Agreed. Not everything needs to be a franchise, but this sure as hell does! Let's see Terry righting wrongs in another setting. Star making role for Aaron Pierre. Can't wait to see where his career goes from here.
Pretty realistic ending imo. Shows that all the cops in the film are corrupt, just to different degrees, and some have a hard line that they won't cross. Doesn't need to have the hero slay out all the cops or anything. And shows even after all that, after some previously bad cops sided with him, he still didn't trust his only saving grace evidence in their hands.
Awesome movie. Aaron Pierre deserves to be huge - this was a star making turn. For me there was also a nice ‘full circle’ here as after Miami Vice Don Johnson made an underrated thriller called Dead Bang where he is the LA detective turning up in a town full of corrupt cops and white supremacists.
This is the new Will Smith. They call him Aaron Pierre. Should have him play the sequel to "I am legend" Robert Neville. And the way he pulled that taser slug out of his back and threw it. I JUMPED OUT OF MY SEAT!!!! Absolute BAD ASS! He is the real deal. Good acting. Flawless.
In real life, that cop wouldn’t last 5 minutes getting shot by a shotgun on the leg/thigh. Most arteries in the human body are in the lower extremity. And he didn’t have a tourniquet on.
Hard drive that stored the dash cam video proving the chief shot one of his officers, drugged the woman, and was going to blame the black guy (the 3 in the car).
@@kevindavidson8802I was actually super surprised it went that direction, that the cops at the end decided to escort them and not stop them when they realized the chief was going too far, and that Marston protected them after realizing how bad things were going to
@@Ajaws I think they were state troopers uninvolved with the small town. Someone said on reddit that Marston is Serpico and that he's Summer's ex husband. He quickly flipped on the other cops after getting shot and when Summer's life was in danger. It was never directly mentioned though.
Loved this movie, freaking black batman, kept the whole movie disarming cops and beating them, killed nobody, need a sequel or prequel.

Yep, the cops had a line and at some point in all the chaos they determined it was best for their hides to turn on the chief.

Well he's officially going to be John Stewart in the DCU so he's off to a great start.
