- This video shows a short test of the ANet ET4+ 3D Printer. It provides some cool features that allow continuing after power off and changing the filament mid-print. I tested the filament change to print a functional lamp case for a simple 16x16 pixel RGB LED matrix. The lamp is driven by the ESP8266 and WLED. It can be controlled over WiFi and used for several IoT purposes.

It’s so good of you to use your channel to help those with less or none. It’s so easy to be discouraged these days. Well done.
It is so cool that you can start learning electronics from an 5 dollar microcontroller and a PC/Laptop and some spare components for just some dollars!!!
* laughs in Colin Furze *
Wow! This video could easily be part of the sales pitch for the printer. What awesome features and how simple it is to assemble & use!
Cool finally a smaller version :)
It looks like Anet has grown up. I am still using my DIY Anet A8 printer, highly upgraded off course due to the fire hazard and instability. The build-in features of this printer amazes me!
I'm still using my 8yr old a8 😉
Wow, never heard of these led matrixes before. They look like cool toy. Definitely have to order one, even though I have no idea where to use them yet :D
Well done review and I nice little printer. I was pretty impressed with the performance during the live stream.
I love the enthusiasm in your videos!
UA-cam needs more people like you. Happy New Year and thank you.
So wonderful that you can help a youth center that is creating creators. Thanks
Nice! happy 🎄🤶🏼 and stay healthy!
Ich freue mich jedes Mal mit dir mit ;-)
Great video as usual! BTW, Happy new year, Mattias!
Wow that print pause on filament end is really Handy!
I had no clue what this video would come out cause I have 0 3D printing knowledge
but this one was a great description and explanation of features and how to use.
Thanks a lot ... one fine day I will get one - not this year for sure, but in 8 days the next year will start .
First I need to finish my workbenk in the shop and then setup my new PC before 3d printer might be the next adventure to print stuff I need in my RC models.
Merry Chrismas
Cute lamp. Definitely going to try making something similar.
Thanks for sharing your great design.
Happy holidays to you and your family 🎄🎆👍😁
Finally a new Video. I never watch livestreams, they are boring. But i like your videos. Keep going. Nice video.
Excellent project - so well explained.
Quick build and awsome !
This looks really cool, I'm gonna make one.
Hell yeah nice work getting a printer for the youth center!
If you ever want to play with even more advanced filament change stuff, the Mosaic Palette auto-splicer is pretty neat. It gives you a bunch of options for your filament changing and also has a slicer which lets you change filament multiple times per layer, even. It’s a bit pricey though.
genuinely good ad presentation
The jump in quality from the infamous A8 is astonishing! Great work, Anet!
Great as always!!!
Inductive probe - neat - but what firmware and can it be tuned and upgraded without relying on manufacturer binaries? What does the electronics look like? Typical Anet issues have been with electrical and thermal safety, so how are they handling it here?
Nice project!
BTW: if your 3D printer does not support filament change, you could cut off the top and bottom parts in software (like Windows 10 3D Builder) and print those separately with other filament. Print them a bit larger so you can push them over the (semi-)transparent middle part.
Loved the video and thank you for supporting this youth center, hope this inspires them to make great things!! I would donate some money for their tools/materials if there was a way on how to make donations!
Nice video! And very good cause! Love it. You spelled pritners wrong in the description :p
I love it!
Thank you , you made it look so easy . One thing I like is that you have used only one power source for both ws2812b and the controller. No capacitor on the vcc and no resistor on the controller data pin . All other videos I seen use them as best practice ( which complicates the wiring ) . Is it safe to run the 256 LED on full brightness with the controller attached ?
Superb!
I can’t figure out the wiring for the esp. the barrel jack is connected to the leds but how does the esp get power.
Not really explained on the site either. Plus the link to the power supply lists about ½ dozen different ones. 5v 2A for those looking.
Loved how you got excited about the prints. Looks really good.
ive never seen such a good "re-printing" after filament lost or power lost. Maybe ill get this one for testing too. Currently i have an Ender 3 from Creatlity and im pretty happy about it. but the easy resume feature is missing on this one.
3:48 I thought there was yellow leds blinking on the ping pong wall. Then I realized it's just an optical illusion haha
Ordered one of this matrixes. Will build such a lamp and put it into my daughters bedroom. I’m sure she will like it because she loves blinking colorful lights ATU the age of 3
you can use M600 if the printer have a filament sensor or just try in pronterface to send M600 when the printer is at least 170º
Can I ask you, is 2A enough? As I calculate, 256LEDs x 3colors x 20mA = 15,36A max (+the ESP). How can a 2A power supply drive all the stuff? Is it safe? Or do you use them with very low PWM ratio? I want to build my first LED matrix project, but I don't know how big power supply do I need.
wouldn't the diffusor have a much better effect if the lamp was bigger and there's some distance between the leds and the housing? :)
Hey. I can't find the attachment that show the electronic circuit welding. Can you write the links please?
Your X-axis belt seems to be loose, should get it tightened down or you risk getting layer shifts. Also check the Y-axis belt while you are at it.
Hello, is the table for the lamp made by you or can I download it somewhere? Thank you.
What semi-transparent filament did you use?
A new Video. 😁
What is that app he used to program the ESP8266?
Which wled binary did you use for matrix support ??
I had the exact same thought.
There's a link in the description to the build instructions, on that page Mr Luni links the bin file directly.
That binary he linked is for linear. It does work on matrices in the form of a winding snake. However, from his video it seems as if the effects are coherent with the matrix, which is confusing!
nice! wanna print it but school is closed so no 3d printer available
Hey why don't you create a Bluetooth speaker with the individually addressable lights on the side of the tube, y'now like the JBL Pulse... ?
What brand of filament do you use ?
Anet don't ship to Canada ! ??? I love the 16 x 16 matrix! Going to try that for sure. I am still using my 4 yr old Anet A8 :-) which still works very well in spite of being made or acrylic. Upgraded to the hilt. Merry xmas.
I have the same printer. 😀😀😀😀
That's not what resume on power loss is for, surprised that print stayed stuck to the glass. Or the heat from the nozzle didn't creep up the tube and melt the filament, blocking it.
Net schlecht 👍
Having seen other reviews of this printer (Tom etc), this is quite a different review! I hope the youth centers have smoke detectors.
Cnc Kitchen is that you?
You could send me the complete firmware for your printer. I also have an anet and ET4 Plus, however ask for the firmware. please, could you help me ?
🦆🦆👍👍🌲
The filament sensor pause the filament and also di music.
I have idea to make u show me how make 3d bluetooth light words
How did Tom (that 3g printing guru youtuber) hate this printer so much... If it works this well...
Probably because anet is one of the worst 3d printing company out there. I would not advise to buy any anet product unless you get it for an extremely low price and know exactly how to troubleshoot your printer. Maybe they have some good batch of this printer but since their qc is terrible (they probably don't even have any) buying their product is basically playing russian roulette. And if you think I'm just a hater remember we're almost in 2021 and Anet still sell the A8 kit 🤔
It's a very nice gesture to give away those printers, but Anet.. the reviews I have seen about them weren't good at all 😕 especially with safety and how electrical things are made....
Wasn't Anet the 3D printer most famous for being a serious fire hazard?
Anet has a really bad rep. And that for an reason. Thomas Sanladerer made a good video about it.
Don't be a sheep. I have had 2 Anet printers and both print fantastic whilst undercutting many out there for price
I've got an Anet A8.
An early version too!
Is it a great printer? - Compared to what is available now? -No.
But is it good? - Yes.
I paid £150 for a 3D printer delivered to my door a few years ago. At the time, others were double that price.
Yes, I've had a few little issues with it.
But nothing major. Nothing dangerous.
Treat it like a car.
Service it every few prints, check belts, connectors, wiring, bolts etc..
I would buy another ANet without hesitation.
Thomas Salander was, I think, a little hard on Anet.
@@jparky1972 can't agree more. Had ET4 original for £110 delivered and now an ET4 Pro delivered for £135. Assembly took ten minutes, got lucky both times, everything was setup correctly out the box, no wobbly axis or anything like that. Some of the features are gimmicks, nobody needs them (filament detection, auto levelling) but glass bed and nice housing are a definite plus point. Similar priced printers made by others look like they cost £50 with wires exposed and you're assembling from scratch almost
Hiii bro
this is the AlexGyver lamp. The assembly kit for it is sold at aliexpress.
Thanks for the review video. The background music was a bit obnoxious on this though and made it harder to watch.
Ey I have the non plus version of that one. First printer for me
Oh thinking about it, get rid of that SD card. It broke after very little use. Don't want anybody loosing any files.
poggers
Too bad, me being poor student doesn't count as "a good cause" ;x
I know it will be a painful year, but saving a little each month on coffee is a good way to save up a bit for a cheap printer. One doesnt need a brand new printer, and with a bit of tweaking, a used one will be up and running quickly.
@@nrdesign1991 Living in a second world country, when I'm living off 250$ a month (including rent and food) I can only save up 10$ max (if I don't go out anywhere the whole month). Not really possible to save up even 200$ for a printer...
my government (India) has put ban on most of the imports from AliExpress including this :--[]
Is it just Ali, or all China.
@@SidneyCritic almost all imports, mostly electronic or the courier is 10-50 times than cost
This is the GyverLamp
First?
This is just a very long Anet commercial.
The problem is that you know that this is a very bad printer and a terrible product, but because its a sponsored video you will say anything that Anet wants you to say.
In the reprap community Anet is famous for its unsave and unreliable 3D printers. The Anet A8 printers had the tendentie to completely burn down because they
disabled the safety's in the firmware. They used underrated connectors and components to make it cheap, causing many printers to burnout there connectors.
The A8 was a terrible machine.
This printer... Anet learned nothing. It uses there own terrible non open source firmware. Bad hardware etc.
Thomas Sanladerer Did a honest review of the thing, and its bad...
I'm a bit disappointed that somebody like bitluni can be bought to give this bad product from a bad company a positive spin.
A lot of people will not take you serious any more.
I think He Just doesn't Cares. Becouse He has no idea of 3d printers. He is more like a programmer.
are there any alternatives you suggest, is there anything avaliable at similar budget?
3D printing will make sense when it is possible to print a complete working device. Or ... pizza .... ;-)
Дешевая пародия на лампу Алекса Гайвера
ANET is a disaster, I wouldn't even give one to my enemy.
+
Just buy ender 3
Dont buy this printer it sucks
