  • Two days of eating and drinking in the enchanting city of Dubrovnik, Croatia. We road trip back to our base in Split and stop in Mali Ston for their world renowned oysters, and then nearby beautiful Komarna for wine and spectacular views at Terra Madre Winery. Join us for coffee in Old Town, a kayak excursion to Betina Cave, have a craft pale ale, then climb the steps of shame from Game of Thrones to have a Croatian classic dish - Pašticada! We head to Proto for salt crusted sea bass and yellowfin tuna tartare, then grab some ice cream, then drinks at a locals favorite bar just outside the old city walls. We take some amazing pizza back to our rental and get ready for our drive back to Split the next day. The next day we stop at Mali Ston, where they've been farming oysters since Roman times! We have amazing fresh oysters and head to our last stop, Terra Madre Winery in Komarna for stunning views and even better wine. Join us on this amazing adventure through Dubrovnik and the surrounding area on this food tour that we will never forget! Already can't wait to go back.

You are so good at describing the dishes you eat! You could be a food critic for any newspaper. I grew up in New Orleans and know what good food tastes like, but I could not describe it the way you do. You've got me wanting to go to all of these restaurants. It would be helpful if you noted the price of the meals. I saw one video that stated the prices are seriously going up. Making Croatia one of the more expensive places in Europe to visit. What are your thoughts?

Thanks so much for watching. I went to culinary school. And I leave the links of each restaurant in the description below the video so you can see the entire menu. In the videos I prefer to highlight the food regardless of price. But I do leave the resources to get the price in the description. I hope that helps. Thank you so much for your feedback!

Girl you're beautiful! I almost fall in love with you! if you want a slightly different food tour, with original local food, visit Slavonia (not Slovenia) and Baranja - regions in Croatia. Try fish stew, goulash, kulenova-seka, homemade sausages, čvarke, slavonsku šunku, kulen, pileći-paprikaš, sarmu, punjenu papriku.... mmm i think you would like it

Figs? Nope....it's dried plums. I do not know any recipe with figs and meat combined in traditional Dalmatian cuisine. Figs are usually eaten fresh or dried or we make jam from them. But most people eat them fresh when in season... usually just put them in fridge until really cold.

thank you so much for watching and for the feedback. Please refer to the menu of the restaurant as well as most recipes for ‘Dubrovnik Capon’ which consisted of stewed meat, with figs, peaches, raisins, sour orange marmalade, honey, white wine, vegetables and barley. Also refer to the menu of the restaurant I visited in this video which includes dishes with fig. Thanks again for watching.

@@whatomorrowbrings It's not that i do not believe you there were figs inside, I'm just saying it's not the traditional way. So it was a bit of a experimentation on the chefs part.

A lot of them compare Croatian and Italian cuisine, but they are by no means the same, of course, it is a Mediterranean way of preparation, but Italians use more spices like oregano, basil, while Croatian cuisine is milder and has a much fresher and natural taste.
