Is the 4L less in this pack over the TP3S even noticeable? Given this one is 2cm shorter and 2cm narrower, I’m just curious if that little of a difference actually impacts the capacity of the bag, or if they both fit just as much and the 2cm extra on the TP3S is just used up by the added handles/buckled.
I have been looking for the perfect everyday bag, and currently have the Aer Travel Pack 2. I was literally thinking to myself recently, "man if Aer would just make the City Pack a bit bigger" and they read my mind! Lol love it. Probably gonna buy when I can justify the purchase
This reminds me of my Goruck GR2 but without the militaristic aesthetic. Thinking of getting it in gray since I wanted a more neutral color and style option. It definitely could have made use of compression straps though.
As for the City Pack Pro, any chance does a Yeti 26oz rambler fit in the water bottle holder? Lastly, given the choice between the X-Pac and the ballistic Nylon material, which would you choose and why?
I prefer salt-impregnated carbon-kevlar, it's the strongest material, has been used successfully in combat-proven ballistic vests. Wisdom saya you have to take this info with a grain of salt. ... "Always listen carefully to what wisdom says." - Sun Tzu's former private cook
This is more of an update to the Lunar Pack collaboration Aer had with Ministry of Supply. It uses the same main body with good updates to the fabric and the addition of some front and side pockets. They also changed the water bottle pocket from a fully-zippered/enclosed design to an exposed one. Only criticism would be the location of that side D ring right above the water bottle pocket. It should’ve been on the opposite side (esp since they got rid of the side handle) b/c as is, if you lash anything to it, it’ll either interfere with getting your water bottle or it’ll be just a little unhygienic if you have an open-lipped bottle.
Thank you for your videos!! I've been watching your videos for a few months and will be getting the Aer City Pack Pro for Christmas!! :) I'm so excited I can't wait.
I just returned a travel 3 small and am getting this one instead. The problem with the Travel is that even the small is too big to use when not traveling. The city seems like it will work for a large EDC or a small travel bag.
@@MrMLKdid you end up holding onto the CPP? I returned my TP3S too, just too heavy when empty for me, and way too heavy when loaded. Wondering how you like this one. I'm only concerned it's too deep and will sag backwards as demonstrated in this video.
If you're testing the Nooz, you might want to test carrying them in their case in a front pants pocket. That's how I carried mine but it ended up rubbing on the lenses and scuffing them. This would be good to mention given their portability. I ended up switching to a soft reading glasses sleeve and continue to be happy with my pair (minus scratched lenses)
@@PackHacker2 Nice review! I used your affiliate link and ordered the City Pack Pro last week and the bag arrived yesterday. There's nothing more I could ask for and I'll be holding on to this bag for a really long time. Keep up the good work.
@@Shin_Igami666hows the bag after 9 months? I'm contemplating it but I'm afraid of the depth being too deep and the bag "sagging" backwards as shown in the video.
It couldve been perfect for me if the 2nd compartment has better opening and organization like its non pro sibling. And yes i know that the travel pack 3 small looks like that but i hated the elevated water bottle style, too much straps and still larger than this. This is a better design atleast for me, with that crazy organization style of the tp3s/cp regular
Will be interesting when they bring out day pack pro version, assuming they will. Have already a travel pack3 small, maybe waist money getting the city pack pro.
@@v4714v yea, the only reason why i didnt get the tp3s was that it was stupidly heavy. 3.5lb for 28L is just bad. This iteration is way better for traveling. The tp3s is over-engineered to the point where it’s actually not that great of a travel bag anymore. The extra features they add literally help create the problem they’re trying to solve.

I have a good question if somebody who has experience with Aer bags could answer it for me. I've really been looking into these bags and I'm loving their versatility and modern aesthetic, however the only thing drawing my attention in a negative way is that it seems their laptop sleeves are geared toward thinner macbook-like styles. As someone with a thicker laptop (Lenovo Legion 7, not terribly thick), will anything thicker fit? At least to me, the sleeves look super tight even without anything in them. Thank you in advance :)
I have a legion 7i gen 7. And I have a Day Pack 2 X-Pac and a City Pack Pro X-Pac. My laptop fits in both backpacks, but the Day Pack barely fits in (like the zipper can scratch the laptop's edge if the laptop is not fully sitted). My City pack has a deeper but not wider laptop sleeve compare to the Day pack (though, it is still a tight fit for my laptop). Hope this helps!
Honestly I feel like this pack is just a travel pack 3 small that was released in response to the feedback that the tp3s was waaaaay too heavy. Obviously they don’t want to release another travel pack series only one year after their series release so they took something from another line and made it into this instead.
Comparing it to the Bellroy Transit Backpack, which do you prefer? Don’t know if those 4L of capacity actually make a big difference or not. Can you fit a Peak Design Medium Pouch and a Small one in this one too? Or are they too big for the City Pro?
I have a Bellroy Transit bag and a little over a year after having it I'm really disappointed in the build quality. The zipper tags are all ripping off and it's irksome having to replace them all.
Why is it that the City Pack when worn and you look the wearer in side view it looks like it is not upright that the top portion is leaning backwards. I dont that it looks like it is not upright and is leaning away from the wrarer. 😮
Really does seem like a worse version of the Travel Pack 3 Small. Both expensive and bulky, but this lacks load lifters, side handles, compression straps, detachable optional hip belt, full admin panel, etc. I suppose they target the people who think that the TP3 Small is too bulky, but this one still is. You just lose a lot of the features. Sure get the "worst-of-both worlds" impression here.
Yeah if it was a little bit cheaper than it would make more sense. This pack is 1 lb lighter than the TP3S, so that might be a pull for smaller sized individuals.
Tom can you tell us the internal main compartment measurements vs the travel pack 3 small ??
please do a comparison between the normal city pack and this one

What are the differences between and Pro and NonPro bag. That’s what I really want to hear to make a determination on what to buy.
Just a better front facing camera and no headphone jack.
Pro also has fast wireless charging cause they removed the charging jack
Pro has a finger print sensor. The regular has none.
