But when I step back after an episode (a relapse, a binge,...) I can see the bigger picture of my life and appreciate what has come out of it. My relationships today, my passions, my own art, are an amalgamation of all my experiences. When I'm in the thick of a bad episode, I do have affirmations and promises I tell myself to hang on longer. "This is a bad day and it will pass," "I am loved and worth it," "Everything is going to be okay, I'm safe." God this is such an incredible song. I don't want to speculate about Tyler's own life experiences and theorize about him, but this track is a standout to me and hits so close to my battle with suicidality and giving up.

42 yrs old loving everything Tyler and Josh put out. Our 18 yr old boy got all 4 of us pit tickets for Seattles concert. And yes we will be in line 12 hrs early to get upfront. Scaled and icy at climate pledge our boy had tears of joy. If you can make your kid she'd tears from happiness your doing alright as a parent.
tyler confirmed vignette is a song about addiction, "when taking substances, lucidity, clarity and purpose are gradually obscured like a vignette" the person in the song is an addict in denial, he started using again and trying to cling to the promise to stop using- desperately and helplessly fighting the drug's effects, fighting the vignette. but he ends up crumbling, his vision fading as the substance takes over his body. His consciousness swallowed by the vignette. Very sad song and if you read all the lyrics they are all related to addiction.
And the paper and him moving the snow suggest cocaine. It's really a very beatiful, poetic and deep song. The vultures/zombies in the flesh... ow, this is so real...

This album will always hold a special place in my heart. The day the album dropped and they released the music videos, my girlfriend and I stayed up late watching the videos. The next morning I found my beautiful dog Ruby had passed away in the night. I had said my goodbyes to her and buried her with her favorite toys in the woods at a friends property that she loved to go to. This album is what helped me deal with her death and Im always brought to tears when I hear this song and oldies station.

As a person who was an addict for a couple years I can deeply identify with this song. I’ve been clean for 4 years but sometimes I look back in time and remember what I was feeling back then. My hands used to shake all the time, I couldn’t sleep and it was really hard to accept that I was actually an addict. It was a really messed up experience but today I see it as a prove of how strong I can be, because I got clean all by myself and the courage and willpower that it takes is really difficult to get 😪
Honestly that’s what I’ve loved about these videos. Yeah we got some serious lore ones. But then we got shit like this and Lavish where it’s so obvious they were just having fun making something stupid and silly. I love it so much. It fits their music so well.
I know this song isn't about sexual abuse, at least Tyler said it wasn't on the Livestream. However, I am a survivor of abuse, and this hit me very hard. That's how I used to feel before I could slowly start my healing process: like a zombie, afraid of being touched, isolating myself from my friends... Yes but at the same time there's something I cannot put into words, a vibe that connects them all so it doesn't feel out of place. That's what bothered me with SAI. Like don't get me wrong, it was a great album and nice to see them experimenting a different style, but I'm glad it was declared as part of the lore and they were forced to do this for DEMA. And now we're back to the classic tøp vibes

It's been two weeks since the album dropped and not a day has gone by without me listening to it.
I spent the afternoon tramatizing A.I. and I immediately knew i needed to shake this absolute banger-

This album will always hold a special place in my heart. The day the album dropped and they released the music videos, my girlfriend and I stayed up late watching the videos. The next morning I found my beautiful dog Ruby had passed away in the night. I had said my goodbyes to her and buried her with her favorite toys in the woods at a friends property that she loved to go to. This album is what helped me deal with her death and Im always brought to tears when I hear this song and oldies station.

As a person who was an addict for a couple years I can deeply identify with this song. I’ve been clean for 4 years but sometimes I look back in time and remember what I was feeling back then. My hands used to shake all the time, I couldn’t sleep and it was really hard to accept that I was actually an addict. It was a really messed up experience but today I see it as a prove of how strong I can be, because I got clean all by myself and the courage and willpower that it takes is really difficult to get 😪

I know this song isn't about sexual abuse, at least Tyler said it wasn't on the Livestream. However, I am a survivor of abuse, and this hit me very hard. That's how I used to feel before I could slowly start my healing process: like a zombie, afraid of being touched, isolating myself from my friends... All while promising myself that one day I wouldn't feel this way.
Tyler saying this song is about addiction after I’ve been using it to power through my rehab for the last week actually almost made me cry
Edits: I originally thought it was about panic attacks, that’s why I missed the obvious addiction references. Also I’m going through withdrawals, it’s not like I’m a media literacy genius right now🥴 p.s. yes I did enjoy the leaks. No you won’t make me feel bad about it. I’ve been going to their live shows and supporting them for 10 years. I was at a point in my life when I needed something familiar, and the leak was there. Have a nice day💕

This comment other than declaring 21 Pilots are the biggest talent to hit the planet since the beetles escaped Liverpool is to mention how clever Vignette the word is to be used, Fighting off the vignette, Swallowed by the vignette. I had to google what the word meant, (a small illustration or portrait photograph which fades into its background without a definite border) love it, like a new way to say I am faded, I am fading into the background, _ so I'll no longer be faded, I'll be Vignette - thank You Tyler and Josh for the constant stream of new and amazing music.
