I believe what Sabrina says about their relationship. The speed with which he cashed in on the insurance and blew it says a lot too. He manipulated her, no question in my mind. They both needed prison sentences and have been punished accordingly. .

He started grooming her before she was 18 so all of that influence inside of her head. Unfortunately we all have to pay the price for what we do however there should be some leniency in her case for what he did to her. I also say this with some experience not that I killed anybody but I was influenced very heavily at the age of 17 by a mid 30 year old. My parents did everything they could to stop at even told me that I had to emancipate myself. I remember coming home one day and my uncle and my dad were sitting there and talking about shotguns...
I don’t have a lot of sympathy for Sabrina, I feel like she thought he was her ticket to an easy life. At 17-18 she should have known better. They’re both evil. I remember being 16 and I had a hard life, a grown man - especially a married one was completely unacceptable to even fathom.
This is a perfect example of grooming, it’s so sad in these cases of foster or adoptive children being victimized by the people who should’ve care for them
I FULLY believe he was manipulating and grooming Sabrina. He was also "smart" enough to leave no proof of anything anywhere. No texts, no physical interactions in front of witnesses, no records of planning etc. He definitely used her to benefit from Lisa's insurance. He chose to completely ruin a childs life for his own finacisl gain and its good hes in prison until hes old and dried up. Its sad though that the manipulation and grooming has taken away any chance of Sabrina ever having any kind of normal functional happy life and family.
I feel so horrible for the daughters that were in the house when this happened... this was senseless and so extremely traumatic... I just can't wrap my head around it.
That is terrifying. He groomed her, she already was venerable due to her prior home, but he used her for his own sexual gratification and to get rid of his wife with no remorse. She trusted him but I agree both should be punished. They both are awful! But I do blame him more than I blame her. She believed this was the only way and she carried out this scary plan thinking he'd save her when the only person that matters to him is himself!
She was manipulated by Kevin and he deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison.

It’s so sad how good women who are literally Angels on earth are so under appreciated. Lisa was a social worker and an amazing mom. She was the heart of the family. This is just so heartbreaking.

What a terrible story....Sabrina definitely had demons, but he was the complete groomer....Not all her fault, she was raised in a hell hole. If this happens to anyone, if you are witnessing a murder, i say call out to Jesus to put the demons in their place. 😢

We all know right from wrong. Grooming aside, it takes someone that is deeply broken to be capable of let alone actually take the life of another human. We shouldn’t infantalize an adult who chose to end the life of someone else.

You can put two people through exactly the same trauma and the results on their psyches will differ. I'm happy that you came out of it well balanced, but not everyone is the same.
Oh they are both guilty. Guilty guilty guilty. No matter what age you are, what your trauma background, what mental state you are….if you murder someone or plan a murder of someone, you deserve life in prison.

I do think he groomed her and took advantage of her. I would like to know more about her and Lisa's relationship before Kevin got his hands on her. I think she does deserve prison time but not as much as him. She was an abused teenager when he took advantage of her.

Well, let’s see first of all I do believe with my entire heart and intelligent brain that Kevin absolutely did abuse groom and manipulate that girl into killing his wife. He had no intentions on being with Sabrina at all. He saw an opportunity, and he used this traumatized child already, and manipulated her into killing his wife, and not only that she also sort of killed a part of the children, they had to witness the actual murder so they’re traumatized for life and they will never ever be the same again and Dad is sad so yes, Kevin and Sabrina are both where they should be but I don’t feel like they should’ve gotten plea deals. I feel like they should’ve gotten, what was it 179 years each in prison a year for every stab wound that Sabrina gave Lisa that is my feeling but anyway great job Rachel you’re one of my favorite UA-camrs

I wholeheartedly believe that Kevin manipulated Sabrina, and he 100% took complete advantage of her vulnerability. Question here: what ever happened to the photos that he had taken of Sabrina naked? That, right there, would’ve proven that everything she said was the absolute truth.
Sure, she could’ve said no, but maybe Kevin had threatened Sabrina that if she didn’t agree to murder Lisa, then she’d be out on the streets, alone, and nowhere to go.
I wholeheartedly believe that to be true. I don’t think that Kevin had given Sabrina a choice, but I do think that he had given her an ultimatum: kill Lisa and they’d live happily ever after, or refuse to kill Lisa, and out she goes.
Kevin is where he needs to be, and I hope that he receives some good old fashioned prison justice for taking advantage, sexually, a very vulnerable young girl! I hope that Sabrina is receiving some form of mental health care while being in prison.

I'm a bit late to the party but just finished watching this & reading what other people thought and thought I wouls weigh in too.
Perhaps a controversial comment but I was disappointed to hear that Sabrina was let off lighter than her groomer. I understand that she was grromed and manipulated, plus she had mental issues but the fact that she was able to stab Lisa almost 200 times, shows some sort of sadisticness and overkill. The fact that the other daughter was yelling and pleading for Sabrina to stop and her continuing to stab, shows to me that, yes she certainly was manipulated to murder but part of me feels that she was happy to do this. I do think manipulation waa a factor but again, I can't get over the amount of stab wounds and also, the fact that someone was pleading for her to stop, in her frenzy, she just kept going. Regardless of the surrounding issues, I personally feel that Sabrina should have gotten a life sentence without the possibility of parol.
I would maybe have had a small doubt of he hadn't started spending money like water. If he had waited a bit before calling insurance people. I mean that money was blood money of sorts. He only had it because she died. But instead of putting it in trust for their children he goes on a shopping spree. He's guilty.
Please cover the Aubreigh Wyatt situation! Her family needs justice, but the girls who bullied her, to the point of her taking her own life are facing no punishment. One of the bullies father is a high up in the school so nothing is happening. I think we need podcasters to cover this story so they do something about this!!!
Poor Sabrina…..she was a traumatized girl that was so thankful to have a family that loved her and treated her which she never had in her life. Kevin certainly groomed her to kill Lisa and no intention to help her once he got rid of his wife. Sabrina was easily manipulated and openly showed how remorseful she was for murdering Lisa, a loving, caring and kind woman that had given Sabrina so much love, support and protection. Kevin is where he belongs and may he not live to be paroled.
Sabrinas sentace waa way too much. This is a girl whos entire family failed her, he foster family failed her, and the witnesses to the inappropriate behavior failed her all while she experienced a lifetime of abuse. A more appropriate sentace would have been 30 years with the possibility of parile after 10.
That 911 call is straight nightmare fuel! This man set a course for himself and destroyed everyone's life who got in his way.

this is so sad. that being said, it’s super concerning that not a single one of these mandated reporters said anything to anyone at all, including lisa. that doesn’t mean sabrina is justified in her actions, and of course kevin is the true monster here, but i can’t help but think of how many ppl failed to do their jobs, and allowed an already vulnerable and troubled sabrina to being sexually assaulted and groomed into doing this.

Hi Shannon! Love your videos. Saying some ‘has schizophrenia’ rather than ‘is a schizophrenic’ is a much more respectful way to address that mental health disorder. Just commenting to say this because 1 in 4 suffer with a mental health disorder and this is an easy way to beat the stigma and be more respectful of people who may also have this disorder 😊❤
Hey! Totally understand. I typically always use person first language (this goes for disabilities as well as any mental health issues, etc.)! When I don’t, it’s usually because I’m rephrasing or quoting someone else’s wording. I definitely try my best!

The overkill makes perfect sense if you accept that she was groomed by the husband. The later remorse also makes perfect sense knowing she was abandoned by him to rot in her cell alone which was the first time since being with him she had to face the facts.
Even though I personally think he is guilty, but if being on the jury n going by the law I think I would say there wasn't enough evidence to conflict him
