This should be so much more popular than it is.
It will be now that it's on HBO.
+John Lewinski Why is it on HBO? Is it a TV theme song now?
That moment was so delicious I started crying :D
I didn't know the song until this show. It plays well throughout.
Actually, I'm fairly certain they were playing "Logan's Loop" throughout the season. It's right before Pulaski at Night on the album, kind of like a precursor to it.
I listen to this song usually when I'm sad and for some reason it really brightens up my mood. Most beautiful song I've ever heard.
karley borowski same
Yep!!!!
Sameeee
Same its a great song for when you are in your feels
Hey Karley don't be sad...we're here
Andrew is the reason why I bought a violin
+Alycrane i`m a musician from argentina, and recently was telling that to my friend. I saw andrew, like 6 years ago in a basement session in a show in I-Sat and straightway blow my mind, and for that show i bought my first violin too! cheers!
Lucas Corsi yus
I know this comment was from one year ago - but I've just opened another tab to see where I can buy a violin. I've been thinking about it for a while, this may be the final sign iit's time to actually buy it. But I don't know how to play instruments, I can just read music if iit's not too complicated...
Claudia Aprile jaja same!
@Ahmet Zogu You should go for it!
Find someone that looks at you like the guitarist looks at Andrew Bird.
❤
the best part about this song is his passion, definitely. You can just see it in the way he plays and it makes me extremely happy!
It's real music being released
@@itaintmebabe714 Real music indeed
Bird will be Bird. This girl was amazing.
U can always count on A Bird to bring all the passion that can be squeezed out of any song. Of course Tift was so beautiful too. They were Melded into one
this song is so beautiful it makes me cry a bit
Yeah it does
It happens the same to me almost every time I listen to it!
Same. Some very bittersweet tears
Only a bit? My eyes water! I mean they sweat a little. ;)
Thanks to the series "Orange is the New Black" did I find this great Artist. The song is on Season Two episode 1. Andrew Bird is a one of the kind Artist, cant wait to listen to more from this artist.
woo ! you should check out "andrew birds bowl of fire" too. they have a few albums from the late 90's epic stuff
Fluffy Yankee me too
Fluffy Yankee it's so funny how life is. The moment I watched that episode and the plane scene, I searched and searched for the song. It had my attention from the first note. And since then, I've been a great fan of Andrew bird
BLC 2012 It’s a fantastic song!
same!!
Wow. The way she looks at him.
There is real passion in that look.
That's how I look at him when I watch his live videos too. :P
this song makes me so emotional for some reason
I never realized how much Andrew Bird reminded me of David Duchovny until I saw him do a song with Scully?? Kind of uncanny
I recently re-found this wonderful song: grew up around Pulaski, in the City of Lights (2023).
This song sounds sad and makes me smile to
blazinqminer Too*
+colliscool Go away spelling police
This is my Spotify 2020 Wrapped no.1 song. It really made me get through this rough year. Brings so much hope and happiness when you truly need it.
Also, thank you to Orange is The New Black for introducing me to this gem! My life would never be the same without it.
My all time favorite Andrew Bird song! He performed a number of time in Pittsburgh, when I lived only 1.5 hrs from there, but always on a “school night,” and it was out of the question for me to attempt making a show on a “school night.” And I finally got to see him. Where, May you ask? Well, in Paris, France! I was directing a study abroad in Nantes, he was playing on a Friday night. I made it, and was so incredibly happy, especially when he played this song. Ok, TMI, I know! Thanks for your patience with me, folks!
Naw, we're ready to hear more! Shataht (shoutout in Yinzer) Pittsburgh!
Have you heard this song “ Nantes by beirut ” I also love Andrew bird along with iron & wine etc
holy fuck he's so talented
Is it just me, but does she just look at him with SUCH admiration and adoration... also... who needed some musical relief from the presidential race 2020- still here November 2020!
same here but in 2024! haha!
Funny to see this comment now on November 7th 2024.
Wow I'm 9 years late to find this wonderful piece
this is honestly so beautiful to watch, to see the passion he puts into his work. with him closing his eyes and singing with such heart. you can really see that he loves to do this. amazing!
This is my favorite version of this song, without a doubt.
I heard this song for the first time ever at one of his shows, and I weeped because I was so sad, but so happy. And it continues to have the same effect every single time I hear it!! Cure me!! Haha
I'm happy it placed you in a great place at that moment. 💪😊
I always feel like this is a call to action for me to move back to Chicago. I do miss it there.
I live in Chicago. Wonderful sights, but you gotta avoid the bullets now.

From Chicago, in NC saaaame
Heard his music on 'The Young Pope'. Absolutely beautiful 😊
Me too!
here because of The Young Pope, once again thank you Sorrentino, you make art, you make people look for art everywhere, thank you Andrew Bird, really.
As a hard rock enthusiast, a post-hardcore enthusiast, a punk enthusiast, and a 'many-more-things' enthusiast with a background in vocals - I absolutely love this song. It's purely beautiful.
Our true anthem here in Chicago.
Bird is brilliant. This girl is amazing.
I just discovered Andrew Bird-I think he's brilliant.
My golly. It's already 10 years. Still one of my all time favorites
This song is so beautiful. It's melancholic but its like a bittersweet ending. You know it sucks but you happily accept it. Just beautiful. 💖

This song makes my eyes misty every time I hear it💙

Criminal this has so few likes, this is art.
I wish Spotify had this version!😔
Beautiful song. Really encapsulates the bittersweetness of life so perfectly.
I don't think this will ever get played out.
❤Beautiful
It just keeps getting better as he shows more of this talented playing.
This is OITNB, and yes, the way she looks at him.
I just rocked and played a bit of guitar to "Jet City Woman" by Queensryche, and now I'm here, enjoying the F out of this song, which I have loved for at least the past 5 years. Andrew Bird is one of my favorites. I can't imagine a musical landscape without him.
This reminds me of a memory i never had about when my beautiful and kind Italian lover left me with no trace. I stay standing in my beautiful small but charming apartment, looking out over the rainy city just starting the days routine. I feel sad set safe knowing i will always have my self. LOLOLololahahga
The Young Pope. .colonna sonora perfetta !!!
Beautiful Duo!
Just became a fan of Andrew and OITNB ❤️❤️❤️
i looove andrew bird so much omfg his music is just yes
OITNB brought me here.
palak diwanji THIS
Same 🤣
This song describes the bittersweet longing I have had for Chi-town since I first witnessed it's glory at 5.
There I saw the Great White and other sharks, my favorite living 🦖 dinosaur at the time. The museum of Science and Industry taught me I was a skeleton, wrapped in watery flesh.
As an adult, I returned to my love for 13 years; worked as a makeup artist, rallied the goth-industrial freaks like me; flapper-spooked all and danced 'til dawn
There, I became an adult. Even through troubled waters 🌊 when I left, I yearned for that City's kiss. Salt of the Earth people, big city lights with FAMILY vibes.
It's a location with unbearable pain and injustices that are overdue to be healed and set right. Each time I sing this with abandon and swirling delight, better, better days feel ready to rise
This is a heartfelt masterpiece made to call all to do right.
*/Hat tip, deep bow, raised eyebrow*
I am in love with this song.

Charmaine.
Feel you there, pal. I miss you, Hailey.
Go find her!
Though it was 141.7 M views, no 131.7 K :C
Just can't understand it.
The world needs to apreciate more ARTIST like him.
Love from Colombia
I found his amazing violin in track over the mountain. I'm in love.
I doubt people from Chicago shares his love for Pulaski, specially at night.
Born and raised here playboy, I don't mind Pulaski at all. You can get cold beer, fire ass tacos, and mind numbin' drugs all within a one mile radius. What's not to like? Lol.
@@reychafamex9450 half empty, half full, cup runneth over
He talked about this song. It feels like a love song, but it's more tongue in cheek than that or rather an inspiration for an artist to take off on a notion. Here's his intro. ua-cam.com/video/Gb5O71O5llU/v-deo.html
Is beatifull song...
Go andrew..
#magic

this song is just beautiful very i love really, i remind me the orange is new black.
I love his half-Irish half-settler influence from the early 1800s I love it reminds me of the America I love.
Pop music these days don’t sound good live because it’s all auto tune and no talent, this is actual talent that can be played live and sounds beautiful
Half empty, half full
Cup runneth over
Horns of plenty, coffers full
We're starting over
Half empty, half full
Cup runneth over
Horns of plenty, coffers full
We're starting over
I write you a story
But it loses its thread
And all of my witnesses
Keep turning up, turning up dead
I paint you a picture
Of Pulaski at night
Come back to Chicago
City of, city of light
Come back to Chicago
I paint you a picture
But it never looks right
'Cause I fill in the shadows
And block out the, I block out the light
I send you a postcard
It says, "Pulaski at night"
Greetings from Chicago
City of, city of light
Come back to Chicago
City of, city of light
Come back to Chicago
We're starting over
se ve que su compañera lo ama, su mirada lo dice todo, hermosa pareja!!!!!
I like your song
Dope!
Just : 💖
I'm here cause of the Young Pope.. :)
What kind of genre of music is the violin part in this exactly? I'd looooove to listen to more that sound similar, makes me feel warm and nostalgic somehow.
Andrew Bird is his own genre of music. Pretty much anything by him is great.
Indie and folk! I love it. Especially since I’m mostly a classical musician, amazing to see the spotlight on instruments! He’s great
I keep coming back to Andrew Bird or he keeps coming back to me
shit he is so good
just heard this on xrt the other day
i wish more people could enjoy andrew bird but i also sort of like that he's a bit underground- its like a little secret in a way
I love how he introduced himself Ah France
I dont know what kind of drugs are in this song but I can not stop listening to it
Buongiorno!
«Voglio creare bravi cittadini. Se un bambino ascolta buona musica dal giorno della sua nascita ed impara a suonarla da solo, allora svilupperà sensibilità, disciplina e pazienza. Ed otterrà uno splendido cuore.» (Shinichi Suzuki)
A volte succede cosí. L'educazione fa bene.
🎶❤️
