I haven't played since....God knows how long. My main is arcane mage and catching up has been difficult. Ty for explaing the new stuff (to me anyways) clearly!
I kinda wished splinterstorm would be an active ability...in a sense that you could just detonate the mobs. Also the barrier is a bit overrated - in m+, you generally cast barrier before big inc damage, this rather promotes to use it reactively than proactively which is wrong in my opinion. But sure, in scenarios where there is a pulsing damage, shield like that would be so cool, especially if it's on mass barrier too

Hi, regarding the splinters contributing to Radiant spark. I dont think the splinters will count towards Radiant spark stacks. Augury Abounds is the talent that seems to point towards the aforementioned point. "Arcane surge conjured 8 splinters" Surge would consume all Radiant spark stacks then. Or like you said, we cant play Radiant spark with Spellslinger.
How do we know we won't SP within surge? Doesn't that depend on tuning? If splinter, splinterstorm and arcane echo is tuned well it might be worth?
Hm its sounds like more passiv Damage...so not bad i think.
I think more abilities will be cool but....mage has enough spells... for example as Arcan you dont use frostbolt (for example)
With trinket and flasks i got 5 bars full of items and spells xDD
