You have a talent at telling stories, i feel like if you just told the lore of multiple runescape 3 quests people would enjoy it. Plus your visual effects are really good for the story telling aspect
In the Battle for the Monolith, you missed out a couple of important details: 1) The Tokhaar don’t join in until the World Guardian asks them to to help fight against the shadow creatures. 2) Towards the end of the Battle, when the shadow creatures are sealed away, this is the point where the elder gods truly turn against us, as Ful instructs her TokHaar to betray their former allies. 3) The elder eggs weren’t “overloaded” as much as they were poisoned/threatened by the seeping shadow anima, trying to hatch earlier than they should as a result. So they had to be drained in order to prevent this. On another note, Azzanadra has actually had free will since Zaros’s defeat at the hands of Zamorak and before Zaros’s return. It’s just that he chose to keep serving Zaros all those years. This was noted by Zaros himself in one of those Sliske Saga quests. He just gains immunity to Zaros’s control aura upon ascending to godhood, as noted by Zamorak. Despite this, he is still loyal to Zaros. Also Croesus is not a plant, it’s a fungus. Fungi are actually more related to animals than plants, by the way. Even their cell walls are made of the same stuff human hair/nails are made of, keratin. Plant cell walls on the other hand are of cellulose.
Also 16:15 Azzanadra can’t help mostly because he hasn’t had the time to adapt to his ascension so if he tried, he would be destroyed by the sheer power. Zamorak states this with amusement

I love this video, i love shark, but, given the importance of the event, i was expecting something like "The Origins of Gielinor" to announce the quest and kick the hype into overdrive. This is like our "Avengers Endgame", "HP and the Deathly Hallows P2", "The Return of the King", "The Return of the Jedi", you get my drift, and i did something i actively avoid to do, i got extremely hyped and have my hopes as high as a Giraffe's P... Anyways, i love these recaps, RsBnB Also did an amazing one and the hype is pretty much real, i want to believe we're in for a treat, and when it comes to quests, Jagex usually delivers (still salty about the "Huge Scale War" from River of Blood).
The actual event is the quest, it's already had a teaser trailer it doesn't need more as long as the quest holds up. This video is to just catch everyone who cares completely up to speed
I really love the Elder God Wars storyline, I'm just a bit disappointed it's ending so soon. I feel like it has LOADS of potential to do more. Maybe it's because I haven't done much with GWD3 but I feel like it's missing a lot of story... so I'm glad the finale is super long but I still feel a bit disappointed it's ending so soon. This happened with the Dawn of the Sixth Age/Sliske story as well; I feel like it had a lot of potential, it built up a lot and then just ended abruptly. I love RS storytelling (MORE QUESTS AND WORLD EVENTS PLEASE!) but I've noticed questlines since RS3 launched tend to be super ambitious, only to end on a slightly disappointing note.
@Gruggadubdub Agreed entirely. I understand why they don't do VO very often, as it is quite expensive, but I think all the big quests need full VO. The smaller quests are fine with the voiced cutscenes instead but the big ones like this deserve full VO.
I think it’s more the end of the Saga of dealing with the sabotage of their Eggs, and introducing the next stage of the other realms involved in a bigger conflict.
Oh, it gets even deeper alright, and it shows no sign of stopping anytime soon. In fact, if only the 2 most popular clans remain active after everyone else quit for good, the game wouldn't die off, it would still be alive and kicking, but people have a hard time coping haha, the game isn't going anywhere so it's always a good time to return to the game.
I remember maybe 15 years ago, I posted in the suggestions forum about a quest idea where you learn about a race of titans that created RuneScape. Kinda cool to see something similar to what I wrote as a kid end up in the game.
You said Azzanadra can't help drain the eggs because he's busy on the Glacor Front, but the real reason the Gods also talked about is that Azzanadra is a new god and very much unprepared for that energy.
As other comments have stated some of the events in this video are not entirely correct and I was hoping for a more serious tone video considering the stakes in the upcoming quest

i dont play runescape, but i play osrs, and this is the kind of quest i wish we had. so inclusive of all different story lines adding up to one giant quest. very very cool
OSRS is this weird echo chamber that's so focused on what the hivemind wants that, cool stuff like this rarely, if ever, gets implemented. Like Warding for instance. The people in charge of making these collaborations are the same as those making the Facebook ads you see being meme'd about in Reddit. If Mod Jack, Hooli, Steve or any of the other Jmods that actually get involved with the lore were in charge, we would've seen a different result. Not saying this was bad, but i was also left with more questions than answers. Thankfully, these channels you mentioned can make their own recaps and we can share them around, at least RsBnB already did and it was pretty cool.
5:21 Is the Anachronia at that point a new Anachronia? What I gathered from the quest is that Kerapac stealing the Needle is the explanation for why Anachronia just sort of popped into Gielinor...not that Kerapac brought forth a "new" Anachronia.

Jagex sustains that in theory, RS3 and OSRS share a canon, so the present-day version of that island is OSRS' "Fossil Island." But tens of thousands of years before that, RS3's "Fossil Island" -- Anachronia -- Is what it looked like. The Needle has time powers, so what Kerapac did was bring the tens-of-thousands-of-years-ago island forward in time to the present, because it had something he needed that was destroyed since.
So does sealing Zaros in the underworld essentially kill Zaros? Like is that why sealing the monolith ascended Azzanadra? It just seems so coincidental and against the normal rules of ascension.
In true Azzanadra's fashion, when Jagex fails to deliver the announcements, it falls to our content creators to take care of it. Seriously now, it's in Jagex future plans to give more leeway to our Content Creators and let them make interviews, documentaries, etc...

I hope it doesn't. I know, controversial right? But here's my logic in bullet points. • We got a teaser for a new area at the end of the trailer (allegedly it's Iaia). • Developing a new area to explore takes a considerable amount of time. • Erebus deserves to be, at least in my opinion, as big as the Eastern Lands, with lots to do and explore. • Should we get a glimpse or Erebus, it may probably be as big as Senntisten Asylum or Tarddiad (best case scenario), but it may end up being closer to Rimmington or The Abyss (Most likely). • The Development time seems pretty small to make an impactful new area, I'm sure they went with a more conservative approach and will explain what we cannot/couldn't see in Erebus via lore books.

I originally played for the quests and story line because it created such an immersive universe and unique experience. Kinda got upset when Guthix, who in my mind is still one of the only three gods, died. After that I just kinda went with everything that y’all added to the storyline because we all knew y’all didn’t have an endgame in sight at the time. Even though I didn’t like it I still supported jagex and still do to this day. However, now that y’all are wrapping up the end of this story line can we get back to all the other one off stories, tangents of the main story, and unique quest lines(even the easiest ones were fun and had good plots) that made this world so immersive in the first place?
I don't want to sound rude, but damn, why close the door on the rest of the lore community like that man. What about The Book of RS, or RSBnB, Jaxxys, Fraqsu, the Questing Clan...
Think all this lore is boring as hell tbh.. and i actually really like the god lore in this game probably up to children of mah but you can tell they arent hiring based on merit anymore when it comes to these new storyboards.
Just finished quest. One of the most underwhelming quest ever. Rewards are awful for grandmaster and the ending and lack of explanations are garbage. Not to mention the art team dropped the ball again and butchered what should have been a cinematic masterpiece.
It took you 4 years to make a poll and the poll is on retro cosmetics instead of literally anything else. Fix old content and think of original content.

This is the first storyline that I decided to go out of my way to learn more about, I dig it.
It's, fundamentally, RuneScape Story Mode or the "Main Story". The rest are kinda sidequests that complement the main story.
That's something I didn't take into consideration or realize, thanks for learning me something today. :)

I stopped playing RS3 right before archeology but this makes me want to get back into it.
