Surprised you didnt mention how annoying the start and select buttons are. This controller could last 40yrs if u dont mind changing out microswitches. I hated it when I first started using it until I got used to it, now I run 0 deadzone on everything. Still havent gone back to my Elite 2 (Elite 2 no.12)
Awesome review. I’ve returned the Elite Series 2 Core twice now with a left trigger issue. I was on the fence about buying the TBS controller, but I think I’m gonna give it a go now. If you have the Best Buy Total Tech Plan this can be returned at any time no questions asked.
Thinking about buying this or the Apex 4 probably will end up with both since I will feel like I am missing out on the other hopefully they've fixed some of the issues by now on the Turtle beach. Congratulations on the weight lost its hard work glad you were able to do it.
I got the device more than 10 days ago, and used it for 3 days, and this is my impression: Pros: 1- The thumbstick is the best ever, and it improves your accuracy in shooting games, and there is no drift, even with zero selection in the deadly point, and with the maximum speed mode, it is truly amazing and amazing. 2- The control screen is fantastic and very beautiful, it made the adjustment fast and comfortable. 3- The buttons are very great, especially the arrow buttons, I no longer make a mistake in pressing the left and up arrows, I am currently using a GameSir device, and the arrows in it are bad, when you press the left arrow, the up arrow is pressed with it!! Cons: 1- The R B and L B buttons are not prominent enough, and this is something that bothered me somewhat, sometimes you do not realize that you pressed them!! 2- The same applies to the rear wing buttons, they are not prominent and difficult to reach. 3- The hand size is a bit big, and when I hold it it is a bit uncomfortable, unlike the GameSir, the GameSir controller is very comfortable, and the size is acceptable. 4- When I was playing and the wire was connected for charging, I was subjected to continuous electric shock from the small golden circles designated for wireless charging on the back, which bothered me a lot, and I had to return the controller after using it for three days, but it seems to be a manufacturing defect. In the end, thank you, my dear brother, for the wonderful review.
Nice review! Any update on the left stick grinding? Seems like that's the #1 concern and a reason a lot are being returned. Only thing holding back my purchase.
I have had no issues since the little gloss I saw come off I've had way worse with anti friction rings so for now I'm now worried about it. But if it get worse I'll update since I do use this Controller a lot now.
It's a 90/10 yes for me on this controller. But what gets me is that the controller from after you get it and update it. The left stick does drift by when you don't use it. But after moving the stick around etc it does stop most times. Hopefully Turtle Beach does release another update that will control that issue within the cpu in the controller
Great review. I bought the same controller off eBay for 107 UK pounds I've had loads of issues where I had to hard reset. It turns out the app was at fault.once I sussed out how to do everything on the controller screen it was ok. Had a few disconection issues from the dongle
I personally have bought this controller and I was very off put by the light weight.....at first!!!!! I then bought a elite series two to compare I noticed after about 4 hours my wrist would begin to ache with the weight of the heavy elite on the other hand i could play with the stealth all day long and I also find my self using the onboard controller settings very often they operate flawless and make it way easier to mute mic on controller then the system interface also I'm a sucker for fancy lights and the rgb is very well integrated into the controller also did we mention HALL EFFECT sticks!!!!!! Zero stick drift!!!! Just a tip customize profiles on controller not the app!!!
Great video dude. I am in the market for a new “pro” controller and this one is intriguing. Zero drift sticks: amazing. Features: amazing. I have heard its a little light but hey I can live with that. There can be connection issues with a wired headset attached but my headset is wireless so no dramas. I agree with you on the sticks….. there should be swappable options at this price point. That being said though, £20 more than elite and £20 less than scuf instinct (uk) it offers enough to be viable. Rgb. I get what your saying and you are right but I will point out you can have different lighting for different profiles which is handy so you know what your picking up and adjust accordingly (if necessary). I have kids that will no doubt change my settings so this feature is useful for me. Also my razer headset has rgb on the ear cups which I will never see so I dont see how its different really. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Definitely not for me, too many negatives. Like you said, you can only adjust in increments of 5 for the dead zone. The lights are nice, but can you turn them off at all or are they always on?
Yea the dead zone can be updated with an update I bet, but the lights on the controller I just played with it for 10 minutes and couldn't get them to turn of there's a setting on the pc app but it isn't working smh. More update it seems like I would like to see in a month or 2 if they get all these nagging bugs figured out.
I bought it and returned it after a few days. Right stick had major issues with getting stuck while aiming and buttons were glitching causing actions without actually pressing buttons
I just got it. it is pretty good. I like the fact that it weighs less then the xbox elite series 2 controller. the buttons are super responsive. plus the battery life is better than the ps5 controller even with the screen is lite up.
I agree with everything but the battery life it's says 30 hrs and that's just not the case unfortunately I was 5 hours in and 44 percent left. But the controller buttons are great and the screen amazing.
@@feorr1 so can try some bw100 spay it all over the buttons to see if something is in there are get a warranty replacement if it's the controller itself.
I’ve heard the joysticks on elite controller have high wear and tear. The first one only lasted a couple of years with high wear and tear. Not sure if this one is worst
An easy fix for the loose kontrol freek is to cut out a small circular piece of paper towel and place it underneath the kontrol freek. It worked perfectly for my turtle beach recon controller
I haven't played with it much since I keep playing with new controllers but from the time I have put in on it that left stick grind definitely got worse.
I honestly went back to the elite 2. I dont vibe w the rear paddles. They're much better on the elite 2 and you can change your button mapping presets w a single button press.
Good take but IMO missed a big issue I have with it. That Damm screen button in middle. If you hit in in game play your f'd until you back out of the menu. There needs to be an update to enable a long press like they did powering it up. That way if you want to get in there it's intentional
One question do i need that turtle beach stereo adapter and spliter if i have turtle beach recon or do i only need the spliter, because i want to use usb mic on my xbox and i watched your video , Thanks if you respond
So for this controller in particular you will need the splitter but you don't need the Turtle Beach adapter because there's no way to hook that up to this controller and the same thing will be for the Recon controller you will need a splitter but you won't need the Turtle Beach adapter since there's no Outlet at the bottom for that adapter to plug into the controller. So essentially the same thing applies to the Pro Controller video I did for this controller and the Turtle Beach Recon controller itself you can hook a mic up to it with just the controller I have a video on how to do that exactly so just check out that in my video section.
I ordered one for PC use, but returned it a few days later because of the excessive grinding, and the d pad locking up when pressing down and trying to go right. That d-pad is actually one of the worst I've ever tried, even without the sticking problem. But then again, I was an early nineties Sega kid, so I'm probably spoilt d-pad wise. Also, the display had a slight tilt to it. To top it off, sticks stopped responding in a few instances, requiring a game restart. Even after updating usb receiver and controller. Very weird stuff. It seems build quality is an issue, with them trying to get it to hit stores right before christmas. Battery lasted a measly 7 to 8 hours, with all the bells and whistles turned down. In my eyes, price/performance ratio is way off. Maybe they should have omitted the fairly useless screen and rgb, and upgraded the materials used. These controllers are not going to last. I'm going to wait for the gulikit KK3 max to hit amazon later this month. It'll probably have it's own issues, but it will probably cost much less and might be easier to repair.
Hey thanks for the comment. Yeah I have seen that a lot it seems like from people with this controller. Now I can only speak for my experience I didn't have all these issues unfortunately I kind of wish I did being a reviewer on the UA-cam I would have loved to be able to cover all that stuff but I just didn't have all these issues and a lot of people are having with this controller. Yes I'm going to get the new controller coming out next month as well and also review that I had another viewer kind of mention that controller to me so we will be taking a look at that but very disappointing that this controller seems as if it's not lasting very long I do agree with you on a lot of your points where it comes to material versus price if the controllers are already breaking down again I haven't had that issue I actually like my controller I've been using it every day I've been playing but you know if the majority is saying it's bad then evidently I'm just one of the lucky ones it looks like.
