Nice idea, well made. Looks like this is the 1st channel from down under I am going to subscribe. Keep on producing nice things and make videos doing so! (and sorry for my English ...)
This was really well thought. I planning on sending in a patent application for making whistles that intend to sound like ACTUAL locomotives that did or still do exist. I may do different designs depending on the amount of chimes depending on the number of chimes.
I'm not saying it will be lucrative, but there are definitely train enthusiasts that would love that idea. I have a family member that I think would get a kick out of having a true sound train whistle to a specific train.
@@mtarrant3 7, 9, 11 and 13mm different depth? Or do you mean the depth of the holes are 7, 9, 11 and 13 CM ? The space between the lines on your drill is more than 2mm. I really like the sound and i'am going to make one.
One of these was a present for a 3 year old, so yer I made them as toys. The air pressure to make them work is a blow from the lungs, so what ever that is in PSI/Bar.
I'm amazed he still has all of his fingers. There are several dangerous procedures he does, that can be done safely. Tung oil is a poor choice for something that will have your lips on it..
Wow. That sounds perfect! Thank you for the detailed video and wonderful craftsmanship!
Just stumbled onto this. Very cool. Thanks for the video.

I must say I enjoyed watching this. Nice job
That's a cool project. I'm going to have to make one of those. Thanks for the video. Just subscribed.
Excellent video, thank you! The teachers are on strike tomorrow, so I now know what I’ll be making with my grandson.
Very good instructional video. Thanks

The steam locomotive still lives in you, that's for sure! Great job making the train whistles! 👌

Good job, I’m thinking of making one of these myself\
very very very excellent
Parabéns pelo seu trabalho, muito bom.
It's good that I found this instruction. There is nothing on Russian-language sources.
Brilliant!
Dang! I didn't realize how many expensive tools it takes to make a whistle.
What were the holes measurements please. Great Video!
2.16 of the video, cheers

G'day Mark, the holes are 7, 9, 11 and 13 cm deep into the wood.
Nice. Do you intend these for pocket novelty use, or shop air ? Bar/PSI ?

compressed air test please
Why do people keep mentioning this? I would think that whistles tuned for being blown with the lungs might work terribly with high pressure / flow.
2020 y aun no pasa nada

I have a train whistle made from a railroad spike
Now thats a cool idea, do you have a photo by any chance?
inspired by steve ramsey 😉
It's not a reed, it's a fipple
Not mm, cm !
Those hole depths on the screen are nonsense. It says 7,9,11,13 mm, they are obviously much deeper than that
Yep should be cm
this is a copy
