- At Superbooth 2024, Alex from WMD showcased the highly anticipated *Performance Mixer MKII*, a revamped version of the previous model with a slew of new features. The 8-channel mixer now offers stereo or dual mono configuration, crossfading capabilities, two stereo auxiliary sends, a third stereo bus, clickless mutes, Q-mixing for pre-fader listening, and a balanced TRS master output for seamless connectivity. The addition of voltage-controllable levels, panning, and effects, along with individual channel strips for easy maintenance, make this mixer a versatile tool for live performances and studio recordings. Notably, the Performance Mixer MKII also includes MIDI output for recording fader automation into a DAW, ensuring precise control and playback of mixes.

Came to make a better comment. I am 100% buying this. I have found a way to make room in my live system, very excited. I love my PM and can't wait for MKII! I also love that WMD went with a repairable design instead of a disposable one. Little channel strips is a cool idea.
stunning v2, all the wishes have answered and then some! two stereo auxes, fader automation recording!!!!! mind-blown!
i'm so glad to see proper outs per channel incorporated. the midi recording is a unique touch. only wish each channel had eq. glad to see wmd making a comeback. i've become a big fan of the MSCL comp. over the past yr.
Believe that’s handled by the buss and the buttons ala PFL, Group, Cue
EQ will be added in the future on a per channel basis with a simple expander cable on the back of the module :)
I have 2x WMD PM now and this has me drooling. The patch bay is amazing.
The fact that I can have 4x Channels MKII expanders is mind-blowing.
Folks, we're paying 190 USD per stereo channel on an amazingly modular (lol) and expandable mixing solution that really feels like it's the endgame for eurorack mixing. For this 190 seems reasonable.
This is a very exciting mixer! Well done! Midi automation record out too...... mind blown!
Thats a well built/designed mixer!! On another note, did anyone else notice that sexy blue Metron???
Spotted Scorpion at 4:40 ! What is this ?
Price=No Object. Bravo!! Huge improvements on the OG. Really love the Pre/Post and the midi integration. Thank you so much. This is the first thing that has ever made me want to multitrack my eurorack.
My only additional request would be some sort of Solo integration with the group muting (even via midi in with CC from external controller), but I seem to be the only one with that desire. As I type this, I am realizing that I can use some sort of trigger system with the vcas to solo things if I really want. ES9 as a midi macro controller maybe...hmmm. I love voltage control.
"The Performance Mixer is dead, long live the Performance Mixer."
The LPZW Schleußig would give you Clocked (!like after 1 bar, or 4 bars, or after 8 bars) switchable mutes of CV or a flat outputs of 5V in order to automate the muting.
@@stephanmobius1380 Thanks. Looks interesting.
The overall market lacks good performance mixers! I use the Roland MX-1 and it’s alright. I would like a modular type. Thanks WMD !
This is definitely worthy of a MKII name. That Intellijel header is great addition too.
The *only* thing I would have loved is that the patch bay was separate from the channels like the ADDAC 900 mixer.
Lovely, but $1500! Wow.
Good mixers are pretty expensive. This is 16 channels with all sorts of extra doodads, and I bet the quality is super high. It is out of my price range, but I get it.
Wouldn’t it be so nice to have a usb port to plug into your iPad and get all audio in/out, is that not possible in 2024?
Humm !! Really great MK2, but I have wait too long to have this version and big competitors are arrived on the market with boredbrain xcelon that I bought 3 month ago ! Same features but wmd has cue, headphone and trs output more
If you proove to me that the sound is better (but I warn you, it’s going to be very hard to beat!) and if the modul accept the IN and OUT line level (like Xcelon) so Maybe I could change !
Have two of the old ones - might swap one of them out if I can afford it.
Boredbrain copy ?
Can the mixer channels be muted and unmuted via CV?
-5V CV will mute a channel. Mutes are not activated directly by CV, only level.
@WMDevices Thanks, could that be addressed in an update, or is that a hardware limitation?
@@kimbopslayer562 Technically yes, the Mutes are digitally controlled. so there could be some kind of interface where the channels get muted/unmuted via digital CAN bus. If there's a significant use case argument for making this a feature, it's certainly possible.
No mention if the other 1u modules are included in that whopping price$$$ , you would think. that’s allot of beans, nice though
Is there a way to pan mono channels when a strip is set to dual mono?
Crossfader, so Yes
@@Powell19119 wouldn't the crossfader only crossfade levels between the mono channels?
@@autoy Mono won’t turn into stereo balance
No -- the pan control becomes a crossfader and the crossfaded mix is then sent to L/R at equal amplitude.
Got to 3:23.. can't watch anymore.. not BC I don't like it.. I just can't afford it.. looks and functuality so far>> amazing.. no, I really can't watch, the GAS would be too much.. well done WMD.
yeah it's nice of course it is but holly fu@$ $1500?? as a perspective i just got soundcraft lx7 32 channel studio/live mixer mint condition for $250.... yes apple and oranges but see how big and how many parts that is...
Pricing isn't just a features thing (as much as the end consumer would like it to be). It's all about scale of manufacturing and the cost to deliver your product to a store/end user. If two products exist, one from a small company that only makes 100, and one from a large company that makes 10,000 - that larger company is going to be able to offer it cheaper; because the companies doing the manufacturing charge less for bigger orders.
Not saying $1500 isn't a lot (it is) - just like people to remember that small boutique stuff isn't always expensive because the creator wants it to be :).
I'm looking forward to never paying for this. That being said, I'd have 2 of them.
I guess if you don't mind dropping $800 for a simple regulated & filtered power supply and a little bent sheet metal, you're probably the target market to drop $1500 on a mixer.
The Big Dog of Eurorack mixers got bigger.
Appears to be *Grimes* proof certified 😎
Boredbrain killer
You mean boredbrain copy ?
@@mattwade5254 You mean a Performance Mixer upgrade?
Modular pricing in general is totally ridiculous.
