    The biggest problem I have with mine is that the grip module fitment is way too tight where the sear spring and hammer spring housing go. Attempting sear spring adjustment is a monumental task trying to get it to line up properly then getting the housing back into place. Thanks for all of your education videos, by the way.

      These guns are production pistols - no fitting. Generally, if you buy a new mainspring housing, it is too thick and needs fit to the pistol. That is just another of the many issues you may run into with a cheap, production 1911. Grip module is plastic, take a little material off the inside of the mainspring housing channel, or off the sides of the plastic mainspring housing so it fits better. make you life easier when adjusting sear springs.

    We had same issue with all five we ordered for our shop. My shop is about 30 minutes from SDS/Tisas in Knoxville and they wasn’t no help on resolving the issue. We can’t keep any 1911 Tisas in stock due to us talking them up so high and this happens. Hopefully they get issue resolved and take you email serious because I used your cleanup method and all five are snug and good to go. Awesome video with great detailed info. Thank you

      Dang that's a shame to hear it's a common problem! And also sucks Tisas didnt help get it resolved. I'm glad you were able to get the optics to fit! There wasnt much file work needed on mine luckily.

    My was the same, cheap Riton would fit but my Holosuns would not. Tisas wants me to send them the slide to fix it but haven’t yet.

      Ah dang! Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear yours is the same. Seems like it may be an issue with their tolerances. Its easy to clean up (took me about 10 min). But I understand not everyone will be comfortable doing that, and its bullshit that it needs done in the first place.

      They will not fix it. I had the same issue. They sent me a shim.

    My EPS Carry mounted perfectly to the BR9 using the thin plate the EPS ships with, maybe I got lucky. The Holosun optics can occasionally be slightly off with measurements, that could be the reason it didn't fit right in. Also the Tisas magwell is in stock right now.

    • @EngineersArmory
      @EngineersArmory  4 місяці тому +1

      Ah I didn't think to check if the adapter plate in there would help. Glad to hear you didn't have issues!

    Had a friend send me this video. I am buying the 5” version this weekend. I’m going to have them fit an eps to the slide and see if this is still a problem. From what I was told at the store, these came in a couple weeks ago. So I’m hoping this has been resolved. Otherwise they lost a sale.

    • @EngineersArmory
      @EngineersArmory  2 місяці тому +2

      Well I hope you find that the optic fits! If you think to do it, please give me an update. I have heard of a few people having the same problem, and a few people not. Seemed to be less prevalent on the 5" guns.

      @@EngineersArmory hey. Just thought I’d let you know that all 3 of the 5” tisas double stacks in stock had fitment issues with the eps. The gunsmith said he could fix it for a fee or contact Tisas about sending to back to them. I decided it’s not worth the hassle.
      I ended up finding a Mac 9 ds for a really good price online and got that instead.

    VOTATU PMD505-R Micro Red Dot for RMS/RMSc Footprint, fits perfectly fine.

    • @EngineersArmory
      @EngineersArmory  25 днів тому

      For perfectly fine *on your specific pistol.* I suspect that the poor QC and tolerancing on this footprint will lead to the same optic not fitting one slide, but fitting another. Thanks for sharing your data point tho! It's good to hear some people are getting optic cuts that dont have issues with their particular optic.

    Man… your videos are on point. Specially since I have been thinkin about getting this pistol. I have watched your other videos on the Tisas DS and have helped me tons in making my decision and what I might encounter if I pick it up. I’m comfortable filing here and there if need be. Just need to get some cold blue. I have quite a few of different pitch and length mounting screws, I’ll try those if not I’m gonna hit you up to hook me up with a couple of yours! Haha! Thanks for all the info! Are you on IG?

      Glad you're enjoying the videos man! I am trying to answer a bunch of questions I had about the pistol before I bought it so that others may have the answers. I also found a bunch of extra M3x 0.5 screws in my extras that came with optics so maybe some optics do come with them. I don't have IG.
