Blender is always worth learning. It has many features like good UI, all in one modeling to rendering tool which easy as well to do without being annoyed by UI, widely used softwares, and has tons of tutorials, and is free of cost. It is the best free software of 3D. Learn Blender you want without thinking anything. It's definitely worth and requires no cost with tons of teachers out there.
Really great video. And amazing work on that animation! It's inspiring. I literally just started learning Blender yesterday. On tutorial 3 of Blender Guru's donut series lol
I have to choose between Houdini or blender. With Houdini I feel like I have more control of everything but blender is more fun and can do other tasks that are very hard or impossible to do in houdini(sculpting, texturing, camera tracking, 2d animation, 3d animation is also hard). Houdini is the industry standard for procedualism, simulations and tools while blender is a complete package that is free and has a lot of room for improvement. The question becomes more and more difficult the more I think about it
That's a really tough dilemma. Blender is a jack of all trade style of program. It can model, render, simulate, and track, but it hasn't achieved the level of mastery over these skills that Houdini, Maya, or other more specialized programs have. I you want to work in a studio and have a specific task that you are great at learn houdini, but if you want to go freelance, or become a 3d generalist, learn blender. Also blender is developing rapidly. I know they are working on new simulation nodes similar to the geometry nodes system. That update should bring blender way closer to the level of simulations that houdini can do. I think ultimately the choice is up to you. What you want to pursue in your 3d journey. I mean if you don't enjoy houdini you probably won't use it as much, and therefore not be as good with the program. Thank you for your comment, hope this helped!
@@filmstop7828 thx for your answer dude. I just want to correct you by saying that I doubt blender will reach the level of control in simulations and procedualism just because of how differently both software work
HEY! great video bro.....your progress within a year is really inspiring to me. I recently started with blender , 5th donut tutorial (kinda stuck on it :))..lol ... I just wanted to know that is blender really a commercially viable skill ? Should i take it seriously so that I can generat some income out of it in future ? Or should I just do it for fun?? reply if you can :) :)
I think that if you really put in work and try and grow your commercial business you can succeed, but if you just want to create stuff, that's fine too. You really have to pursue clients and build a brand rather than just make amazing content if you want clients for your company. Either way though, I would give it a shot.
@@filmstop7828 thank you so much for replying. ( i will take that into consideration for sure ! ). keep posting videos like these ! they are very helpful :) .... can we connect? I am actually need a little advice sometimes on blender..where can i find you?
Thanks for sharing! I would ask you how powerful ,or which size of computer is suitable for using blender, because I have a dell i5, which is slows down, crashes even doing basic animation in solid mode ,thanks!
I know that blender has a minimum system specs list on their official page, but I start out with a Nvidia 1060 as my main graphics card. (The Graphics card is the main piece of hardware that determines performance.) I'm glad you've been enjoying my videos
No. I have talked with a few different businesses, but they never followed up. But is have been able to use those skills to work on other projects like a video for my local church that won first place in a L2L convention. But even though I haven't made much money with blender yet, it has been a super fun time creating stuff and learning, as well as making content for this channel.
I always struggle between choosing blender or maya for my projects. Blender is more fun, but maya is the industry standard. I can do both, but which should I master ?
I personally only have experience with blender, but I studied both of these programs when deciding which one to learn. I chose blender for a variety of reasons such as the expansive and helpful community surrounding it, the price, and also the jack of all trade nature of the program. I am planning on creating a video weighing the pros and cons of a few different major 3D programs such as blender, unreal, unity, cinema 4d, and maya, so that would probably answer your question better than this comment. Really I think blender can do 97% of what maya can. Also it has other stuff it excels at that maya doesn't come with. The decision is really up to you, but I would choose blender.
My two cents from someone who has learned both and worked in a studio and independently: If you want a job in the industry working at a large studio, master Maya. If you want to do work independently or for a small studio, master Blender. If you can't decide, master both!
By the time you learn it, they've made a new release that changes everything. I'm convinced they do that so that you buy more tutorials. So, no, it's not worth learning.
You should scroll back up and hit the like button so this can spread to more people!

I think you should ask your wallet which you should choose.
Just remember that your job will never be secure at a large studio.
Amswer is yes !
