Radical_PalSimmo it’s not underestimated. It is a highly difficult shot to execute correctly these days mainly because you will likely be playing it off a passing shot with pace. You need quick reaction, anticipation, technique and feel for the shot, because if it lands in, it needs to be placed really well as well as having the right amount of spin to make sure it doesn’t sit up too long. The shot sits up there with a list of other incredibly difficult shots to perform, excluding trick shots.
The drop volley from Rafa in this video, is similar to a certain pattern that Rafa generally employs. Rafa normally hits that drop volley with a little more side spin. Rafa actually does have a pattern that I’m not sure many notice, but when he does come in on the right handed opponent’s forehand when they are deep, he is normally able to anticipate the cross pass attempt, and then hit either the backhand drop volley, or backhand drop shot with side spin towards the ad side of the opponent’s court. And he hits it in a way where it doesn’t have to be that perfect but to make sure that the opponent is really stretched if they get there, and that if they do, they need to come up with a really good pass. Anyways, I felt it was a good example that even if the opponent sees a pattern, if they cannot deal with it well enough, then it doesn’t really matter if they can read it. Sometimes, some players get too absorbed in trying to be unpredictable they forget that a little of the straightforward approach can also work. That was mainly how Sampras operated. Even if you see it coming, you cannot stop it. And to an extent, that is true.
Benoit Paire one is like tennis porn Just Perfect...it doesn't get any better than the first one and the amazing camera work showed us why! I love how he looks at the ball slowly going over the net and spinning backward.
No Grand Slam highlights, sadly. I don't think they have the rights to put them on Tennis TV or in this channel. But I wholeheartedly agree. There are some ridiculous ones by Federer, Nadal and Murray that happened in Grand Slams.
ZAGOR TE-NAY this guy is an absolute joke😂😂 you know that stats at this level of competition between these three and especially on a sport like tennis mean close to nothing it’s all about the skill and the talent one has and literally everyone says that Federer is the most talented guy out there
One of the most underestimated shots! They may look flashy but they are very tactically smart shots when played and executed at the right moment.
they look anything BUT flashy because of the sheer difficulty.

Sinner had one incredible volley too i think on the next gen tournament
Nadal's one against Thiem in FO final deserved to be included
Grand slams and ATP are not the same thing

Really? Where's del Potro's against Novak in Rome 19?
it was half volley
Imagine if we could add Grand Slams. There would be several good ones from Federer and Murray.
Lopez drop shot is the craziest
Where is del potro volley vs djokovic in Rome '19
That was a half volley because the ball hit the ground. These are just pure volleys.
All of them have learnt from the undisputed greatest champion Bernard TOMIC
