This is why companies like Jade Bloom and Plant Therapy always always say you should not ingest any oils. At allllllll. But then since they cannot outright ban it, they will always say to use their own discretion but the CEOs themselves do not promote the oral ingestion of essential oils. JADE BLOOM even comes up with a list of e.os that yoh absolutely cannot ingest or even place near your mouth. And they cite case studies and showcase websites which shows what kind of injuries has happened to people who ingest e.os.

Thank you SO MUCH for this. I cannot stand when MLM oil shillers claim they can be ingested. As an ER nurse, I've firsthand had patients come in with adverse GI effects due directly to ingesting essential oils. So glad I have this video to share a biochemist's explanation!

Sadly I don’t think that many of them are shillers. Maybe influencers or people with a large following, but they’ve been brainwashed for sure which is even more scary. Especially those who are with YL in my opinion. I don’t even know how many would believe these videos even though they’re facts that can’t be argued with. One of my friends recently got sucked into YL, I couldn’t believe it! it’s not just EO’s either they have tons of products, and now she’s in deep. She has kids that are around all that, it’s sad but I don’t even know what to say. Oddly enough she’s a nurse too.

You're right though that MLM oil consultants likely won't pay mind to Kenna's explanation, because they tend to be naive/in denial/really want to make that $$$ so they refuse to believe SCIENCE. But, I sure can share the video with innocent people who are being told EO are safe to ingest.

Charley Mack you need to do some research. MLM’s are NOT pyramid schemes, those have been banned for years and are literally illegal. The government breathes down Young Living’s back, especially the FDA. They were under fire with the FDA for a long time, actually. If they were a pyramid scheme, they wouldn’t be allowed to operate in the United States. MLM’s are toxic and I highly disagree with their business practices especially companies that promote dangerous habits like Young Living and Doterra, however, they are not pyramid schemes and just because you “think” they are doesn’t mean they actually are. You are spreading misinformation.

Charley Mack young living has been around for over 25 years and generates over a billion in profits worldwide each year. This means that they have been audited HEAVILY and will continue to be. If they were a pyramid scheme, they would’ve been wiped out long ago. We may disagree with their business practices but MLM’s are far different from a pyramid scheme. I am assuming you’ve never taken any marketing or business courses (I have a masters in that field) so you are misinformed. Not a huge deal, they just aren’t pyramid schemes.

The type is most important as what is safe for humans is traditionally not safe for animals as they metabolize things differently. Also, what is are for animals can be toxic to humans. Medications for heart issues are a great example as a six pound Chihuahua can take doses of furosemide that can be deadly to a six year old.
Kenna spoke about the hydrocarbons found in some E.O. which do off gas because they are volatile in exposure to atmosphere and light. People tend to think that the scent is okay because they are all natural... However... Petroleum is technically at start a natural product that is refined. Gasoline for instance has loads of hydrocarbons that when inhaled are deadly.

You have to know which oils that are made for taking orally and those that cannot be taken orally. I have been taking oils for years and they work fine for me. However, there are definitely oils you cannot take orally. Food grade essential oils are safe to mix in water, juices, and shakes.
That is because they are extracts taken from the plants, food, skin, seeds, etc... However, I would not orally take an oil that comes from a tree, I would use those topically, to clean, and in a diffuser. As for the oils I take orally and full strength, they are black seed oil (one teaspoon), olive oil (one tablespoon), coconut oil (cooking and salads), and avocado oil (cooking).
Moreover, I use them all for many different reasons: orally and topically. Nevertheless, they are antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, etc... and are some of the reasons I have never been sick 😷, ever! Essential oils have been used by our African ancestors for centuries and passed down from generations to generations.

Essential oils are not made to smell good, that's what they're used for nowadays. Keep in mind they've been used medicinally since around 3000bc, it's important to know which oils to use and how. Some oils can be taken internally but only ingest oils that are pure and un adulterated. Also it's very important that they are sourced from where they grow indigenously and not sourced on factory farms where they mono crop and deplete the complexity of the terpene profiles. Keep in mind if your paying under $10 for a bottle of essential oil it was not sustainably harvested and it was probably not grown in the proper climate. If you don't want to internalize them then just put them on your feet because your feet have the biggest pores in your body and when you put them on your feet they travel to every cell in your body within 20 min. The perfume companies extract esters from essential oils, which is the part of the essential oil that produces the smell, however also in those essential oils have a variety of unique chemical constituents which have tons of benefits. Terpenes exist in botanicals to keep the plants immune system healthy, and to protect the plant from diseases. They do the same thing for us when we consume them. The point of using essential oils is not to try to gain nutrients from them that you would get from fruits and vegetables. It's to take advantage of the extremely complex terpene profiles that are in these botanicals that you're not going to find and your fruits and vegetables at the grocery store. did you know that 10% of the botanicals found on Earth are capable of producing essential oils? Also when you consume black pepper oil that helps your body absorb the nutrients you get from whole foods. I find that way too many people are subjective when it comes to essential oils, they want to throw around their own opinions and repeat what they've heard from other people without being objective and doing their own research and learning the facts on both sides before they come to a conclusion. Just because a couple mlms gave mlms a bad name does not mean that all mlm's are bad. You need to look at the difference is between a pyramid scheme in an MLM. I have sources for everything I'm saying, sources that come from doctors and scientists. not your friend that thinks they know everything, when they're really just playing a game of telephone. The funny thing is is that most you people that think essential oils are so dangerous probably put tons of chemicals in your body everyday from the chewing gum, to the shampoo you put on your hair. But you don't think about that do ya.

People take it lightly because they don't realize that plants are literally medicine. The difference between medicine and poison is in the dose. Pharmaceutical companies take parts of plants to make the medicines they have. An EO is a non blended version of that. Make sure to read ingredients and everything else on back of your essential oil bottles. You need to be sure it’s 100% not 10% but 100% natural and if it is you are allowed to drink it by diluting it. But will need to drink it out of a glass cup with nothing plastic going in or touching your diluted water bc the oils can take chemical from plastic and it cause problems so use a glass cup DONT mix with plastic. Make sure back says 100% not 10% and mix well in water with anything that isn’t plastic! And you’ll be totally okay! Don't injest essential oils. Use some common sense here and get herbals intended for comsumption. Tinctures are the concentrated versions. Tincture is the fancy word for extract. Like the vanilla extract we cook with, they do have alcohol. The alcohol will evaporate off if you use them for tea or cooking. If you're taking them as a medical remedy, you can by pass the alcohol and horrible taste of the herb by putting the drops in a gelatin capsule. Of course this has to be done and taken immediately. Works like a charm! The herb I take as a medical remedy has been made for the eye dropper to be one dose. I suggest buying them made this way. The lavender I put in tea only notes its concentration. Starting with one drop, you'll quickly find the recipe that works for you.

I only use a few drops of peppermint EO mixed in a generous amount of a carrier oil or a blend like pumpkin, manula, argan, Avocado, caster, coconut, etc as a leave on scalp and hair masque. The peppermint apparently cleans and invigorates the scalp so aids in hair growth and pumpkin oil helps gently exfoliation along with proteins from the oils to add in moisture and strength. So I was told anyway. It feels quite lovely as a treatment. I don’t do it regularly enough to confirm it’s efficacy but my shampoo also has peppermint and some of the same ingredients so I suppose there are benefits to these ingredients used this way. Tulip O'Hare dogs are okay with most essential oils, although not all. The book Holistic Aromatherapy for Animals by Kristen Leigh Bell is a fantastic resource. Plant Therapy also makes blends specially formulated for pets. NEVER around cats by the way. The do not possess the proper enzymes in their liver to metabolize essential oils and they can build up and become toxic for cats over time.
As far as asthma, they can be beneficial as well as harmful. It is really dependent on the individual. If someone with asthma has a bad allergy to roses, it’s quite possible that rose essential oil, or other florals could cause an allergic reaction thus triggering an asthma attack.
However, it’s also possible that things like fir needle, spruce, or eucalyptus could help open airways for someone who is suffering.
There are contraindications with some medications and illnesses and certain essential oils can have a negative effect. If there is a genuine concern, I recommend having a consultation with a certified aromatherapist to address all of these issues as they can be so specific to each individual.

    • @brittanyblankenship5166
      @brittanyblankenship5166 5 років тому

Tulip O'Hare I stay away from all artificial scents and fragrances as they bother my allergies and seasonal asthma and have shown time and time again to be toxic. You can use essential oils on yourself or in a personal inhaler and it will be fine. I don’t recommend diffusing around cats, ever. HOWEVER, if you were to shut your cat in a room for an hour, you could diffuse for 30min (in another room) and then let the room air out for at least 30 min before letting the cat back in.
Some people diffuse with cats and just always make sure the cat has a way out of the room. Many cats will remove themselves from a room with a diffuser by instinct. I don’t own a cat so I cannot speak to this personally. I would likely use oils on myself or in a room where the cat cannot enter for a while after the diffusion has stopped.

Apryl White plant therapy, mountain rose herbs, Rocky Mountain oils. Auracacia, DeRu extracts, aromatics international, av-at, nature’s gate are all great and pass gc/ms testing with flying colors

hi! :) i have a question. do essential oils mix with hydrosols? i think they don't since they are "plant waters", but i wanna make sure. i want to try diluted tea tree oil for my acne. is a carrier oil the only choice? it seems like jojoba oil is relatively a safe one, but i'm very afraid to try since my skin hates oils... :/
oh, and what are the ratios for an ideal mixture?
    thanks in advance! :)

I’ve ingested a few drops of wild oregano c93 oil as a cold/decongestant remedy - it was on the suggestion from a naturopath enthusiast (not an actual dr) while on vacation in India as I was suffering from the air quality don’t recall what we diluted it with however but knew it was potent from the taste alone. It did seem to help. glad I didn’t do any damage. I’ll look more into the safety of that.

So if I make an infused rosemary oil I couldn't take a drop of it? But it's safe to eat the herb if you dry it?
