I have a huge back deck; we have bobcats, bears, deers, rabbits, birds of all kinds (wild turkeys and eagles too), squirrels, coyotes, raccoons, opossums, fox, all sorts of things (still searching for bigfoot! haha!) and a creek runs through the backyard. I love these solar light ideas. They would look good out on the deck and patio furniture during the day when I can sit and watch the animals (except when the bobcats and bears come too close!) and they would glow at night! Thanks for sharing your great ideas!
Lidded jars turned upside down are great to use for solars/glass gems, etc. First place the solar light upside down on the bottom , then add gems and turn jar upside down. The light's protected from moisture and it's fine outdoors in rain.
OH! Edit because I think I know what that sconce looking thing is! The small end attaches to a pole, the wider part opens and closes to use for fruit (like apples) picking on the tree. Cool find! Does Dollar Tree have the hummingbird feeders now? I need to buy a bunch. I've been feeding hummingbirds all Winter, and some of my feeders got broken from Santa Ana winds. I love solar lights! I love all your ideas here, Jamie! I live off-grid on 100% solar/wind power. We shut most things off at night to save power, but I use solar lights everywhere outside and inside too. The best quality solar lights I've found at Dollar Tree were sold at Halloween 4 years ago, black cat heads with solar eyes! Mine are still working after 4 years!
I made tiffany style lamps for my sister's porch (back when it was a dollar). I used DT plastic bowls (they looked chrystal cut), nail polish in varying colors, solar light and one piece of plant chain. All products from DT.
Hi Jamie, It's so great to see a video of your's. I haven't been watching much UA-cam lately as I am in bed very early from working VERY LONG HOURS at the Chevy dealership since the strike ended still trying to get engines and transmissions that have been back ordered since the assembly line reopened. Even small parts are tough to get. My Dad has been under the weather too which has been a great concern. Until I have a yard of my own I do not have a real way to get light to color lights but, just last Saturday I went to the Variety Store near me to see if they have any new spring scraps of fabric. You would love this Variety Store still family run since 1956. In the garden section was a faux rod iron black small vase with what looked like a glass cigar holder in the middle. I really liked it but it was $7. I am finally reaching my goal to buy a small house this summer and I am going to start looking in May. I wish you were my realtor. 🥰 But, I am staying away from credit cards to keep my score high and watching every penny. Now I see your ideas with the plastic bowl and the solar lights and now I doubly would like that little vase. In my foyer I think it would be sweet to make a little night light. At the Variety Store they have electrical kits to add electricity to lamps that are burned out. If the solar light doesn't fit into the fase I wonder if a thin piece of PVC pipe would fit and run an electrical cord thru and hook a mini Christmas candle bulb to it and balance a Dollar Tree bowl to it. The Variety Store is closed by the time I leave work so it will have to wait until Saturday. I hope I can still get it. With my black beading wire I can make a little hanger too if I could ever hang it. Well, I am off to work. In 16 miles I will be there. Have a super day I hope your parents are doing well. Blessings And Love, Rebekah
Happy Easter everyone! 🐰🐣 Happy half-price chocolate day tomorrow! Back away from the Godiva dark chocolate bunnies though, they're MINE! Okay, I'll share... oooh! Is that Reese's peanut butter eggs over there?
😂😂😂 . I want to stock up on chocolate but I’m trying to loose weight 🤪 you caught trying lol. I have no will power so I won’t go to a store until later this week .
The wire lampshade looking cage is a modern rendition of worklight bulb protector gone uptown fancy schmancy. They are mainly used for lamp shades now since incandescent Edison bulbs are seldom used as workligts in areas where they may be knocked around and need protection. BTW: the movable petals offered protection but allowed easy access to change the bulb. They were not originally intended to look like a flower, but hey, six to one, half dozen to another. 😁
I love solar lights. There is not one DIY vid with solar lights that has bad ideas and your ideas are great! I wish now I had not given away some faceted jars I had!
Your last light would be awesome if if you put a mirror behind it . Could put the mirror on a piece of wood then the light over that ....The reflection would be great... Della
Love solar lights and can't wait to give these a try! I love all of your ideas!! I made one out of a thrifted lamp that I got from the goodwill and removed all of the electrical parts and added the solar light in the middle! It looked really cool on my picnic table!!! Thank you Jamie so much for sharing these hacks ❤❤
All of them are wonderful. I’m going to my Dollar Tree to get some of the colorful lights! The picture of the two textured candles on the glass top table are amazing reflecting back in that top!❤❤
Solar lights are also handy if you lose power at night in summertime (or year round in south). Just harvest your existing lights and bring them in to use a few hours. Some light better than none…
Great ideas! I will be using several of these. I always try to have several of these lights on hand for when the power is out. Now, they will look lovely.
I have a thing over my light and my seller that is antique. You could put that over the bulb and protect the bulb from getting hit on a bold and you know that hangs down. That’s how the antique when does in my solar.
Hi Jamie I love the solar lights. I got a few last summer and really enjoyed them on my balcony. I'm going to do your diys with some this year. Thank you. Have a Blessed day.
Happy Sunday Easter 🐣 Jamie and Otis 🐈💙 that’s so beautiful at night 😊 I never found that torch looking one 😊 my favorite is the green one and the family dollar ones but it all looks amazing and genius 😊 everything looks amazing thank you for sharing have a wonderful Easter 🐣 Sunday and to your mom 🧓 as well 💙🐈🌈🦋🐰🐇🐣

Oh Jamie! These are above and beyond the same ole, same ole solar light hacks! You are always brilliant with your ideas and these made my day! I will be copying these. The only thing is as with the DT, here in my town the selections are very limited. I’m going to have to branch out like I did with the DT goldmine in the next town over. But I will be on the hunt! Thank you for sharing your ideas in that beautiful brain of yours! Happy Easter!🐇🐣
Hey Jamie, Hope you’re Easter Sunday was awesome And tyfs your amazing ideas I was wondering, the one idea you have for the hallway inside, how do you keep it charged up? I assume setting it outside during the day. I’m sorry if I’m being dumb 😝 The flower solar lights..so cute! The first diy, the sconce hanging on the wall on porch .. loved it! All were excellent! ❤❤
Happy Easter 🐥🐣🐇🐰 Hope your Easter, was Blessed Beyond Measures today. What super easy an fun ways to use solar lights. My boyfriend and I camp alot and use solar lights. I am always trying to find different ways to make them look good. I am glad you didn't paint the green candle holder. Thanks and may you have a Blessed day.
Hi, Did you replace the DT batteries with more powerful ones? I made a solar light craft, but the light is so weak, while yours seem really bright. Did DT upgrade the batteries in 2024 because might light is from 2022. Great ideas!!
I wish we had such wonderful dollar shops here in Europe. 😢 We have Chinese shops with low prices but they don’t have the variety that you have in America. 😢😢😢😢
That first one would be so pretty hanging on my gazebo. Question here lol do you move the ones on your porch to the sun so they will charge.? I’d love to put some on my porch.

I have never been a fan of solar lights. BUT I AM NOW.They take DIY creativity to a new level...and so simple. ❤

I would love to see that
@@jillifensty5110 I used WM mini spray bottles (white) to look like lightbulbs on the inside, I forgot about that part. 🤭
So cute

You can also use a rubber band around the base of the light to keep it in the candle holder.
Great idea!!!!
