I would like to replace my titanium implants with zirconia. Experiencing inflammation, urticaria and tissue swelling. I believe it’s related to the titanium implants. Suggestions for having this done. It’s my two upper front teeth.
That is horrible. I would really need to see you in person to provide an opinion. Or at least some very high-quality x-rays and photographs. If you are reacting to the titanium implants, they can be removed and replaced with zirconia. But it is more difficult to remove an implant than a natural tooth.
Same story with us! MELISA test is used for testing this problem. There is a strong link between titanium dental implants (allergy or metal toxicity) and autoimmune disease start. Metal toxins are closely associated with the neuroendocrine system, or itching or urticaria. There are so many high-ranking academic articles on this topic (please search "Allergic contact dermatitis caused by titanium screws and dental implants"; "Metal allergy patient treated by titanium implant denture: A case report with at least 4-year follow-up". Also, there are studies on the link between dental X-rays and thyroid diseases.

I live in Tijuana where I will get a dental implant. The dentists I got an estimate from said the implant is titanium but the crown is zirconium/porcelain. So is this still a titanium implant since the mouth makes contact with the crown?
@@SereneOrthodontics Why do these dental office want more then a normal person can pay .I need Implants too but I just wish these doctors would care more about helping people than about the money .I was looking at what 1 implant cost from a supplier it’s like 200.00 to 300.00 then they hit you for that couple grand for a 300.00 implant yeah I understand it doctor need to have a income but it would be nice to have doctors that’s look at your income and still be willing work with you to get the implants you need .

The mere fact the dental industry has "under-qualified" professionals placing them to start with? Is a HUGE issue. At 2.1 MILLION IMPLANT FAILURES reported in 2019 that continues to rise yearly, should be alarming to everyone.
Just saw an investigative report stating that the FDA has 3 million complaints on dental implants and their serious side effects.

Yes. I do those all the time as long as the patient does not have any metal allergies or sensitivities.

Yes the implant is titanium. Zirconia has zirconia for both

The implants depend on which one and who is doing it. Zirconia implants range from 2-$3000

It IS a metal! Its considered a transitional metal but still, a metal.
This is not elemental Zirconium. Zirconia does not conduct a charge, so in physical and material science, it is NOT a metal.,

what is the life of single zirconia implant?
I’ll let you know in 10-20 years. Titanium ones if well done seem to last a lifetime and Zirconia seems to work as well.
