Chapter 6 Why did Johnny decide to turn himself into the police? Johnny decided to turn himself in to the police because he did not want to spend his whole life hiding. He had thought if he turned himself in he would have a better chance of getting off easy with the help of Ponyboy and Cherry. Describe how Johnny and Ponyboy acted heroically. They were like heroes because they ran back to the church to save the children as they sort of felt like it was there fault the fire started and risked there lives even though Dally told them the roof was collapsing. Why did Dally suddenly enter the burning building? Dally went into the burning building to rescue Johnny. Why did Dally hit Ponyboy? He hit Ponyboy on the back to put out the fire because he was burning. What made Ponyboy realize at last that Darry loved him? Explain what he meant by “I was finally home to stay”. Jerry told Ponyboy when he woke up that Darry had hit him to put out the fire on him, Ponyboy realized Darry did that because he was afraid of losing him and this made Ponyboy feel wanted. Pony essentially meant that he had finally learned that Darry actually loves him and he would never think of running away again. I think one day in the future somebody is gonna call me out for doing this on insta since I linked my UA-cam in my linktree

Mr Roberts, thank you for recording this beloved novel! You are a blessing as the narrator/Ponyboy. My students enjoy your narrator's voice. Over and over again.

Just wanted to say that if you want to listen to the audiobook of the outsiders it best to listen while play "Reflections by Toshifumi Hinata" in the background. it a really peaceful song and it sounds perfect with the narrator! trust me it changes the whole experience especially in chapter 4-5 Please hear me out if you are reading this i promise you its worth it because adding music in the background has really helped me understand the story more and like the story much better!!

@@deleted866 This is where I should be more careful, (thanks for reminding me.). I will be 59 next month, and learned a heck of a lot over the last 19 years. I get pretty political, based on what i observe and my own life experiences, (which you do not have yet). I don't know who old people are in these comments sections, and I don't want to be a bummer old guy and hurt a 13 year old boys childhood. You may be a bit young for what I will suggest, but maybe not. 13 years old may be a good time to start reading Ayn Rand. She was a playwright and a great philosopher, but she grew up in Russia, about your age during the communist/bolshevik revolution there that destroyed everything people built, (took her fathers pharmacy in a small town also, calling it a monopoly). After moving a couple times, her parents ended up gathering all the money they had and sent Ayn to the USA in the 1920's, in her 20's. She saw policy put in place that leads to communism, and warned us a lot, to the core of philosophy (how we should live, and your college course will be junk, like mine was.), how we are moving in that direction. She loved this nation because it was founded on "individual liberty", (which freed the slaves in Western Culture,---by law, first time in the world of slavery.), and us free people creating free enterprise, (yep, it belongs to us). Understand what I said,---and I might just have made you a Hero. We are not suppose to "live for the good of the all", or else we would not have a brain that can figure out reality, when we are free enough to do it. That is what makes us human. So the next time you have a teacher talking/joking about genitals, I would love you to tell them, "This is a school for brain development, and we don't think with our genitals, (or skin color). Are you confusing this building for a Brothel?" No, you will not get a good grade,---but you will be a Hero. :) Doug in Michigan
Oh yea, when you teachers "Boo" Ayn Rand, (and they will),---that alone should spark interest in investigation. :) Some of her stuff is a real tough read though. Not confusing like school, but will need a dictionary to know exactly what is said. Start of with a story called, "Anthem". "We the living" is also a good start. But her non-fiction is the meat of life, (her philosophy and capitalism books). Just remember, she loved the founding of the USA, and it was not what is taught today.
