Worst thing about AER bags, feel near indestructible. So when they bring out new bags you want and you're desperate to find a fault/hole in your old bag, there are none.
Ha no kidding. I'm still using the day pack from when it first launched years ago. Only reason i'm considering it now is because of the black Friday promo
Looks very similar to the Aer "Travel Pack 3 Small." The TP3s being 4L larger but functionally they look more similar than not. Seems the City Pack is a more polished exterior look which I like, and a lighter weight pack. Wonder what a head to head comparison would be like and discussion of use cases?
This is probably the one time I've been happy that the review was in video form and not text + pictures form. The part where you basically twist and fold the bag to show the structure of it is great. Gives an idea of how the bag is going to feel and act with different levels of load.
Excellent review. Fact about EDC Everyday Carry - you can be too fussy. I have an epic cable organizer that is a nightmare because it requires me to be “too fussy” and neatly pack every little cord and gizmo, taking extra 20 mins. The result? I slam things in the main compartment and rarely actually organize it . Too fussy - great point in the review! Love the use of food beef stick hydration, headphones, you went through real world use cases, not vague hypothetical. Useful and entertaining follow this guy.
I love that you’ve moved back towards this style of review videos that are more in-depth and detailed. I know they take more work for you, but we really appreciate them!
This one's a great option over their Tech Pack 2. One issue with the AER Tech Pack 2 is the tight entry to the main compartment. If you have a big tech pouch it will be a tight squeeze. This one you can open the main compartment like a clamshell. Great thing they're even making small incremental upgrades to their products all throughout their models, even on their older ones. Like for example the key leash on my Tech Pack 2 has a cheap-ass plastic clip. They've now replaced it with a small carabiner-type clip.
man I wish they had released this alongside the non-pro 14L version. I can't bring myself to ALSO buy this one, but would prefer this size a bit over the 14L. It's just a little too cramped...
I plan on getting a city pack pro 2 myself and am confused as to the difference between X-PAC and ballistic nylon. Can you help by elaborating on that?
AER first started using this iteration of liner when they put out the collab with Ministry of Supply in their Lunar pack. So, it's possible MoS helped with the creating it.
I’m a 5’2” female, small frame. Looking for a good work bag, professional looking but to carry EDC, plus an iPad and A5 Filofax. I like this but is it going to look massive on me. Ps. Need to fit lunch in too, salad box and fruit
Chase, I love the review on the Aer City Pack Pro. I had an odd favor to ask of you. I know you are an Owala water bottle fan. However, would you know if a Yeti 26oz rambler fit in this water bottle holder? Lastly, if you were paying for this bag… Would you choose the Xpac or the ballistic and why? I live in Texas, as you well know there’s very little rainfall here in San Antonio. By the way, I love the orange in the Xpac.. lol
I am ordering this bag for black Friday as well. However, why the Xpac? I am stuck between the two. Just want to get your thought process. Have you owned both materials in the past?
@@d.stryker09 I love the look of x-pac. It also has extra YKK aquaguard zippers, the orange interior, and a nice little reflective detail on the zipper pulls. The pack feels and looks a bit elevated over the 1680D imo. The extra water resistance is a nice bonus too. I also own the city sling 2 in x-pac so that gave me an idea of what to expect. I have owned slings in both 1680D black and the 700D grey. You really can’t go wrong with any of them. My second choice would be the olive colour, it looks fantastic as well.
Thanks Chase - Excellent Review - Any Advice on choosing between the regular fabric and Aer's X-Pac. I would not mind the lower weight (but not that much) and struggling to understand the "Feel" -- I am a big canvas guy (like the Filson Tin-Cloth)
Nice video! Is it posible to use it as a personal ítem/small bag for EU airlines(40*30*20)? I think it exceeds the larger not sure how squeezable the bag is
I'm doing more biking around town and want a comfy backpack to wear while biking. Would the Aer City Pro fit the bill? I've got an older 30something liter roll-top Thule and it hits my neck weird biking but if I loosen it up a little bit it sits too low and uncomfy on my back. Any other good biking backpack recs?
Have the pack in Olive, love it. Have been down with Aer since I got the Day Pack 2 a few years ago- still looks new. Wanted something bigger and viola, the City Pack Pro. I'm an edc guy, but I agree about being too fussy. He'll, sometimes I only wash half my face because you need a little funk, know what I mean? 🤪 You're my sack sherpa Chase, great vid! Happy holidays. 🦃🍽
Sorry for the late reply but i cant find it anywhere, i need a backpack to travel with 2 notebooks, personal and work, my work notebook is a 15" lenovo and my personal one is a 13" macbook air, would both fit like in the notebook pocket?
Just when I was thinking about replacing my EDC bag, this review pops in my feed. Thanks for another great review, Chase. And we even got blessed with some business papers 😂
Does anyone have experience with the City Pack Pro as a personal Item on BA Flights? I know the dimensions are bigger than BA's guidelines, but curious if I under pack a little if it'll work...
It’s just not a “Pro” anything, and not a great larger version of the smaller. CP. It’s front-top heavy, and literally NO ONE will find a giant clamshell on a tech bag useful. How do you easily access a luggage-type clamshell all day long as needed? You try an access it like a horseshoe pocket. Except it’s not. It’s just a recipe for disaster.
Worst thing about AER bags, feel near indestructible. So when they bring out new bags you want and you're desperate to find a fault/hole in your old bag, there are none.
Tell me about it. I already have 2. Trying to dissuade myself from getting this 😂
Ha no kidding. I'm still using the day pack from when it first launched years ago. Only reason i'm considering it now is because of the black Friday promo
Worst thing for me is that its not available in my country. They suck at distributing.
True. The last of the zipper pull thingies on my Tech Sling just gave out. Well, time to get a new of the same bag 😂
@@picanha694 your country needs better domestic innovation.

This is my fav bag on the planet. Use it for work as well as short trips. Its looks small, but its great for a 2 day trip as well.
The Aer TP3 should have used the water bottle pocket design from the City Pack Pro since it looks like holds larger bottles better.
Thank you, you are on a whole other level, not only when it comes to reviews but also basic life lessons.
New studio space really looking awesome, chase
Thanks Justin
Try to fill in packing cubes for clothing and so on, not just EDC items. How does this fare for 1 bag travel. Im still warm on their Aer Duo Pack.
Chase, I love Aer packs too! FYI, I prefer the cleaned up look on you over this look. Thanks for another brilliant review!
hey chase please show us how you organize your bags, backpacks and stuff
Been hoping you would review this! Looks like an awesome lil work backpack

Finally found a replacement to my OnePlus travel backpack that I've been using since 2017.
Good review! I gave the City Pack 2 to my son because it was too small. I got the Pro X-PAC version and love it.
I plan on getting a city pack pro 2 myself and am confused as to the difference between X-PAC and ballistic nylon. Can you help by elaborating on that?
Any updates duck?
I am just here for the descriptions. Fricking crack me up.

Seems like it could even be a one bag travel backpack!
That’s what I’m using it for on Frontier.

excellently helpful vid as usual....but...what about the business papers, man?
i get you about the being too fussy. you the man Chase
Nice bag. I love the Aer aesthetic for everyday carry. However, I still prefer my Evergoods PLC 20L.
i have the Aer Day Pack 2 and love it! Aer makes some good products
Thanks Chase! Messy = clean is my new mantra. Ordering this in x-pac on Black Friday 🎉

Anyone know how this bag compares to the aer travel pack 3?
backpacks makes me happy and i think at backpacks i think at adventure and travel or vacantion
can the peak design tech pouch fit in the top compartment of the Aer City Pack Pro?
This, Travel Pack 3 from Aer or the Black Ember Shadow? Also Considering the rennen Daypack?
Is this the reincarnation of Relic from The Beachcombers reviewing bags?

I think a lot of people will buy this while they would be better served by Flight Pack 3 for EDC and work bag.
what are the advantages of the flight pack 3 over the city pack pro?
Sweet bag and review man!!! Not too fussy!
Bro I love this guy and this bag looks fire!
This was a great review, really glad I watched the whole thing
was transported back to Europe for a hot minute there

You end up finding anything decent? In the hunt for the same thing right now
can you review the aer slim??

Chase, what hat are you wearing?
jesus , I came for a backpack review and left with a life lesson...
Waiting for Addax 31/26 review
Ryanair personal item, can you sqieeze it by 1.6in (4cm) to fit sizer 16.5in (42cm) or it has rigid back and is not possible?
Did you figure it out?
Does a 15.6 laptop fit in the bag?
I loved the European impression 😂
Does thing stand on its own?
Nice guess! Lol it’s a 24L😮
Yep I agree, you can be to fussy 😂
What a great fucking review Chase. i feel like ive owned the bag before just watching cover every question i have.
I know what you mean. No fuss!
I’m just here to holler in the comments because I know what you mean
It’s got the juice 🎉
That front pocket being overfilled looks absolutely terrible
Dope youtube plague! FLEX!!
Jeez this guy sounds just like Woody Harrelson!
Dude do you have any idea how crazy it is that I casually watch backpack reviews as I run a successful business. Thank you.
Dude nice video but for real I had to put you on 1.75x… just get to the point brother 😅
Woo first comment! So is "pro" the next evolution of bags? Cool - watching as I type.
Like, 10:40 🫣

Exactly my thoughts! You seem like you know your stuff, Do u have any suggestions for a sub 25L bag? Mainly edc plus would love good organization
Looks like a fucking Targus bag from Best Buy
obsession with water bottle pockets continue...ffs
Yeah, the juice 🧃 is gone!
