- Sadly, this Meal Ready to Eat has been discontinued. I suppose, just like the McRib, it was for a 'Limited Time Only.' Menu 16 from 2015, Rib Shaped Barbecue Flavor Pork Patty, might not sound that appetizing, but this US Military Field Ration was surprisingly decent. It was messy for a combat ration, and not all of the components matched up perfectly, but the BBQ sandwich you can construct from it is actually pretty tasty.

Great video. The Ranger Pudding looks like something I would like with the cookie dipped in as well.
I served before ration heaters we would roll up some pb and creamer and heat up some water for coffee. Never ate a warm ration, try the early MRE’s cold.
When your wife says we have mcrib at home haha looks good. Great video as always

That was a great meal back in the day. I agree about the salt 1/2 in the FRH and the other 1/2 for the meal, I carried condiments back in my days in the Army. I carried a container that held sprinkles that I filled with pepper, garlic powder,onion powder, paprika,and salt. It served me well.
This reminds me I have over 30 MREs from 2015 that I have to go through and figure out what I want to do with them , I bought 12 cases of the 2015 MREs back in 2020 for $200 . It seemed like a good idea at the time. I ate the meals that I liked and was left with a few that I'm not really a fan of .. I think I even have some of the Training MREs left. ....

Been A while since I tried this one. I like them every so often, but like some other menus, I wouldn't want it all of the time. Looks like I remember. Good looking menu. I haven't had A good FRH in A long time. Even up to 2020 , they are weak. Components look good. Glad you enjoyed. Peace, John.

this was always my favorite MRE I should add I always wished it had cheese. personally if I didn't eat it alone I would add the rib and BBQ sauce to the rice and make a PB&J with the snack bread. ranger pudding for me didn't work without crackers tho i would some times trade a Coco beverage and the PB for a main that wasn't popular like the vomlet I always wanted more food so I learned to love the crappy mains. I had a sergeant who just didn't eat alot who you could trade a bag of skittles and a coffee for a whole MRE minus any coffee. i always went to the field with 4 packs of skittles and a pack of instant coffee always got 1 free MRE a day. was always a not so popular menu tho he didn't like the McRib so it was always a trade if he got one.
moisture or storage eventually gets to the powders and more perishable items like chocolates in my experience. it's why proper storage of MREs is so important. But usually most are still edible.
