“Don’t know how I feel man, ‘Bout you sleeping so close to a weapon you conceal man.” lowkey parallels with “I’m trying to sleep, but I cant, but I can’t when you all have guns for hands.”
I always interpreted the Guns for Hands as for people fighting, as in a home parents always arguing or something like that, domestic violence if u will. As to reference how are actions hurt
This song is so straight forward and blunt lyrically but the topic of checking in on the people around you is so important. People will always mask their face but even just saying one thing to a person could be the reason they're alive tomorrow.
i think the song is straightforward lyrically to emphasize the importance of its message. He's not making a suggestion, he's asking you to check in, because the friends who need you to won't be asking.
I like how at 2:15 when he says “nothing you can do this time” it shows all the places where Tyler has “hit” the ground, feeling like a whiplash to reality.
Good eye, it's like he's demonstrating that both the person saying "don't bother checking on me, you can't do anything this time", and the person who maybe hesitates to check on someone cause they think they can't do anything about it, are taking for granted how many times they can get away with saying that before it becomes true. Lots of opportunities to intervene or decide not to jump, and yet they choose to jump/not help, and you almost acclimate to the idea of them managing to survive each time and stop worrying about it
Considering the message of the song, it is genuinely terrifying when they hit the skyscraper rooftop. I always get goosebumps, and that's the point. All the other clips feel like toying around with the idea of jumping off a roof and hitting the ground, but then you get that hard cut to the skyscraper roof and realize... oh shit, this is real. You jump off that and you're gone. No more laying in a farm field and continuing to sing. I also love how in that specific part they don't show someone "laying on the ground" because there wouldn't be much left. I've been a fan since Vessel and I truly, truly hope that as many people struggling with depression find this album as possible, because Tyler clearly decided to ditch the "metaphors" and dive straight into the "hey friends, PLEASE survive" in this album. This will likely be a very, VERY important album when it comes to mental health
Yea, the main story of this song is to "check in" on your friend when they are feeling suicidal, that's why in the song Tyler says, "Don't know how I feel about you sleeping so close to a weapon you conceal, man."
@@crawnation I'm glad it's helping you! It's such an important album. A long time ago Taxi Cab walked me back from the edge, and they just never stop making music that can find so many different people. I sincerely hope it gets better for you. 1:50 I don't know if this really means something, but nobody has pointed this out yet, so here I go. Tyler is singing/rapping upwards, to where we know Josh is located. He is "talking" to Josh with the words "If I'm being real, man, don't know how I feel, man, about you sleeping so close to a weapon you conceal, man. Those night terrors are not something to take lightly. I know that it's a risk saying this, don't fight me!" We all know that Tyler has problems, but we don't know that much about Josh in that aspect, just that he struggles with anxiety. But, and I'm speaking from experience, those kinds of friendships are often mutual. You help each other out, check on each other. Many people seem to think that Josh is care-free or something and is just helping Tyler out, but that is because Tyler is telling his story, not Joshs, which is completely fine and natural, but we can't just assume that Josh doesn't have a story to tell. He's just shy and private and not a songwriter, he's the drummer, an instrument which he picked up with the purpose of hiding behind it and not being in the spotlight. Anyway, maybe I'm just overanalysing and this shot means something completely different, but it's definately something to think about.
Completely agree! It is also probable that josh has input on aspects of the music videos, song writing, and other creative aspects, even if he doesnt want to be featured as prominently. Everyone has a struggle of some kind, even if they dont think its important enough to make center stage. Without josh there is no 21 pilots, they are a team, not a solo act.

This is gonna end up being one of the underrated songs on the album. It deserves to be at the beginning of the track list, it's hands down one of the best on Clancy.

I like the way they tied in the symbolism of the buildings. Small town buildings at the start with a sudden spike to big city skyscrapers all while blurryface's sharpie persists even if it is faded. All the while relaying a raw, beautiful song that has accessible symbolism.
I’m fantastic now that Clancy is ours and that we’re on a new TOP era, so much to look forward to. The boys have made this year such a happy one for me.
I love it cause "Stopping me. Fight me" can also mean his friend talking about he doesn't need to stop him from dying, and he's saying "Fight me" about it
I like the metaphor when Tyler starts at a low height at the beginning of the clip and throughout the song climbs higher and higher, ultimately standing on a skyscraper, showing how his mental problems grow and possibly some suicidal thoughts. "Check on your friends every once in a while, even if they say, 'I don't want anyone to know me or see me at my lowest.'
As someone who has made music it probably wasn’t even all having to do with Paul meany. Even when I made music I would always make multiple versions of songs because they could always go into different directions at basically every point whether it’s a tempo change or key change or just some instrumental changes, vocals. The possibilities are endless. Basically kinda like when Tyler said “my creativity is only free when I’m playing shows” when it’s live he can change it to what ever
I've seen this band grow up and I think this is best music yet ..it's true to be yourselves always .you guys have great style . Sounds to keep me moving and loving music ,thank you guys
I see this music video as a metaphor in itself. We’re all joking about Josh drumming in random places but I think it means something, like no matter where you are, and what’s happening, check in on that friend. Even if they’re at their highest(the building) amount of happiness, and you feel dumb for it, you at least know they’re okay. That’s just my interpretation.

In the videos, Josh does not use conspicuous tricks to silence the drum set during filming. He places two cymbals, one on top of the other and loosens the hoops completely. Wow, brilliant idea.
Even though a lot of his songs are about his fight over depression and anxiety, they never ever get old. They dont feel *dark*, hell they cheer me up lol
Musically the part that kicks in right after that transition sounds so huge… like getting hit in the face with a big punch of the lower register pipes from a pipe organ.

I remember becoming a fan when I was your age during blurryface. They completely changed my life even though I was so young. Keep them in your heart forever!!
I genuinely believe the heart of Twenty One Pilots' success is Josh's ability to bring such emotion out of his drums. Both of these artists uplift each other in their work and it always turns out amazing.
I did easily when I saw their recent ticket prices. Never dropped a greedy ass band so hard in my life! They chose flex pricing, they chose to play for rich people only. So much for sticking up for the little guy!
Me and my bestie we spent a long time without talking to each other after a fight. Every time I thought about her, I listened to the song, so I checked in at the risk of feeling dumb. And I didn't lose her. Thanks guys
i love how in the video they are taking bigger and bigger risks by going higher and higher and need someone to stop them before they 'drop' - matches the message of the song to check in with your friends in case they are struglling and thinking about hurting themselves. i find it easy to relate to this as a message to check in on my friends but i also have to try to remember to be honest when other people check in on me and not to be afriad to share my 'lowest' moments with them so they can help me.
I feel this song, I don’t have too many friends who have stuck by my side and made sure I was alright, so I try to be that friend because I know how it feels to be alone with your thoughts
I watched this with my son. We love your music. This music helps not only helps me and my son have something we can do together. It also makes me relaxed. Also love that you do not use profanity. Good to see a band with real talent.

I can't wait for the concert it will be so cool and I think everyone here has gone through some rough stuff and or is going through it right now but look at how everyone is doing they are still here and trying their hardest
Josh out here risking his life balancing on hay bales,a bridge and on the top of a building for us
This is honestly my fav music video
MAN I LOVE THIS BAND SO MUCH
Listening to this record instantly rewards you with ➕13HP❤
i love this
Two friends, having fun, and making wholesome art. So beautiful. Don't stop please.
This song is so powerful but so light at the same time. Like absolutely critical and what we needed but groovy and beautiful and light.
Most of their songs I agree. But Trees makes me feel like dying 😢
2:33 is literally an insane switch !
Musically the part that kicks in right after that transition sounds so huge… like getting hit in the face with a big punch of the lower register pipes from a pipe organ.
0:25 NOT THE CYMBALS FALLING 😢😢
The Zildjian K's 😢
The dropped😂
FRR
I'm definitely feeling this song all to hard, always me checking up on people but never people checking up on me.. they all just disappear and as if I don't exist no more.. gotta say, Clancy dropped at the perfect time for me and I'm loving it.. amazing work Ty and Josh..
Honestly same for me, and they dropped it at a perfect time when I started realising no one was checking up on me. So how are you?
@@antares5165 I'm 2 months late but I'm hanging on as usual.. a bit perplexed in life and I'm just binging from Vessel all the way up to Clancy and man, it helped a lot.. what about you?
Honestly I’ve been going through a rough patch so this song quickly became my favorite I swear I love Twenty One Pilots 🩵
Hoping that things turn around for you soon. Don't go off and do anything silly now, ya hear?
I love them too. Hope your feeling better!😁❤️👍
Even tho I had been trying to cease my existence for like 10yrs, I’m here, and for the first time I’m glad I’m still here
Marcela, que bom que você está aqui :)
@@davimag2071 I'm glad you're here too :) we get to witness this banger
This was my first feeling when I listened to this album. I'm glad we are all here for this, stay alive fren ||-//
I always feel for people struggling with this kind of stuff, and although I personally don’t, I am always happy to see comments like this, and know that at least one more person is still here.🙂
Same. Keep living friends
Album. Of. The. Fucking. Year
I agree with you ( from Italy)
Your PFP makes sense.
@@Kandi1_XD right?? I'm TOTALLY not biased at all hahaha

2015 - STESSED OUT
2024 - At the risk of feeling dumb
And the sound of organ
YESSSS MY 11TH FAVORITE SONG STESSED OUT
*yes, stessed out.*
I was about to comment too, glad everyone noticed
*stessed out*
the instrumentals in this song >>>>>
Guys, I really can't describe my love for Twenty One Pilots... I love them, very much!
Oh, I remember my dad playing the "Car Radio" song in the car, and I was only 4 years old at the time. I liked this song and I asked my dad to play it many times.
I'm 11 right now, I won't even hide it, and "Car Radio" is my favorite song. I'm sorry that I started listening to Pilots only 4 months ago... I'm joining the whole story only at the end.
I love you, Twenty One Pilots, thank you for the wonderful music! Thanks! |-/
I remember becoming a fan when I was your age during blurryface. They completely changed my life even though I was so young. Keep them in your heart forever!!
Sending hugs to all the dudes out there silently fighting their own battles. Keep winning champs ❤
Something about this feels so nostalgic
Also reading the lyrics made this song way more emotional for me omg
I genuinely believe the heart of Twenty One Pilots' success is Josh's ability to bring such emotion out of his drums. Both of these artists uplift each other in their work and it always turns out amazing.
Truth! Josh plays such an integral role in this dynamic and success of course
My favorite song from the album 100 percent 🫶♥️🧡
My favorite song on the album. PLEASE PLAY THIS LIVE ON THE CLANCY TOUR!!!!
I want them to play the whole dang album on tour
@@banditobella I absolutely agree. I told my daughter the same thing earlier this week!
No way this song isn't the most viewed in the album, it's too good ❤️
Every album is better than the last. You guys really are the band that never peaks!!!
Apart from SAI from Trench lmao
@@SamFarley098 Yeah imo SAI was not better than Trench, but I don't think that's SAI's fault, I loved it as well.
Favorite song from Clancy
the way that he fakes a punch (like the drop is right now) at 2:00 then take a step back makes me realizing how hard tyler conduct us in his musics
honestly never getting over this band
I did easily when I saw their recent ticket prices. Never dropped a greedy ass band so hard in my life! They chose flex pricing, they chose to play for rich people only. So much for sticking up for the little guy!
Me and my bestie we spent a long time without talking to each other after a fight. Every time I thought about her, I listened to the song, so I checked in at the risk of feeling dumb. And I didn't lose her. Thanks guys
great job man!!
God! This is a master piece.
i love how in the video they are taking bigger and bigger risks by going higher and higher and need someone to stop them before they 'drop' - matches the message of the song to check in with your friends in case they are struglling and thinking about hurting themselves.
i find it easy to relate to this as a message to check in on my friends but i also have to try to remember to be honest when other people check in on me and not to be afriad to share my 'lowest' moments with them so they can help me.
I feel this song, I don’t have too many friends who have stuck by my side and made sure I was alright, so I try to be that friend because I know how it feels to be alone with your thoughts
We're the same man, virtual hugs for you🫂
this and vignette are the highlights of the album
my two fav Clancy songs (and also Overcompensate)
Play this one and snap back on tour!!
One of my favorites off the album. Has a mid 2010’s sound in the production that is absolutely perfect.
This song is so good, the lyrics go as hard as the beat. I'm addicted. This freaking album is absolutely perfect.
God I love this song soooo much 🥰
"Nothing you can do this time," hits really deep.
Tyler gives off Chester Bennington vibes in this and idk how I feel about it but I love them both
At the risk of feeling Numb
Chester was a huge tøp fan. It's such a shame he didn't get to see what came after Blurryface...
This record is just a pure vibe! Np band has ever been remotely similar to these guys! And tyler is the most underrated artist imo, guy is a genius
Sii debería ser mucho más reconocido aunque pienso que con este nuevo álbum quizás se hable más de ellos
The message, the music, the video. This is one of the best songs from the album, no doubts
OMGG I JUST WOKE UP AND ALL THESE VIDEOS WERE RELEASED
💥💥💥💥💥💥
The whole Day Party🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“It not worth the risk of losing a friend” 😢❤
I watched this with my son. We love your music. This music helps not only helps me and my son have something we can do together. It also makes me relaxed. Also love that you do not use profanity. Good to see a band with real talent.
This is literally the sequel song to Friend Please😭❤️
They are so creative when it comes to where Josh’s drums go 😂
HIS VOICE IS SO ANGELIC
Fav song on album
Idk about anyone else but this is definitely my favorite in the Clancy album. Navigating a close second.
The scream at 2:46, damn that goes deep
The transition.......... omg 🤌
Favorite song on the album. I think Clancy is slowly passing Trench as my top TOP album. I'm happy this day has come.
