    Well, if this isn’t the best bedtime story I’ve ever heard. 😂 what a fabulous piece of history! It’s awesome to see how American society was changing in those post-war years.

    What a fabulous treat, can't wait for you to give us part ll. My own dresses are based on many of the looks in the illustrations. I love the materials, colors, patterns, and the flow of the garments. I also love the shoulder length hairstyles featured in the photos. For work tomorrow, I'm going to use your tips from your video on how to deal with frizzy hair, and style it in the pageboy shown in the catalogue. And also I'll be wearing one of my flowiest frocks.

    Yes, I'd love to see everything! I remember mail order catalogs when i was growing up and sitting on those piled up with a pot at the dinner table! I'd prefer that method, honestly. The cost of a car seems expensive when you compare it to the cost of a house. So interesting!

      I thought the same thing!🧐

      @@wrinklesandsprinkles I just checked and the average price of a car in 2021 is....get ready for it....$40,472 😳 I don't know who the average folk are, but I guess I don't make that cut! Haha For reference, the average cost of a house in 2021 is $400,000

      @@vintagedoll4850 That’s why my car is a year 2000 & I don’t own a house! My income does not keep up with the increased cost of goods. 😉

    Dear Christine, thank you very much! Oh, you are so lucky to have such an excellent catalog! What wonderful models. 😍 I've never heard of a brunch coat, if I heard correctly, sorry for my poor English 🙈. Thank you for the 1947 retrospective, it was so interesting! 😃 And of course it is interesting to see everything of this catalogue, including furniture! 👏 Special thanks for the music. It was like I visited some spa while watching the video, so relaxing beauty! 😌 🙏 Do you have some similar models in your wardrobe with which ones we saw in this catalogue?

    • @TheGlambassador
      @TheGlambassador  3 роки тому +1

      I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I do have some similar dresses in my wardrobe, mostly the house dress or shirt dresses. And yes, you heard correct, it was called a Brunch Coat! That was a new term to me, but I love the idea of it.

      @@TheGlambassador Thank you, Christine 🤗. Oh, I would love to see your similar dresses compared to this catalog.😍
      And I wonder why this dress is named brunch coat?

    If there are kids clothes, I'd be curious to see them-my aunt was a year old, and my dad arrived in early 1947, so my grandmother was clearly buying clothes for them during this year (and like, every year going forward, he's one of 9 kids.)
