'10" and the line wt is 10-20 and I use 40 braid on it and I have done everything on to soft plastic, frogs and even up to 2oz swimbaits and haven't ever had one problem
It's alittle tough but I manage carrying 6 rods. The faster you can get your bait out there so you covor more water the better. Using a fast retrieve works but occasionally you can slow it down some so you get better reaction. If after 10 15 no bites switch poles. If after say 2 to 3 bait change no bites 2 at most up to 20 minutes tops pick a new area. You want to covor a ton of water to have better luck. 2 baits 20 minutes tops then a new area.
Yeah, I have 5 rods 3 baitcasters, and 2 spinnings that I take with me bank pond fishing. Have a backpack too that's heavy with the tackle that I put two utility boxes and a few Ziploc bags of baits in along with a Bass Pro Shop tackle bag 😆. It's a lot but I like to change up if things are not biting. Been having a bit of a time lately getting bit on my Blue craw Ochos in the pond I go to. Pond low and fairly clear and pretty shallow like 4 or 5 feet or so. Told ya before about never having any luck on jigs got my first chatterbait fish this week 😆. Was around 4 lbs or so. Will try casting jigs soon. Probably use my Black max 7 foot MH rod with 14 lbs sunline FC sniper line.
I know why it a no brainer. It's so you can have a large array of baits tied on with the different line for each rod for the type of bait you use. Also, without having to waste a lot of time tying on baits or putting new line set up the rods ready to go
I have 7 casting rods and 1 spinning rod. I’m a bank angler so I only bring 3/4 rods when I go. Fall and winter I use M / M - MH/MF and then in spring I’ll transition to one MH/MF and then a MH/F, H/F as vegetations grows and then becomes thick. Late fall and winter I use a lot of balsa baits so M/M is my go to. Come spring balsa baits kinda go away so I switch to mod fast and fast rods.
