Man. This makes me all sorts of happy. Great to see a new Italian player, a beautiful army on a beautiful table, and a hard fought game. We know it was an Italian victory, but that was assumed from the moment you chose to bring out the Italians! Avanti!
My first army is Italian and my second is Australian so very happy to watch this. i think in some cases you forgot that the semovente 75/18 he shot is +2 pen and the medium howitzer is +3 pen.
As an Australian I do enjoy an 8th Army battle in the desert. I had family there, my wife's grandfather. I did laugh at the names you picked for the Aussies, next time go for names like Smith or Jones and definitely a Brookes. Lest we forget.
Fantastic game guys, beautiful minis and terrain as always. a really tight game with some interesting tactical decisions. I lived in Italy for 9 years so always nice to see them represented
Out of all Wargaming.. I find Bolt Action the most fun to watch. It's super simple and moves along at a good pace. Rules lite means you don't really need to understand the specifics of armies like when you watch Warhammer.
Good game! Historically, Italian soldiers fought well under German leaders, so, perhaps unintentionally, you did something historical with the German leader.
im a bit confused with the Italians since the new book arrived. do they have the Army Special Rules from the book Armies of Italy and the Axis, or their new special rules from the new book?
I was confused about that too. I used the rules from the book for this one. Some say to use the desert book rules when using missions from that book but I don’t see why you couldn’t use them when you feel like you want to try something different.
I’m with you, Travis. Especially in a friendly themed game I think you’ll be totally fine using the Western Desert rules. That’s what I did in my last game.
Tournament sticklers will make you take the western desert selectors if you want to play wester deset (italian) rules. The western desert selectors are weird- bersaglieri are all mounted on motorbikes but but the AS 42 platoon selector is ok. Everyone needs transport capability though. I had to take alot of trucks using a western desert selector at a tourney.
Just out of interest, when you guys go to tournements in US what are the rules ? Is there a limitation to order dice or how many reinforced platoon you can take? We are thinking of planning a tournement in Germany and we are not sure what rules would be good to use.
Hi @Tabletop CP. My friends and I recently got into BA. I love everything about your videos, except for one thing. The sound effects you add when the units shoot. They are mixed WAY to high. I find it difficult to watch the videos at a volume where the commentary is audible and clear but the sound effects are not loud and jarring. I often put UA-cam videos on before I go to sleep. This audio issue makes them unwatchable in this scenario.
I skimmed through the video and dude come on… at 48:50 or so, you claim he has no cover?! He’s in the building, it doesn’t matter of you can see him through the door or not! That’s why I stopped watching your videos. It seems you give yourself an advantage with rules or shooting every video I watch.

Italian victory. Yeah we will go with that! 😄
I just watched the Italian army reveal video, so hopped over to this one to see them in action. thanks for another fun fight & learn session.
As an Italian player its always good to see a battle report with them.
It’s not really over until you count the final victory conditions! Nice desert table. One of these days I’ll be free Friday night to watch live again.

Very nice game. Thanks for the battrep. Love the editing top.
Good game Gents! thanks for sharing Travis and Andre!
Fantastic battle report . The Australiens could have deployed their first wave forward observers/snipers on the battlefield already.

Cheers Richard. 🍻
Another great report!!
Love to see Italians! At 17:40, the semovente is a 75mm gun tank, it gets a 2" ring for HE
Oh? Is that special rule like the Sherman gets?
Love your vids!

@@seamus5253 there are a lot of them! Did you use all of them or just a few?

Usually here where I live we play one reinforced generic platoon limit. No selectors. Try to keep it around 14 dice.
@@tabletopcp In UK normally 16 dice and depending upon the tournament the 1st round try and match with historical opponents
Wait till u play the Italians for Chain of Command
Mamma mia😍
😄 couldn’t resist
Top👍🏻

No prob. I can lower them in future vids. Thanks for the feedback.
Italians win even though Bolt Action rules set is against them
