Some additional ones that I find invaluable: Atlas Loot Classic, Plater Nameplates or another (good for DPS to get a visual on the nameplates when they do or are about to pull threat), RareScanner (I have never used this before but it seems really neat and invaluable), Vendor Price (good to know what sells for what if you need to destroy items to make room on a run), Z-Pearl Unit Frames (I cannot stand the default frames and personally love Z-Pearl for raiding). Also, you should probably mention an addon manager such as the Curseforge App. Long time WoW player, coming back for SoD in hopes that we get the Classic + we always wanted.
Scrap could be replaced with leatrix plus, which has that functionality and a lot more. Great vid. I also use threat plates instead of plater, I find the options to be more in-depth and get the aesthetic to be exactly how I want it.
I actually used to use threat plates until I saw one profile I loved that just happened to be on plater. I'll have to look into leatrix though! Appreciate the support!
Plater is WAY more in depth than threat plates lmao the community literally shares hundreds of profiles with tons of customizability. Leatrix is helpful though.
Great take on damage meters, Auctionator is essential. If you don't want ot think about what to sell an item for, or have any idea how the market works this is for you. Until you are a market valuer pro, use this to ensure you are selling to 85% of the value of your items at least. And get a quick turnaround so you don't have to keep relisting
The only one that’s missing for me is “Pawn” For a new player, which I’m onboarding 5 come Nov. 30th, Pawn simplifies knowing if an item is an upgrade or not. Without it, I’ve seen my friends sell belts and gloves that were 500% upgrades for them as they just didn’t know. Making it an at-a-glance thing is super important. I also think that Scrap is a good add on, as getting a newbie to mess around in menus when they’re first starting can frustrate them (Configuring Leatrix).
pawn isnt very accurate though, especially when we get closer to end game at lvl 60. You just need to know your stat weights and use sims. Pawn wont account for stat weight changes unless you specifically already know them and input them. But at that point you can just sim or stack stats that you know are better.
Yes this exactly right here, but for absolute new players it's a good "baseline". Indeed need to be careful and smart about the addon and not just always trust it's word out of the box though
pawn is trash very missleading and even if you knwo how to use raidbots to sim your stat weights properly they chnage with every new item and you need to sim it every time it is still trash delete that shit .

I believe that he's using the term sandbox loosely and some people have a problem with that. Actually on topic because it's via an addon! It's my Vuhdo frames I use for healing in retail and they just carry over to classic as well. A bit complicated to set up but very handy.

Wow is not a sandbox, it is a theme park. Zones have levels and quests designed for a specific progression path with little to no variance. That is a theme park, it is like going to different roller coasters, they all follow the same track even if they are a bit different. A sandbox is more like Ultima Online where you just start somewhere and can go anywhere and do anything. Nothing is level gated, nothing is attunement gated, there literally is no progression in a sandbox, you can set out to kill anything you want to at level 1 with enough friends, etc. Where in WoW you have certain limitations in the content, only X players per dungeon, per raid, per PvP event. A true sandbox does not even instance anything, the dungeons are just part of everything else and you can go in with as many as you want and you see other players outside of your party there. WoW has very few sandbox elements in it, and that is not a knock on it, just don't like hearing someone call WoW a sandbox game...
I can kind of agree with this sentiment at least for combat addons. They are why retail raiding got so insane, eventually climaxing at legion. However I am a big fan of UI and social addons!
