Because there is a lot of nuance. Intermittent fasting itself doesn’t not cause fat loss(or at least significantly), it doesn’t break the laws of thermodynamics. However, I did lost a lot of weight myself intermittent fasting. Why? Because while doing intermittent fasting, it helped a lot with my cravings and cut out a lot of my mindless snacking. Remember, fat loss is pretty ‘simple’, eat less move more which everyone knows. The hard part is finding ways to make it easier for you. For some, that might be intermittent fasting. For some, it might be walking. It might be the carnivore diet or weight training or yoga. Which is why there might seem to be contradictions but that is just because people are wired differently. It is like asking ‘how can you make money?’, there is not universal answer that works for everyone. Some people become rich being NBA athlete, but can the ‘average’ person do that? Probably not.

You need this.... 1.Training extremely hard & smart as you can & consistently. Accept this is going to be hell-ish. 2. Sleep & stress free as much as possible. 3. Eat well & document it. 4. Men Check your testosterone level, and high chance its lower than it should be. Start testosterone and start feeling strong 💪
Growing just muscles is so wrong. Moving and learning how to move correctly is right way to do muscle growth. If goal is muscle growth then you end up being elder without ability of moving, your heart gives up because you have to move that mass which doesn't have any other purpose than outlook. Only men loves muscles, women loves how you use your body.
The fifty workouts idea sounds good, but could with it explained and clarified more. Firstly, is it the exact same workout except for changes in weights, reps and number of reps, like there's not a specific leg day, chest day, core etc? It is harder to put on weights and your age, that being said it is definitely doable, especially if you would be taking outside sources of Testosterone, that being said I would recommend you only take physiological doses of testosterone if you are going down that route, and take it with the supervision of a doctor. Ok so if you have been training for only 5 months notice your training, are you getting stronger? Are you able to lift more weight? Or To do more reps? Or to do more sets? Or a combination of those. If so then you are on the right track. Something to keep in mind is that the body will get stronger for a while before seeing significant muscle mass increases, once your body increases quite substantially in its neurological adaptations, it will be forced to put on more muscle to keep increasing your strength, so, like I said, if you are getting stronger, and are able to do more throughout your workouts, it is definitely a good sign. Also be patient, you are over 60 so don’t expect to see the same results as someone who is 20, just stay consistent and make it a lifestyle. If you’re not getting stronger week to week, or are getting weaker, check that your workouts are good (I am assuming they are - remember track your reps and sets week by week, so you can try to beat your lastweek numbers). In the end you might check your bloodwork. Good luck 👍

To recomp your body and stay the same weight change the percentages of the macro nutrients you're consuming; eg 40% protein, 40% carbs, 20% fats. Fin d out what works best for you and just put in the work. Consistency is key and that's all you need to know. Don't overthink it.

@@Steve24527Yeah, if you listen to the full length Podcast he says that your ability to put on muscle won't change that drastically compared to your 20s. (to an extent) It's just that there are other barriers that can make it more challenging such as energy levels, decreased mobility (less range of motion), bone density etc. I would opt in for muscle functionality and health, but you can definitely gain a few extra pounds once you've identified the problem. (if there is one)
