Great video! Basically perfect. But could you maybe write the 5 different exercises in the description (with timestamps)? This could be helpful in any of your video's because it usually is a top 5 or something.

We will be honest with you. We tried that for several months, but our analytics showed that would cause people to click off as soon as they saw the exercise. This resulted in less watch time for the videos which caused UA-cam to not push the videos as much. We understand how that it can be annoying, but this is why we stopped adding them. Hope you understand.

My 12 year old son is really getting into athletics, and specifically sprinting. He only gets to train one day a week with his club so I try to hit the track with him one other day to increase training volume. I'd like to get him started on some s&c, but is he too young to start introducing weighted movements like the clean and squats into a program? I know high school athletes in the US do start using weights but here in the UK we don't have anywhere near the same infrastructure around sports development. Can anyone give any advice?

Great video, I've been a sprint coach for nearly a decade now and I love being exposed to other ways of thinking about things. I found your views on quads interesting, I like the front squat because it loads the trunk, and helps with core rigidity during stress. But I've never really thought about its impact on the quads because from a technical standpoint, the quads are not the primary driver for sprints in any faze of the race the way I teach it. If someone has an imbalance and getting stronger quads would correct that then sure, but it never occurred to me that strengthening the quads would help with the drive phase. This gives me something else to research. I teach front end mechanics that require core and hip strength, contact mechanics that engage the glutes, and recovery mechanics that engage the hamstrings, the quads are only used for extension and joint alignment during contact prep. Maybe I've been doing it wrong, this is exciting to consider.

I would recommend some sort of padding and if they need assistance because they are not strong enough, I recommend holding onto a resistance band from behind to build up the hamstring strength. They could have a partner behind them or tie it to something sturdy behind them.

Do coaches really think that because hamstrings are isometric in function regarding sprinting, they don't need to be trained the same way as any other muscle? They're muscles. You get a full contraction, full ROM, progressive overload, it gets stronger, you get faster.
Any coach who disagrees needs to spend a few years in the gym bodybuilding.
