7:20, when i bought my CBR600F1 i also changed the battery right away and found a couple of washers and a M6 nut where the battery is. When i took the farings off i found a god damn 10mm socket laying ON the engine block leaning on cylinder 2. The socket was laying loose and i just picked it off the block, it wasn't my socket and i had even ridden around 20km with the socket on the block. You find weird things inside vehicles sometimes.

The phone mount holder came with the bike looks better that the quad and if you don’t use it just remove the top park and the bike looks way cleaner. Hate the quad cos you have to use their phone case to go with the mount
Most batteries are like that, annoying but if someone cross threaded a terminal, that's likely a new battery, cross thread one of those blocks, that is much cheaper to fix.

Final mod in this series should be circling back and swapping that questionable BMW key tag for a Jizz Machine one from the gents at BVG/44Teeth … surely.
My Blackbird had those (or similar) blue led bulbs that do nothing but cast a slight blue hue on the road in front of the bike. I rode it 3 hours in the dark like that to get it home. That was mod #1 for me. I went with a Hikary Ultra LED bulb for the low beam, and Sylvania Silverstar Ultra for the high beam. I love the LED look, and it's focused enough for city riding. Since you can't quite get the focus of a halogen with an LED, though, I opted to keep a halogen for when I need to see the most. I really like the look of the two-tone headlight with both bulbs on, too. Edit: I just realized yours were not the actual headlight bulbs that were blue. Mine had horrible blue bulbs as the actual headlights. I couldn't see shit the whole way home.
I glued the square nuts on my last battery when I put it in on my VFR. Put the epoxy on the top and sides of the square nuts and tightened up the connection they stayed put for 2 seasons while being disconnected 3 times.

Those levers look like they need to go too, they appear to be nameless cheap ebay levers (correct me if I'm wrong). I will never understand why people spend 20k+ on a bike and then put dumbass cheap parts and mods on it
I suppose the square nuts are there in case you screw up the threading - its easier to replace. Consider the following life hack: put a small piece pop-up foam underneath the square nuts before placing the battery into the bike. That way they wont fall out of place if your bike is not upright.
I'm surprised you kept those mono point crash things on each side; not only are they ugly, but they will definitely wreck the chassis is you crash with a bit of momentum. (Source: me who managed to bend a chassis with a multi point school type crash bar).
Someone definitely did a number on that thing. I keep the techmount on my 14 though. Quadlock is just too large and obnoxious for how infrequently I actually have my phone in there. I get the sticker issue though, especially yes, since it's the wrong generation alienhead. Would drive me insane as well.

Umm who works on their bike with a sidestand when they installed spools... Issue solved with the battery nut :) And 4Lbs savings on a 400ish lbs bike is not significant. You wont even notice it. That is under 1% weight difference. Now saving weight using carbon fiber rims would be significant.
If it’s cold out all you have to do is leave your headlights on for a few seconds to warm up the battery. Then it will start. This only matters in freezing temps anyway which I don’t ride in.
Nice addition to the garage.. I fitted those small paddock stand spigots but in silver. They work well and are unnoticeable compared to the larger black items you fitted.. but to each their own. I really don’t understand why people put stickers on their bikes or fit tacky anodised parts.. I’m a big oem guy.

I was thinking the same thing, I was going to get my wheels powder coated but I noticed they have the word "HP4" painted on it and I don't want to color over that. Values around here range from about 12k-15k for a non-comp model. Comp models can vary from 14-18k. Crazy how well these bikes hold their value!

In Germany they go between 13 to 18k, I think they reached their maximum depreciation and are now gaining value. Awesome bike, still figuring how to corner as it is very different from my gixxer but the engine is something else. Keep up with the videos and tell people how great this thing is
I removed the tacky bits off my HP4... ABS brake system BS & Electronic Suspension just for starters 😂 Fitted Ohlins front and rear suspension, Factory Alpha race fuel tank, factory Alpha Radiator and oil cooler & Carbon Wheels plus Alpha L2M dash and now well out of pocket 😂
Some day I would like to be able to purchace a brand new bike. So I dont have to deal with all the shit the previous owner did. Looks like this bike is in good hands now. Best of luck with it
haha, i made the same mistake with a battery before, i was freaking out as it kept turning off. BTW, i dont buy from antigravity anymore. I bought their little 4 cell batter for a yamaha r3. It died after a season of usage, was massively disappointed. I asked what their refund policy was, they said you need to have some number that was on some paper when it came, so i couldn't even get a refund for that POS. That was the only time i strayed from my tried and true battery tender batteries. Those are actually lasting years as intended.
Most mods people do are not worth time or money. As i got older i realized why i love riding a bike, to ride alone solitutde, to get away from daily clutter. My phone is not mounted, carry it in case of emergency. Sliders are crazy in slide they can catch dig in and flip bike, make a slide into.major bike tossing, no thanks. Basically if it does not improve performance or lighten bike why waste money. My mods now consist of a few real basics, good tires better brake pads stainless brake lines. Better traction better stopping and better brake feel. Also realized a 600 sportbike has more power stock than is needed on street, or 99 percent ever use so why waste money on power adders, that is just ego crap.
Those spools are horrible should not have even put those on. Sorry but the scratched up ones look nicer than those. They look like damn frame sliders!!!...
Yeah they're a little on the big side... I think they are trying to double as axle sliders?? Idk I don't love them, i'm waiting for pitbulls to come back in stock so I can replace.
Being an Australian, I’ve always used the quadlock phone mounts and cases. As they are an Australian invention by motorbike enthusiasts. Plus, if you don’t like the blue rubber you can get that part in other colours (mines red, to match the colour of my bike). 👍😎🇦🇺

Those are bonamici levers lol $200+ folding magnesium alloy with cut outs at the ends to reduce drag when you’re at top speed

I got monster fairings a few years ago for my gsxr 750 and found lots of goodies lodged into the old plastics and this reminds me of that hahaha

Do NOT put a LI battery in your ADV bike (I.e. 1250gs). They can’t handle multiple restarts, like if you’re in a difficult section and stall a lot.
That previous battery wasn't actually charged despite it showing 12v
It should actually show up around 13.7v
12v means it's almost discharged

I would not use a lithium battery in MA or anywhere it snows. Lithium batteries do not like the cold. Good luck starting your bike on cold days.

Quadlock sucks! I love my Ram mount and the best part. I do not have to buy a new case every year to use my phone mount, unlike others manufacturers.
I want to get the Ram X mount for my bike.
Except the quad lock is way more secure than the ram mount! I had the ram mount and its shit compared to a quad lock.
