Mate. I can’t tell you how this has saved us. Was about to attack the inside with all manner of inappropriate tools and one press of a button and it was fixed. Thank you so much.
Just watched your video after my discovery 3 tailgate wouldn’t open and followed your instructions and hay presto the boot opened, thanks for posting it,saved me a lot of time and heartache A+++++
Great thanks from Australia. I have exactly the same issue and just figured this out for myself and your excellent video confirmed this… and yes - they are beautiful cars. Cheers.
You are a "STAR" Raggy Tigger.... Spot on first time, and there I was thinking I was going to need to rip off internal panels etc ... now to order the part... Many thanks.
I felt the same when I bought mine (a 2007) . And still love it 😁.very useful video especially as when I had this problem I had to use the difficult method 😩😩😩😩
I got a landrover guy to find where the problem was in the loom. He had sorted this problem before and fixed it in no time... somewhere in the front passenger foot well. I tried to find the issue myself but failed, my video is a... gets you out of an issue temporarily, a full fix is still needed.
It still runs brilliantly, totally reliable never let's me down, I'm now looking to sell it next year, and upgrade to a 2012 discovery, hope the next one is as good as this, great vehicles, comfort power and grace, love these landrovers.
My fob sends the signal but the tailgate does nothing. Holding the 2 internal door release buttons down for 3 seconds half releases the tailgate. If someone holds the 2 buttons down for me in the cab and I pull the tailgate door when it clicks it opens. I've replace the tailgate latch and the actuator. I'm now about to order a new tailgate manual handle/switch. I'm now informed it's the fob signal receiver for the tailgate that could be faulty, but nobody seems to know its location. Does anybody out there have any clues? Good video
Hi Paul..... yes .. mine did the exact same thing, this video was only a temporary fix to get me out of trouble at the time, well, the receiver is in the middle of the roof under the head lining...... but my friend it's not that so don't bother replacing it. I'm afraid you have arrived at the same place I did. It's now a a wire problem, actually a loom problem and I couldn't locate it exactly, it's in the loom, on the left side below the plastic strip below the passenger seat, I actually took mine to a professional landrover guy near me who knew about this issue and fixed it no problem, it was a cheap fix too, I've never had a problem since and I still have the same car, still runs fantastic, hope this is a help mate 👍
Cannot tell you how useful this is, solved an issue we’ve been dealing with for months!
Mate, you've just shown me a cracking hack there. Many thanks as my tailgate has been closed for. Months. Thanks biddy

This fix also works for a Discovery 4 where the button is actually a picture of the tailgate open, saved me a lot of hassle thanks a lot
